"More recently, the Galaxy Boutique Hotel arrived on Lake Tekapo in the Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve, where guests can sleep under skylights opening up to the stars."

The rooms at Galaxy Boutique are well appointed and spacious. Our room has 2 bedrooms, a living and kitchenette area, and a large bathroom. The primary bedroom and living room have large windows facing the beautiful Southern Alps and Lake Tekapo. The town is small, so it's easy to walk to the shore or to take a drive around the lake. On Wednesdays, there is a local market with Thai food, pizza, lamb tortillas, chicken skewers, desserts, coffee, and other offerings. The Galaxy Boutique hotel is convenient to all of it. Service has been good with housekeeping straightening daily and ample breakfast. If we returned to this area, I would stay here again.

I booked a Single Deluxe Room for a day, and it was a very comfortable stay. The hotel is in a great location in Tekapo, peaceful with nice views of the lake. The room was spotless, with excellent cleanliness and all the necessary amenities provided, including complimentary bottled water. The skylight above the bed, which gives you the chance to stargaze right from your room – though you’ll need a clear night sky to fully enjoy it. The staff were warm and welcoming, and they took our order for breakfast upon check-in as we opted for in-room dining. Breakfast was delivered promptly and was nicely prepared. Parking within the premises was convenient and hassle-free. Overall, a stay with thoughtful touches that made the experience memorable.

I booked the Deluxe Lake View Room and the room and view definitely made it worthwhile! It was a long drive from Christchurch and the hotel was like a pot of gold at the end of a gravel rainbow. When the staff opened the door and I walked through, my breath was taken away by the view of Lake Tekapo from the height of the room. I’m sure the staff enjoyed impressing me with the skylight as well. Sadly, it was a full moon and it was cloudy, so I wasn’t able to admire the stars that Tekapo is famous for. But the gorgeous contemporary rooms more than made up for it, and there’s also a bathtub from which you can look out at the lake. The staff were great, really cheerful and helpful even though a couple of them were still being trained. Breakfast: it’s basically fry ups where you choose how many pieces of tomatoes, bacon, sausages, hash browns, etc. There’s also continental breakfast in the form of bread (i believe there’s a toaster and jams), yogurt and bananas. There’s parking up front but seeing that there were some vacancies, the car park was already full, so if you’re driving, do take note. Cant wait to be back again for more nights!

Stay at the hotel was great. The rooms feature incredible views, large skylights and great modern features. The staff are so friendly, thanks for making our stay so welcoming. The hotel does need some love with paint required in the rooms and some hiding of bags to be built.

We booked 2 nights at this hotel as we liked the look of it on the Booking.com website. We were not disappointed. The hotel is not directly on the lakefront but each room has a sensational view through a huge window across the lake to the mountains. It is only a very short walk to the main street of the little town and also to the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd.my husband and I are in our late 70’s and had no difficulty with the walk.|However I can really say that the breakfast was one of the best we have experienced in a small hotel for some time. There was a variety of hot dishes offered and all were cooked to order and very tasty. The only drawback is that as they only have about 8 tables, some seating 2 but most seating 4 and they only start serving breakfast at 8am it can get busy very quickly and if the hotel is at full capacity and you’re not at breakfast by 8 you might have to either have a 30-40 minute wait until a table becomes free or elect to have it delivered to your room.|The other lovely feature is the skylight above the bed which gives a stunning view of the night sky on a clear night.|I can recommend this hotel for its location and very friendly staff.

I would stay here again if I come back.|The rooms have a great view of the lake and it is close enough to it. You will drive everywhere in NZ so having parking spaces there are the hotel just a few flights of stairs away is a life saver. ||The room is clean and well heated. No kitchenette for the room I booked but that was fine as we only stayed for a night. There was a retractable sky light so that we could see stars at night in the comfort of our bed. Unfortunately it snowed the whole night so we could not see any stars.||Only hotel we stayed in that provided toothbrushes and toothpaste.||However, the toilet was so cold. Sitting on the toilet bowl felt like a punishment.||Breakfast. It was included. Bread, eggs and bacon - pretty standard and unlimited. Love it.

Super clean hotel with nice views and a very convenient location close to star viewing tours. Parking was easy and stress-free, which made the whole stay even better. Everything felt smooth and well taken care of. Perfect spot for a short trip or weekend getaway. Would definitely come back again.

Amazing hotel! The two bedroom room was spacious and perfect. Staff were amazing, there were a few marks on the walls from a bit of knocks, but otherwise amazing bathroom and heaps of cutlery and essentials! Breakfast pre-ordered to our room the next morning was amazing!!
