"The two owners of Galapagos Safari Camp dreamed up the idea for this luxury tent camp while sitting in a tree and admiring the views on the 135-acre farm where the lodge now sits. Opened in 2007 in the highlands of Santa Cruz’s transition zone at 1,575 feet above sea level and bordering Galapagos National Park, the camp is modeled after African safari camps but sports an Ecuadoran theme. The main lodge, complete with a 15-foot Balinese teak dining table and a glass wall looking out to sweeping vistas of the Pacific Ocean, anchors the rural property. The luxury tents are connected to the lodge by a volcanic rock path and sheltered under three layers of covering to protect from sun and rain. They sit on elevated platforms and are outfitted with balconies and en-suite bathrooms with hot showers. Part of the owners’ vision for the property has been to rid the former cattle farm of invasive species, allowing the endemic plants that are better protected in the national park to once again flourish. These measures will increase the activity of the giant tortoises that occasionally make their way onto the property."

Galapagos Safari Camp is truly a special place and was a highlight of our recent trip to Ecuador. Not only is the property breathtaking, but the level of service provided by the staff was superb. They pay close attention to detail and custom-tailored our time there to our interests. The food was out of this world, some of the best we have ever had and they accommodated dietary restrictions extremely well. The guides we had on our excursions were wonderful and knowledgeable. We also had the opportunity to interact with the founders of the camp which made the experience even more magical. We can’t wait to return someday!!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Truly such an amazing experience. They made everything feel so individualized and personal. The staff was absolutely wonderful and catered to our every need each day, making sure we had the absolute best time. The activities planned for us were perfect and the food; wow. Every meal was 10/10. Absolutely recommend.

Worth every penny. Everything is catered to you from top to bottom, not only did the staff and chef celebrate our anniversary they also put together something for a birthday. We couldn’t have felt more at home or more special at this place. It is decadent and luxurious. Don’t hesitate to book your adventure here

I can't say enough fantastic things about Galapagos Safari camp. Andrea organized everything perfectly for us, down to the finest details, including a tour in Quito. The staff were so warm, friendly and their attention to detail was impeccable. We loved the fine touches, such as the personalized little notes left each night, and even for our young daughter (she loved the little stuffed animals left on her bed). The food was out of this world. Our guide Robert, was fantastic. Perfect combination of knowledge, humor, calmness, and never rushed us but still managed to keep things on schedule. Everyone honestly went out of their way to ensure our needs were met and that we had a great time. This is our second trip to Galapagos and this trip blew our other trip away. It was very hard for us to leave.

We had a fabulous time at Galapagos Safari Camp. The setting was gorgeous, the staff were incredible, and the food was delicious. There were so many little touches that made our stay extra special - notes on our pillows, surprises for our daughter, snacks for the car. It’s very quiet and peaceful at camp, but there’s not much downtime, with all the excursions they plan. I wish we had a day to just relax and enjoy camp.

I've stayed at top-of-the line adventure resorts all over the world and Galapagos Safari Camp ranks among the best. I'm so happy we booked our stay there versus a cruise or AirB&B. Everything about our experience was exceptional.||The tents are amazing. The right amount of "glamp" - extremely well appointed but you still feel you're in the middle of nature -- waking up to the sounds of the birds in the forest. The common facilities are wonderful, open and conducive to meeting other travelers and making friends. The chef is exceptional -- each multi-course meal is a gourmet creation. And the portion sizes are perfect (not gluttonous).||But hands down what differentiates Galapagos Safari Camp is the staff and guides. They are extremely professional, knowledgeable, and handle everything down to the last detail. While the Safari Camp is expensive -- all the arrangements are made, the fees are paid and you don't have to worry about a thing. But more important, they will bend over backwards to ensure your stay is exceptional. We had made a special request regarding our accommodations, which most resorts would never have agreed to -- at least without considerable extra expense. When the staff asked management about it -- they made it happen that day -- no questions asked and without additional charges. ||They go above and beyond to give you a truly unique experience in a truly unique part of the world.

Absolute first class experience! GSC arranged not only our wonderful stay in the Galapagos, but 2 additional days in Quito and 2 days in the Andes at Hacienda Zuleta (reviewed separately). |Diego helped us plan and book everything and was very responsive and helpful with us in that regard. EVERYTHING was taken care of - itinerary, transfers, guides, passes, food and lodging. All we had to do was show up and enjoy the adventure.|We traveled as a 6 guest multigenerational family ages 9,16,47,51,76,&77. Without exception, everyone was blown away by the entire experience. Every day we saw and participated in so many "first time" things. We walked among the Giant Tortoises, climbed through lava tubes, hung out with sea lions, iguanas, blue footed boobies, swam with sharks, penguins, sea lions, learned and participated in chocolate, coffee and even moonshine production! We were fed wonderful food throughout and met so many wonderful people. |Without a doubt, the shining stars throughout were the people who took care of us. The chef and hosts (Jorge and Jose) at GSC took care of us as though we were family. Our drivers throughout or entire stay in Ecuador were terrific and professional. Finally, a most special mention should go to our guides Jose (in the Galapagos) and Juan Pablo (on the mainland). Both were so caring and informative. We spent several days with each and we were sad to say goodbye. We will treasure the memories that our family were able to make and I would highly recommend Galapagos Safari Camp to anyone, as their team made all of this happen.
