"The two owners of Galapagos Safari Camp dreamed up the idea for this luxury tent camp while sitting in a tree and admiring the views on the 135-acre farm where the lodge now sits. Opened in 2007 in the highlands of Santa Cruz’s transition zone at 1,575 feet above sea level and bordering Galapagos National Park, the camp is modeled after African safari camps but sports an Ecuadoran theme. The main lodge, complete with a 15-foot Balinese teak dining table and a glass wall looking out to sweeping vistas of the Pacific Ocean, anchors the rural property. The luxury tents are connected to the lodge by a volcanic rock path and sheltered under three layers of covering to protect from sun and rain. They sit on elevated platforms and are outfitted with balconies and en-suite bathrooms with hot showers. Part of the owners’ vision for the property has been to rid the former cattle farm of invasive species, allowing the endemic plants that are better protected in the national park to once again flourish. These measures will increase the activity of the giant tortoises that occasionally make their way onto the property."

Incredible experience! The lodge is fairly isolated, about a 30 minute drive from the nearest town. You can only see nature from your room. The place is gorgeous. My son ran into a tortoise on his way to lunch. We saw tortoises every day on the dirt road leading to the camp. The food was as good as the best restaurants in any city. The chef is spectacular. My adult sons joined us. They are foodies and they always wanted seconds. They also accommodate for any diet. The best part is that they make planning your time in Galapagos so easy. Once I booked, I did not have to plan anything else. They take care of all drivers and guides and excusions and even made sure we had wetsuits. I can't recommend this place more.

What an amazing play to stay! We loved the ease and professionalism throughout the planning and booking phase. The place itself is so well maintained and comfortable. Cannot say enough about the staff at the camp!!!! They were so attentive and always had a smile on their face. My kids unfortunately fell ill on one of the days and the staff (Stephanie & George) were just so remarkable in checking in on us throughout the day and making available whatever they needed. The bartenders (Juan & Alex) make great cocktails. The chef is outstanding too. Our guide (Robert) was also so nice and knowledgeable and full of stories to keep us entertained. We were very sad to leave the place.

Our stay at the Galapagos safari camp was truly remarkable. The booking process and arrival were handled with precision and care. Although we had to spend a night on the Ecuador mainland, the arrangements were seamless. Airport pickups, hotel transfers, and return trips to the airport were all handled professionally. The entire experience was stress-free. From our arrival on the island to the daily excursions, every aspect was well-planned and executed, resulting in a truly exceptional experience. I am compelled to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional staff at the camp, who consistently exceed expectations. Four staff members who particularly stood out were Jorge, Juan, Alex, and Stephanie, as they always maintained a warm and welcoming demeanor. Our daily guide Sandie was top notch. Let's not forget the chef and those that work in the kitchen. They prepared impressive gourmet meals. My husband and I cannot thank you enough.

Cannot speak highly enough about this place. Everything was wonderful, but the hospitality and food truly blew us away.||I’ll leave the details out as to not spoil the surprises and delights. But overall the staff, accommodations, lodge and FOOD in particular was mind-blowing. The detailed attention to our excursion plans and helping us prepare for them made all the difference too. ||If you are considering booking a trip here, just do it. You will remember it forever!

What a gem! Located overlooking the ocean and Bartholomew Island, the hotel has tented rooms that are very comfortable and quite charming. Much like the African safari camps. Our 3 night stay started every day with a delicious Ecuadorian breakfast, and ended each night with more delicious dinners. Our wonderful guide Viviana Herrera met us for adventurous outings on Monday and Wednesday. Tuesday the camp arranged for us to take a boat ride to Bartholomew Island where we saw penguins, boobies, and went snorkeling. Just a wonderful day. If you go to the Galapagos the Safari Camp should be on your list. The manager Jorge, and his staff are very helpful and accommodate every request. Just a special place.

Hands down, The Safari Camp is service wise the best thing we have ever experienced, without comparison - we loooved that everything was so well thought through, the debriefing with the host with a small drink and just in general the eye for detail with packing everything we need for the day, small information cards in the morning and a nice little bedtime message with a nice quote. The food was mindblowingly good, some off the dishes even Michelin niveau! We really got along with our guide Robert, he was so sweet, well knowing and just plain good company! We can totally recommend going here, if you want an experience of your lifetime.

The owners of this property have taken a former ranch and made it into an upscale retreat. This is ‘glamping’ at its best. The upscale tents open to a full ocean view and the Galapagos turtles wander about just below your deck. Their Chef is phenomenal and the staff are attentive, friendly and professional. We will be back!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Truly such an amazing experience. They made everything feel so individualized and personal. The staff was absolutely wonderful and catered to our every need each day, making sure we had the absolute best time. The activities planned for us were perfect and the food; wow. Every meal was 10/10. Absolutely recommend.
