A group of us came in tonight as a walk-in, unsure as to whether there would be a table as Llangollen was so busy. We were so pleased with the excellent service- very attentive and the drinks and food came so quickly! Really recommend the mulled wine and mushroom bourginon for a festive treat. Excellent service , food and value for money. Diolch yn fawr

As a 50-year-old walker who’s visited more pubs and wine bars than I can count, I can honestly say Gales Wine Bar is something special. I dropped in on open mic night and had one of the best evenings I’ve had in years. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the music was absolutely fantastic, easily the best open mic I’ve ever experienced. The performers were brilliant, and there was a great sense of community in the room. A big thank you to Anton, who greeted me with a smile and a kind word even while serving several people at once. It was such a genuine welcome. And Lizzie was lovely, she always smiling, helping people find their seats, and even offering table service, which made the whole evening feel relaxed and well looked after. If you enjoy good wine, friendly faces, and great live music, Gales is the perfect place to be. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.

This place was a joke. We were told food was going to be 30 minute wait but we ended up waiting an hour and a half for food and they all came at separate times? Staff were rude, we felt judged and disliked. They kept forgetting what we ordered? Place wasn’t that busy and an Atmosphere that was depressing and no ice in drinks. We got pointed at as we left then a sarcastic farewell because we saw them pointing. Very off vibe, don't recommend if youre not a local.

Had lovely drinks and a few sharing plates here, which included oil tasting and bread which was rather fabulous. Just what the Dr ordered!

Have walked past this little bar on a few occasions and only ever pooped in for a beer or two. Last time I decided to have a quick look at the menu and I’m very glad I did! Whitebait starter was simple but delish!. Main of roasted chicken, pea puree, buttery pots and samphire was even better. Simple food cooked with real care and attention made for one of the best meals I’ve had for a very long time! Reasonably priced too and a really chilled atmosphere. Nice one!

Lovely hotel. Breakfast was the best loved it, except for 6.20 for 2 cups of tea bit steep but hey oh. Jacuzzi bath brilliant, will definitely go back

This hotel is very well positioned within Llangollen and for us it was a good choice for leaving the car and exploring. The building is old and as such all the little quirks and imperfections are expected. The room was comfortable and clean and we slept well. But if you want perfection then this isn’t the place for you. The floor of the room bowed in the middle so it felt as if you were permanently drunk! The shower was poor, little more than a dribble. Easily rectified if a little money was spent. The doors to both the room and the bathroom were ill fitting and the windows didn’t open properly. We had dinner in the wine bar which was good. Staff were really friendly but very under pressure and because of this the service let it down. Breakfast was chaotic and took over a hour to arrive from taking our order. More staff needed!! Having said that we would stay here again as we had a brilliant weekend in this beautiful town in wales.
