Galeria River

Galeria River in Ljubljana Super location and very spacious rooms! The room was really nice with great modern showers and the location couldn’t be better. However, there’s no air conditioning, and in August it felt like a sauna. Some portable airco units would really help. Also, there’s no breakfast offered.

The apartments are very well located, just a few minutes walking from the city center. There are restaurants nearby and the staff was nice. The room itself was a bit small (booked an economy one), but there was a nice closet for storage as well as a small corridor as a part of the room with two rocking chairs. The bathroom was also small, with a tight shower but again, enough for a few days.|Nearby there a commonly used pick up/drop off spot for day tours and also for the GoOpti shuttle to/from the airport which was very handy for us.||The area of the room itself was not a problem, but there are some details that could me improved, such as the cleanliness of the bathroom, the (tight) shower doors that don’t fully close, the bed that was comfortable but way too loud and squeaky, enough to wake us up while moving. The bedside lamp was sort of broken. Also, there are no hangers on doors or walls for you to hang your bath towels to dry (luckily, they were replaced after 2 days), there’s no storage in the bathroom for utilities (just the sides of the sink). Also, there was a little window in the bathroom that was only half-covered by a (too small) curtain, which was kind of hard to get over when showering since there were windows on the opposite building.||Overall, the location makes this a great choice, the price was also a very good find, but I would advise to not book the economy room. I will probably stay again if I return to Ljubljana but will just book a different room.

The location is fantastic. We had a double room with river view but it should really be called a castle view because you can't actually see the river even though it is in front of you. The room was exactly like the photo, very spacious and comfortable. Wifi was not great in the room which has a fridge, kettle, microwave and basic utensils. You need to access the rooms by stairs - no lift in this old building. Very secure.||This photo that shows up on some booking platforms suggests a green patch and it doesn't really look like the reality, but that is not a problem - it is just that I did not 'recognise' the place when we were dropped off, but we loved it anyway, and these things are probably hard to change on other websites.||I would not hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended and reasonably priced (even for South Africans).

We have just completed a four-night stay at Galeria River, and loved it!||We sensed all would be well from the very helpful, and warm-hearted, emails we received before travelling from the Reception team. Ines greeted us on arrival, and went out of her way to make us feel welcome.||We stayed in Room 2, which was clean, comfortable, catered for what we wanted, and had glorious views.||The location of Galeria River was perfect for us - on the edge of the pedestrian-only inner-city - and within a twenty minute stroll of nearly all the main sights, cafes, restaurants, bridges, dragons (!), etc. In fact, many are within a five-to-six minute stroll.||We loved Slovenia; we loved Ljubljana (first time in both); we loved staying at Galeria River; we were really well looked after by Ines and her colleagues!||Thank you.

Wonderful stay at the Galeria River in old town Ljubljana. Within walking distance to restaurants, cultural and historical attractions. Our room was spacious, clean and quiet. Definitely recommend!

We will come back. |Ljubjana and the surrounding area is a wonderful aim for holidays or week-end and staying in Galeria River is in the old town near all interesting spots. The travel in the town are very easy and we enjoyed too the restaurant with fine cook.

A good place to stay in Ljubljana. Id say location is almost perfect - you're at the nicer end of the central river section/old town, not far away from lots of shops and cafes and restaurants, yet also not too close so it isnt really busy and loud outside. ||The receptionist on arrival was excellent and helpful. ||We booked a river view room. I was a little underwhelmed. The room was big and nice, and bushy trees can't be helped, but we couldn't see the river at all, or even many building etc for that matter. Mostly just trees and the path out front as we were on the first floor. Not great after paying extra for a "river view" room and seeing all these nice photos online. I asked if they had a "river view" room on a higher floor for better views but nothing was available. ||We were there for our anniversary and I mentioned this in advance. I received a response in advance too, and the receptionist also said "we'll do something very nice for you". However, we didn't receive anything. This was probably an innocent mistake and forgotten, and we don't expect to receive anything BUT after being told they'd do something for us, again we were left underwhelmed when this wasn't the case. ||There's no air con, which means at night we had the fan on and windows wide open, which isnt then great for noise of passers by and the nearby main road.||On day 1 my wife had a shower and after 2 minutes the water went cold. We waited about 40 minutes (including memtioning this to reception who told us to wait half an hour) and still no hot water, so i had to have a cold shower. It seemed ok the other days but again, not ideal on day 1 to have no hot water. ||Whilst here, we also asked for breakfast tea bags, but they didn't have any. Not a big issue at all, but a suggestion to maybe have these in stock for future guests and not just fruity teas.||Overall, a nice building, location, receptionist and room, but left feeling a bit underwhelmed or let down in a few areas.

I had a one-night stay to renew my passport, and had a wonderful experience at the hotel. Wonderful, helpful, friendly staff; great location; and the amenities in the room, including a fridge, microwave, kettle, and dishes, helped make my stay even more pleasant. Thanks Galeria River for your warm welcome and generosity! One caveat for folks who have trouble climbing stairs is that there is no elevator in the hotel.
