Galeria Perdana in Langkawi a museum showcase the gifts ...Galeria Perdana on Langkawi is a specialty museum established by former Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, showcasing gifts he received during his extensive tenure. The collection includes various items such as silver, textiles, weapons, musical instruments, Islamic art, porcelain, and crystal. The building features distinct architectural elements, including internal and external courtyards, a post-and-beam structure, a tiered roof, and walls with timber latticework and stained glass.

Visited Galeria Perdana and overall it was a good experience. The place is nicely maintained and still has many interesting items on display. However, I remember visiting when I was younger and there used to be even more things to see like Tun Mahathir’s home theatre room and some other unique sections, which seem to be gone now. I really miss that part as it used to make the place feel more complete and exciting. Still, it’s a nice museum to visit and learn from, but I do feel it used to have more charm back then.

For those who loves history and everything related to it, this is the place to be. Be mesmerised by the interior design of the place apart from the interesting collections from all over the world, given to the Prime Minister as a token of appreciation and as a gift. Some are very unique and specially made, which is the only one in the world. Some are gifts from head of states that's legendary in itself. Dont miss this even if your stay is short.

Extraordinary to see a museum of this quality on such a small island. Dedicated to the long tenure of public service by Tun and his wife, the museum displays possessions and gifts received by the 4th Prime minister over several decades. Extraordinary to learn that Tun is president again even though he's in his 90's. Only RM10 entry fee and there was no one else there during my visit. This is a big museum dedicated to one man and is spread across two, two storey buildings connected by an enclosed passage way. Must Visit !!!

A lot of Tun staff stored here. Spend almost 2 hours here. Big space for showcase. Well maintain. The parking is a bit far to the entrance. Anyway is a good experience to view this place. Worth a visit and the ticket is cheap too.

A dedication to an exemplary leader the like of which is rare and second to non. I was really moved by the mere thought the Dr. Mahathir put on display so many artifacts, presents he received during his tenure of Office on display in this dedicated gallery. Many salutes and hats off for him..

This gallery is unlike any other I've visited, as it is a private collection of gifts and awards for Prime Minister Mahathir bin Mohamad. There is everything from congratulatory medals to African carvings to Chinese pottery to classic cars to golfing trophies. The only common thread to these pieces is that they were all at one time owned by the same man. Many of the pieces were interesting, and the museum is well designed. The infrastructure has not been kept up as well as it might have been, but still an outstanding display. And I was amazed that the prime minister made a point of displaying all of these pieces for the public to view. In my mind, every Malaysian should make a point to see this exhibit as a part of recent local history.
