This spot was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. The staff was very polite and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic and the staff recommendations were spot on. I strongly suggest you make time to stop in.

Google
Very nice! Clean and cozy ✨️ 😌 Food was excellent, Pricey but they do give you big portions. I'll definitely go back in the summertime to dine outside!

We had a great experience from the moment we walked in the door. We were greeted by the hostess & she said the kitchen was closing up for lunch service. She went to check if they could accommodate us and then promptly sat us at a table next to the large, open windows looking out on the lake. Wonderful view! Our server, Piper, was very friendly, energetic & super helpful. The meal was delicious. I had the open-faced chickpea salad sandwich. Excellent presentation & tasty. After our meal, Piper said to take our time & enjoy the view. We never felt rushed to leave. She recommended we come back & try their other restaurant too. We will be back here & will try the other place.

Galene is not only the best restaurant in the Finger Lakes, it’s also one of the best restaurants in New York. The restaurant sits in a perfect location on Conesus Lake with amazing waterfront views. The staff were all excellent and made great recommendations. We had the wasabi caesar, tin of octopus, rigatoni w/broken meatballs, dandan noodles, Delmonico steak, and key lime cheesecake for dessert. Every dish was prepared perfectly, to the point where it was just so surprising because this level of consistency is so rare. We will definitely be back and will tell anyone visiting the area to stop in this great spot

Google
I didn't get the other dishes we ordered, but this is the Pork Ribeye, I was told by my friends that this will become one of my favorites. Yes, this Pork Ribeye was delicious, the spiced apple glaze over the mashed potatoes brought this to the next level. It was a little light, but I was content afterwards.

Google
I've been coming here since they first opened and we have been regulars of their sister restaurant ember for years before. Both restaurants are top notch. We just went Sunday July 13 for my 30th birthday. Our waitress was Caroline and was perfect in every way. Food was unbelievable as always. They have the best espresso martini I've ever had. Galene and ember are my favorite restaurants in the world. If you haven't tried galene, you have to go.

We had a delightful summer evening at Galena. We arrived a bit early for reservation and sat outside to enjoy the concuss Lake views. Our reservation was prompt even though a busy Sat pm. Terrific waitress, good food and prices. We were so pleased. will return. Nancy

Google
Great experience. Food was delicious. Service was top notch. Atmosphere was elegant casual. Go casual, suit, or dress. Felt like vacation. Had the same vibes as USVI.

Yelp
This was our first time at Galene's but it definitely won't be our last! We started outside on the patio overlooking Conesus Lake where the views were incredible!! The outdoor bartenders were attentive and friendly!! Our meal was one of the best!! Our waitress Allie made us feel welcome and explained ALL of the specials in detail!! We loved the beet and feta salad and the homemade bread was excellent!! We tried the foil haddock chioppino and the homemade rigatoni with meatball and sausage pieces!! Looking forward to returning soon!!

Kelly R.

Yelp
Lovely setting on the north end of Canesus Lake, charismatic servers... and then there is the food. And the wine! Some of my local favorites, including Dr. Constantine Frank's Gruner, Prince Edward Island oysters from our friends in North Canada, house-handmade pastas soaked in clam and Italian sausage Parmesan broth.

Yelp
Beautiful location on the water & accessible by boat. Ambiance was lovely. Food was solid. Only knock was they don't do any modifications or substitutions (ie no adding a protein to a salad), which can be limiting depending on your group diet restrictions. Otherwise our waiter was friendly and attentive.

Yelp
The ambiance of this place is modern and super cozy but also fancy. Loved sitting in here. I was on a date so I didn't even try any of the bread because he wasn't eating it and I didn't want to look like a fatso. Big mistake, wish I tried it. It looked really good. We both enjoyed the oysters. My Caesar salad was pretty much a pile of parmesan cheese on a plate. Very strange. And pretty disappointing... when all you ask for is a Caesar salad and they give you a pile of cheese. Service was good. Will come back to try a different meal.

Yelp
Delicious food, drinks and fresh oysters. What more could you want? I highly recommend the steak & frites as an entree. The steak was cooked perfectly and the frites had the perfect crisp. We will definitely be back to Galene's!

Yelp
The food was great, with a strangely eclectic menu of Italian and Asian. I enjoyed my Dan Dan Noodles and my wife liked her pasta. Only issue I had here the service. Good, not great. They overcharged us for something and fixed it quick. We didn't get any bread to start the meal. It just seemed slow.

Yelp
This restaurant has nice ambience along the lake and has attentive management. That was not enough to justify more than one star. First, they lost our reservations. We were then seated in a very noisy area next to the toilet and could not converse (it was a special evening for us). Then they told us that they were out of the two entrees that we went there for to begin with. And it was only 6:45 PM. We waited. And waited. After about 50 minutes they told us they had lost our orders. After another 10-15 minutes we were served, but they brought out someone else's order. Finally we were served our orders. I am sorry to report that the food was mostly mediocre. The fish fry was flavorless. My shrimp salad was made with poorly breaded shrimp (and why pair breaded shrimp with a salad???). Our third guest ordered the eggplant dish which, by contrast, was quite good. In their favor, the management was apologetic and did take $20 off the meal, which was over $100 for three. That was a bit steep given that we did not order appetizers, drinks, or deserts. I don't think it was enough of a discount to make up for a real comedy of errors. I think this restaurant could do a lot better and is in a position to be a really quality place. I hope they improve.

Yelp
We had dinner here while in the area on vacation. We had a reservation at 6PM and the parking lot was full when we arrived so parked on the grass along the highway. We had a short wait for our table and during the wait a spot fortunately opened up so we scooted out to move the car off the road. The cocktail list had a lot of great options; I went with the spicy Manhattan which was quite good. It definitely has a bit of a kick from the chili peppers! We shared a whipped ricotta appetizer which was very good and definitely large enough to share. For my entree, I had the gnocchi with chicken confit and wild mushrooms. This was excellent! They use a lot of local suppliers for ingredients which is always nice to see. The only area for improvement we saw was that entrees came out before we finished our appetizer and then we were asked about ordering dessert when we were still finishing entrees. It was not near closing, there were lots of open tables, and we weren't dawdling, so I'm not sure what the rush was about. I did get a dessert, a Mexican pots d creme and it was excellent. I'm not sure if maybe they get a lot of customers who want to get in and out quickly? It was our last night of vacation though, and we weren't in a rush.

Yelp
Ambiance ..10 stars! Food..10 stars Service..10 stars Price..for all the above ...price worth it. Really in today's world on par, but then you add that view and tastiness of food! I was very happy with couple appetizers and their wonderful cocktails!! Red Shrimp..luscious! Fried pickles! What? How could I love s fried pickle! Very different! But those cocktails!!!!!

Yelp
What a great place to enjoy dinner! The options are endless - from dining inside, to dining in the enclosed patio, to waterfront quick order meals - you can't go wrong. We were sat on the enclosed patio for dinner and everything from the waitstaff to the bartenders and the food was just exceptional. The cocktails are very fairly priced and well crafted. Restaurant offered a bread plate with homemade bread assortment that included fresh baked and warm options including fresh hush puppies. So very good! We ordered oysters and shrimp for the appetizer. Both were fresh and flavorful. Dinner was the salmon with sweet potato purée and cucumber salsa. Cooked to perfection and great on a warm summer night. The pork was breaded perfectly, crispy and light with a mole sauce that is to die for. Topped with a fresh greens and sour crème. Just delicious. Prices were spot on for the level of service and quality of food. Our meal included two craft cocktails, two tall draft Guinness, shrimp, oysters, two entrees, and one dessert was about $130 plus tip. If you are looking for a nice night out, exceptional service, and food full of flavors that are perfectly balanced - this is the place!

Yelp
Everything was wonderful. Our server was spectacular, loved the coconut shrimp appetizer, good bread, and the steak-frites entrée was very good. The steak was cooked as requested, the sauces were delicious too. The fries were plentiful...I would prefer the dish served on a plate (not a bowl) so that the fries did not get soggy. As served there was sort of a poutine-vibe. We enjoyed the budino dessert. The restaurant is lovely. There is a lively bar, inside seating, three-season room area, outside bar and patio seating. I loved the options and lake view. Negative: Galenes applies a 3% "convenience fee" to every bill. Whose convenience? Becoming an common practice, stoking inflation.

Eden O.

Yelp
Pros: Beautiful building, stunning view of the lake. The menu has a wide range of creative and appealing offerings, and the food was prepared well. Cons: It's fairly loud and difficult to carry on a conversation. Biggest drawback- horrible service. The waitress acted bothered to serve us, and rushed through our meal. She was REALLY rude.

Yelp
Went to Galenes for my wife's birthday and it was a great. The menu has something for everyone and prices are fair. Both my wife and I had the deconstructed beef Wellington which was a bargain for the amount of beef. Service was great and wine pours are generous. Cocktails are fun and unique. Next time we will try the porch for a more casual experience.

Yelp
Late to party! Gotta to review this place when we was there in May. The building isnt hard to find, its next to lake... I took my date out to that nice restaurant for our dinner date. Hostess is really nice & friendly. She got us a table at patio window something like that. The view to lake is absolutely pretty!! Waitress is nice & friendly because she realized that we're deaf. She showed us on menu for drinks. We ordered drinks. She delivered us perfectly. Food? We found what we wanted & ordered. She delivered food to us & we looked at.. wow. Fancy. We took bite.. hey, its pretty good!! Waitress is doing fabulous job! We enjoyed our dinner and view to lake! Price? Little bit pricey but hey, its dinner date :) that place is definitely good for date night or family dinner. Probably will come back again if we want have our dinner date..

Yelp
I recently went here for a Sunday brunch with my family. Service, food, and ambiance was excellent. Beautiful location overlooking Conesus Lake with a cozy fireplace. We'll be back again soon!
google avatar

Tim W.

Yelp
I stopped by for brunch during a beautiful Sunday drive and was truly delighted. The lakeside setting was spectacular and the staff was friendly and inviting. I sat out back looking outward on Conesus Lake sipping a summer drink and eating my sandwhich while soaking in the sunshine. Plenty of outdoor seating, great food and drinks all at an affordable price.

Yelp
I do not recommend this establishment. When asked if cheese could be removed from the salad we were told Chef Liam would not alter any dish and the only option was a side salad with no dressing. The menu specifies no substitutions however it does not say no removal. Substitute in American English is defined as a person or thing acting or serving in place of another. Remove in American English is defined as to move by lifting, pushing aside or taking away. Asking to remove the cheese is not substituting the cheese. On top of their inability to REMOVE not SUBSTITUTE any item on the menu they are incapable of serving the correct beverage when ordered. Both drinks were wrong. We left due to an unbelievably terrible experience and went to their sister location in Livonia, Ember. Ember was excellent. Skip this sorry excuse for an establishment and go to the OG Ember. It's amazing how the same ownership produces operational excellence at Ember and a complete shit show at Galene's. I highly recommend training Galene's on the processes from Ember - you may then have a restaurant worth visiting.

Yelp
Wow! We finally found a restaurant in the area that is actually very good! We moved to Farmington from central Connecticut almost 2 years ago and have been looking for a fine dining experience close to home. We were so disappointed with so many local eateries we were resigning ourselves to trudging into Rochester to find good food. But we struck paydirt with Galene. We will be back often. #SoonToBeRegulars!
google avatar

Yelp
Very excellent. My only complaint is, although the drinks are well mixed, they will not satisfy those of us from keuka wine country in terms of portion.

Liz L.

Yelp
The food was excellent. My favorite dish was the scallops from the starters menu but I had it as my main with a salad. My party ordered several appetizers, such as the garlic bread, the Swedish meatballs and the fried pickles, they were all delicious. I would never have ordered the fried pickles because I imagined a fried pickle. That was way off from what we got. I loved it. We were a party of six celebrating three birthdays and were given a semi private room with a beautiful view of the lake. The service was very good. We had only one complaint, which was they ran out of the only chicken entree on the menu and they ran out of ginger ale. Not a big deal but they charged us for the ginger ale, anyway!! Apparently, this happens on Sundays, running out of things. All in all it was a wonderful experience.
google avatar

Nancy F.

Yelp
Food is very good. Twice we've had John as our waiter and he has been outstanding. This is a major upgrade to the location from previous owners. One small suggestion to improve...the last time we were there the staff was slow to remove dirty dishes between courses and at the end.
google avatar

The Basic Blonde ..

Yelp
There's so much to love about Galene! The restaurant has a great vibe, super trendy. Indoors, the atmosphere is a bit more high end, while outside is more casual which is perfect if you come via boat. The food and drinks are also excellent. Some of my favorite dishes include the Cajun Shrimp, Port & Beef Meatballs, Salmon and the shrimp salad. They also have a raw bar with a variety of options. If you're looking for a fun place on the lake, Galene is a great choice!

Lisa G.

Yelp
Excellent food, service, wonderful lake view dinning. Beautiful decor and friendly staff. Thank you for the superior service & gourmet meal. Shrimp, oysters & salmon delicious. You made our team celebration an amazing event! Going back soon

Robert S.

Yelp
Best dining experience in Livingston County! Food is always outstanding and the location is beautiful - lakefront at its best.

Megan S.

Yelp
I got the vegetable ceviche and the salmon dish. Both were amazing. My hubby enjoyed his plates as well. Top 5 meals I've ever had! Great location on the lake for nice views.
google avatar

Stephanie P.

Yelp
It was okay. I took my wife here for a valentines dinner. We waited there at the entrance even tho we had a reservation and people came in behind us yet they were still being seated before us. Finally get a table and it's out back facing the servers desk... then the only thing my wife wanted was a steak and of course they had just put in the last order just before arriving to our table. The food was ok, but the experience was not there. We had wanted to try this place so I thought I'd surprise her, but it would probably be better for like a mid summer stop off the water.

Wayne W.

Yelp
Went here for a drink the other night. Enjoyed it so much had apps, dinner, and dessert sitting at bar. Honestly not my typical type of place to go. Everything we had was excellent. Wife swore by the Espresso Martini made by Jane as one of the best. Jane's service was fantastic and on point. Highly recommend a bar spot whenever she is on! PS...I never met or saw Jane before...real recommendation!
google avatar

Becca B.

Yelp
We stopped here on our to our weekend getaway and it was such a perfect spot! Beautiful for a date night or to gather with some friends or family for good food/scenery. There is a patio out back you can walk to that overlooks the lake, absolutely stunning. We received great, friendly service from the hostess and waiter! The bartender served us some fairly tasty drinks and the meals they served were fantastic! Brought out complimentary bread (multiples types) which is always my favorite part lol! Go check it out!!

Rich G.

Yelp
I was there when it was Hook & Spoon - COMPLETELY different restaurant. They did a great job with the interior - no more cold draft when someone opens the door ;-). Services was fantastic! Thank you... Dinner - Wow... We had the Garlic Bread, Oysters, Shrimp as the apps, I had the Filet and my wife had the Fried Cauliflower... All of it was awesome! I hope round two will be just as good if not better... You will not be able to get into that place in the summer... just sayn ;-)
google avatar

Charles F.

Yelp
We reserved at 715 for a group of 4, but came at 645 to have a drink before dinner. the bar was chaos. We waited at least 20 minutes to order a drink. We were seated at 800 for ou 715 reservation. Our meals came around 900. The food was good but we were too hungry hy then to really appreciate. I would not recommend.
google avatar

Matt C.

Yelp
Huli Huli chicken skewers are a must. The pit beef sandwich and the pork cutlets are hits too. Nice view/atmosphere, good service, great food.

Marcia W.

Yelp
A lovely space with a lovely view. An exceptional young waiter. A dirty menu. Disappointing food. Won't be back. A shame.

Charlotte W.

Yelp
We sat outside and ordered food from the walk up window. The girl helping us was so rude! She definitely did not enjoy her job or have any clue about customer service. My husband and I were looking forward to a relaxing dinner with a lovely view but it was tainted by this staff member and a loose German Shepard wandering around urinating on the tables and chairs around us. We won't be back.

Karen G.

Yelp
Went to the bar for a drink and light food. The counter was a mess and the bartenders were awful. One scowled the entire time and never acknowledged us and the other kept checking her phone. We ended up leaving after about a half hour with the counter still a mess and never being waited on for food and it wasn't crowded. Used to enjoy this place but not sure we will return again. Disappointing!!!

Eric K.

Yelp
Had dinner here tonight. The service was great. The food was fantastic. We had the Smoked Salmon Toast and the Peel and Eat shrimp as appetizers. Both were really good the shrimp were super tender and the garlic butter is delicious. We both had the filet (deconstructed beef Wellington). Really good. Heads up, they do not cook the beef to your desired temperature, you get it how they cook it. It came out just about medium, which is how we like it, so it was perfect. We had the butterscotch pudding and the key lime cheesecake for desert. They were great too. Absolutely nothing to complain about here. If there was one thing...it was a Sunday and the menu is limited on Sundays. No big deal, there were plenty of options. Good beer list and the cocktails were good too. If you have never been here, it is right on the water too, so great views. Recommended!!

Grace K.

Yelp
Went here for dinner one night there was a great atmosphere and good food for a reasonable price. We got the mussels as an appetizer it was delicious. We got the blackened shrimp and salmon for entrées both very good. Although at first we thought the portions look small we were actually full. We then got the blueberry dessert really delicious. Our only complaint was that the busser kept clearing our plates before we were done. It was actually really awkward because we kept trying to take the plates back. Can she relax maybe? Jesus, was on the verge of telling the owner how relentless she was to take my plate! Regardless, we will definitely be going back!
google avatar

Mark K.

Yelp
Excellent service (Morgan)! The food was terrific...who does Red Snapper fire their Beer Battered Fish? Galene does and wow! The Pit Beef was chosen by three of our party also the Fried Green Tomato Sandwich and the Pork Rib Eye were all top notch! I'm not big on dessert but I'm glad I had the Orange Creme Brulee. We'll be back!

Jeff S.

Yelp
This was a terrible experience. Server had no information for our questions. No substititions??!!?? Wanted fries instead of grits. Nope . Was told no. Wanted to order a meal Togo and was told kitchen was closed. An hour and a half before closing. Very poorly run.
google avatar

Chad S.

Yelp
Went and checked this place out today for a drink! Glad they were able to keep a restaurant in this location and reopened something new! Right on the water - you can't beat the view!
google avatar

Siegfried P.

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise--wonderful view of Lake Conesus (only kidding about that putting Lake first makes it sound so much larger!) matched by a menu that is interesting and creative, plus the food was first rate. Our server John) had to explain many elements of the menu and preperation, but he was so good at it. The portions were over size (for me) and the price was affordable. A pleasant surprise because it's a very tony looking establishment. We waited so long for this place to open up again. The previous owners failed to ignite any sparks. But Galene is on the map to be a big hit this summer for sure. Can't wait to return.

Richard R.

Yelp
My wife and I went to Galene's in Lakeville for our anniversary dinner. We both chose the petit filet for our main course after sharing a skewered chicken appetizer and found the tastes very delicious and the beef very tender. The seating allowed a great view of Conesus lake as well. Service was good and We were overall pleased.

Todd V.

Yelp
The food was excellent and server was pleasant and efficient. A couple of suggestions: -The bartender had her extended family at the bar including a young baby and a toddler, very cute but listening to a baby squealing for it's mother does not make for a relaxed dinning experience. -When the check arrived it had a credit card surcharge added. This is highly unusual and on top of a $225 dinner seemed a bit petty. I have dined nationally and internationally for over 40 years and have only encountered this practice once before. I'm sure smartly run establishments have found ways to offset credit card fees.
google avatar

Frank T.

Yelp
Went there the first time since it was Hook and Spoon. Hostess seemed unorganized. Wasnt clear what they wanted from us? After a several minutes of waiting to hear if they had a table or if we had to wait nothing but still not even eye contact. We then asked if we could sit at a hi top in the bar area and they said that would be fine. After waiting for about ten minutes I asked if the hi tops had service or if we had to order at the bar and was told they would get someone to wait on us. Another 10 minutes of waiting we left! Wont be going back

Yelp
Heard good things and very much looked forward to coming to Galene. We were absolutely floored! The plates may seem small at first glance- but we left absolutely stuffed. We started with the mushroom arancini which was absolutely divine. They were hearty and earthy yet somehow still light. The sauce/compote they were served over complemented the arancini perfectly. I ordered the Cajun shrimp- the grill on these was utter perfection. Again, paired beautifully with everything else on the plate. My husband ordered the pork ribeye which was just out of this world. I am not a fan of pork but this was mind boggling. Hands down the best pork I have ever tasted in my life. Also ordered the wok sesame broccoli which was just to die for. This place is a gem on the lake- a complete culinary experience. We will absolutely be back- again and again and again! Thank you, Galene, for a wonderful experience and impeccable food!

John C.

Yelp
If you go out to the lake side you have to go to the far end of the building to order your food and leave your phone number so you can go pick up your food yourself. Plus your doing everything and they have enough nerve to set out a tip cup. If you want a drink you have to go to the other side of the building to get it. Plus the food is not good and not cheap. John

Yelp
Brought to you by the people who brought us Embers, just down the road. And that's why we gave it a try. This place has been beautifully remodeled, sits on the lake. It has a great bar, with a very competent and innovative bartender. We were served by Mackenzie, a charming and enthusiastic individual who was helpful and knowledgeable. This was our second time here in three weeks. everything was so good our first time that we ordered entirely diffent items this time. Except for the garlic toast. We absolutely wanted that again.I had a pound of red shrimp, tender, sprinkled with paprika, to be dipped in garlic butter. And the smashed cauliflower potato side with a deep, flavorful gravy. my daughter had the wok broccoli, outstanding, my wife pepper skewers. We forced ourselves to try the blueberry, and the key lime desserts. I don't usually bother with dessert, but these were both exceptional. We have some good restaurants in Canandaigua, but Galene is well worth the ride.

James W.

Yelp
Grew up in Hemlock. I live at the lake. took a party of 8 to dinner last night. service by Jessie was awesome plus Chelsea the manager was there to keep checking on us. the Chef and his team put out amazing food and quickly and hot. oh yeah delicious. all the plates were clean, no leftovers. you have got to check them out. plus the view is outstanding being on north end of the lake. Will be back soon jim

Mark B.

Yelp
Great menu! The garlic toast was amazing. Great seafood selections, the grouper over fried green tomatoes was awesome. I had beer batter grouper as well and it was perfect.

Dennis D.

Yelp
Well, went to Galene last night. It was AWESOME! Great food, great drinks, great service great prices! Literally every person at the table raved about the meal! Acoustics are much improved so even an old geezer can hear conversation. Wonderful to have another good restaurant in the hood!
