On a side street, just steps off of the Malecon is this wonderful shop of Mata Ortiz hand painted pottery. I had been to the gallery next to it a few years ago but never had the time to stop in. It was a wonderful experience. The owner, Carolina was warm and friendly- and very informative about the style and the making of this very delicate 'round bottomed' pottery. After spending the better part of an hour looking at the different pieces and talking with Carolina, I finally chose a piece that now sits behind glass in my home. This is superb pottery. Bring your wallet! If you are looking for some great original pieces-this is the place!

Great little gallery with pottery from Mata Ortiz. If you are a collector, or love beautiful pottery it’s a must visit.

If you like to get that 'real art feeling'--the one that sends you into another realm--PV is often lacking. This gallery is the exception. Exquisite objects displayed perfectly. Prices are amazing for the value (but you'll usually pay above $100, so don't be expecting tourist trap prices).

They have a fine collection of Mata Ortiz pots, very well curated. The owner is super charming!

Lovely little gallery with well curated collection of Mata Ortiz pottery. The pieces are amazing and the gallery owner. Carolina, is knowledgeable and patient. She answered all of my questions and gave me lots of space to look at each piece. If you are in PV and at all interested in pottery, this place is a must visit. Beautiful pottery, but the woman working here is straight up looney. And by "working", I mean that she probably spent most of the day streaming TV shows on her device before I walked in. I asked for permission to use the restroom, to which she awkwardly replied yes. After I came out, the crazy lady was standing by the door and said in dramatic and exasperated fashion,"I was worried. That took a long time. I don't know you. There you go." showing me the door. What a wack job that lady was. I would never buy anything from or set foot here again.

If you want the feeling of amazing art curated and presented with incredible style, this is the best place in Puerto Vallarta. The owner is very knowledgeable about the art and the artists and easy to talk with. These are artworks, but still affordable.
