Walking into Galería Botello felt like stepping into a different rhythm of Old San Juan, one that’s quiet, warm, and undeniably soulful. The gallery is beautifully curated, and the energy inside makes you slow down and take in every piece. There’s a sense of history in the sculptures, a softness in the paintings, and a reverence for artistry that you don’t always find in busy tourist areas. The staff were kind and welcoming without hovering, giving us space to explore and really feel the art. I loved the balance of classic elegance and bold contemporary pieces; everything felt intentional. If you’re visiting Old San Juan and looking for something deeper than the usual shops and selfies, Galería Botello is worth the stop. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave.

Great place to see and buy art. Staff and owners are friendly and helpful. A must-stop for any art lover visiting Old San Juan.

This artist is awesome, you want to add a unique piece to your interior garden? Check his sculptures, they are out of this world. Also his paintings are excellent, a great addition to any living room. My personal opinion, he is the Latin Picasso. When in Puerto Rico, visit his art gallery in Calle Del Cristo, Old San Juan. One thing... if you like cats... he is a cat person, so you can expect some incredible cat sculptures.

Lovely free art gallery in Old San Juan. Paintings and sculptures are imaginatively displayed, including a photogenic inner courtyard-like space with a small tiled fountain and plants.

On the recommendation of a local artist, we stopped by Galeria Botello to check out his art… it was very interesting, very original! Not our cup of tea, but we could see why he’s popular. Several other artists/sculptors have their works displayed there. If you’re looking for quality local artwork, Galeria Botello is worth walking through!

This may be my favorite art gallery in the world. I ended up here magically on the recommendation of a gallery host at the Museo de Puerto Rico. She said if I like Angel Botello’s work that I should check out his son’s gallery in Old San Juan. I walked in and didn’t even make it half way through the shop before spending a lot of money on an INCREDIBLE piece by local Puerto Rican artist, Juan Ramon Velazquez. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. Everyone here is super friendly and the art is other worldly.

It was amazing! The art is mind blowing. The owner gave us a private tour and explained the history and inspiration behind each piece. Located in Old San Juan and a must see if you are an art lover and in the area

Definitely the highlight of my vacation- a visit to a quaint Spanish rustic art gallery called Botello. It's been ages since I've visited a gallery showing where there is a clear muse. It's almost like the muse is a spirit is the guide which the artist takes inspiration from to create.

A beautiful gallery in the prior home of Angel Botello, now run by his son Juan, who kindly brought us upstairs to see the whole collection. The works beautifully show the progression of his art. Many other artists also displayed and for sale.

Best gallery we ran across in Old San Juan. Lots of Botello and yes Juan Botello is related. Knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant. Cool space, not cramped or stuffy. Also had a Dali lithograph. Worth checking out.
