We visited yesterday and had some of the best food we have ever eaten, the French Toast was superb. Delicious food and drink, in a lovely location, amazing, helpful, friendly staff and dog friendly too. Our Border Terrier loved the attention. What a brilliant start to Christmas. Thank you and see you again soon, hopefully.

We have come out for a meal apparently on one of the busiest weekends of the year! With the new management It is clear that they have been run off their feet and maybe didn't expect how busy this night was going to be. We had no wait to get our table. The young lady serving us was so polite and the food was amazing! We would definitely come again ❤️

My ma & pa stayed at Gayle's for one night last November. I arranged the booking though a lady called Hester as this was a surprise for my "oldies" joint 80th birthday present. They were traveling on the next day to Rhyl to see Elvis (he was very good apparently). There was a bit of confusion when they first arrived with the change of ownership of the accommodation where they were staying. I wasn't made aware and it did cause a bit of confusion as the name had changed (without a paddle). The accomodation was nice, a bit dated but fine Ma & Pa loved their evening meal and two bottles of red. The restaurant was busy which is always a good sign. The Welsh breakfast the next morning I am told was extremely good too. The chef was going to show my ma a way of preparing some dish but then the restaurant became busy once more. All in all a wonderful experience for them with some class food and nice and friendly staff. A shout must go out to Hester for helping with this and letting me pay after the event. Very trusting. There was just a bit of confusion with the bill due to new members of staff and change of ownership but all sorted now. I do think the £6 per person breakfast voucher is a bit tight judging what £6 actually buys. I can't wait to visit myself for a few nights when we do a spot of travelling on my motorbike. Just hope they can cater for the funny one!

I recently brought friends here for breakfast and it was delicious! Scrambled egg and bacon done just right and my friend said the creamy mushrooms on toast were the best he'd ever had. Thanks, I'll be back soon!

To be fair, this building is very old. But very little maintenance has been done for a long time. The staff were friendly and are trying hard but the whole place is run down. Floors in the bar are sticky so are the tables. The establishment runs a bar/restaurant/wine shop and I think they are trying to do it all but failing miserably. ‘Reception’ was in the wine shop office with boxes all over the floor, it looked like it was undergoing a major renovation. Very disorganised in general. The room was a decent size and thank god the bed linen was clean though obviously old. The toilet was clean but the shower was very mouldy. I elected not to use it as we were leaving early the next day and I knew I could shower at the next hotel. Parking is very limited but that was our experience in general around the country towns in the UK. The photos on Booking.com and Trip Advisor are very out of date and so not reflect the true state of this hotel.

This hotel is very well positioned within Llangollen and for us it was a good choice for leaving the car and exploring. The building is old and as such all the little quirks and imperfections are expected. The room was comfortable and clean and we slept well. But if you want perfection then this isn’t the place for you. The floor of the room bowed in the middle so it felt as if you were permanently drunk! The shower was poor, little more than a dribble. Easily rectified if a little money was spent. The doors to both the room and the bathroom were ill fitting and the windows didn’t open properly. We had dinner in the wine bar which was good. Staff were really friendly but very under pressure and because of this the service let it down. Breakfast was chaotic and took over a hour to arrive from taking our order. More staff needed!! Having said that we would stay here again as we had a brilliant weekend in this beautiful town in wales.

Hotel is generally okay. Rooms were comfortable, clean and had all we needed. The car park is, however, very small and can't accommodate all guests cars. We had to park on residential streets as all the towns long stay car parks were full too. There was also LOT of noise as there was a live rock band playing in the courtyard. They stopped at around 10.45 which was fine but it took until after midnight for the merry crowd to dissipate with a lot of singing outside and door banging in the hotel. Even with earplugs it was impossible to sleep until the early hours. The band was very good. Don't know what nights they have bands on but it looks like a regular event. So if you want a peaceful early night then go elsewhere. If you want a lively Friday night, tuck in. Earplugs are a must!

Yelp
Yet another surprisingly amazing restaurant in Llangollen. They also have a fantastic wine bar. A great place to go for a nice dinner.
