The hotel staff are super helpful, friendly and accommodating and quick to respond! The villa was very clean and comfortable with a gorgeous view of the ocean. I found it to be very quiet and peaceful, starting with the cute little stroll through their serene gardens to the villas. It is my favorite place to stay every time I come to Galiano… well, my only place, I book my Galiano trips around availability of this hotel :). I bring my car but you definitely don’t need to if you stay here! It’s in a convenient location and they offer smart car rentals. There are also a number of public beach access points within walking (and even more if biking) distance.

We enjoyed our small wedding there this past May and Autumn could not have been better, she and her team were lovely to deal with. The food and the service was equally as great. The rooms could use a little TLC but overall it was a great experience for us and our guests.

Nice place, but I got very little sleep during our 2 night stay. We were on the lower level. Nice views, hot tub, patio, etc. but young people above us partying all night, thumping, yelling. Unable to sleep due to the noise. I ventured upstairs at 1 am to ask them to please be quiet. We were very stuffed up during our stay. Would highly recommend they remove the vanilla smelling air refreshers they are using in their bathroom. Strong & overwhelming to those sensitive to strong perfume odours. Unfortunately, we would not return or recommend if you want to enjoy peace & a restful stay if there are young people staying for wedding venues, etc. Choose an Air B&B or a VRBO, not this place.

We had the most amazing stay at Galiano Oceanfront Inn and Spa! From the moment we arrived, I was blown away by the stunning beachfront location. The view from my room was absolutely breathtaking, with the ocean waves just a few steps away. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with any requests. If you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway right on the beach, I highly recommend Galiano Oceanfront Inn and Spa. We will definitely be coming back!

Felt compelled to share my experience @ Galiano Oceanfront Inn and Spa. The property itself is gorgeous. The rose garden invites you to stop and smell. The Koi pond brings a level of tranquility. The shadow of trees, the smell of the sea and the sounds of birds make for a nice break from urban life. The room - spectacular. We stayed in an ocean front villa which frankly exceeded our expectations. The room is fully equipped for stay at home meals, the sitting room and bedroom arw large and comfortable and includes amenities such as washer/dryer, dishwasher, wine fridge etc. My favourite part is the balcony! Beautiful wood-burning fireplace, spacious jetted jacuzzi tub, a modern and powerful space heater and a view to die for! If u prefer to dine out, I highly recommend the Sunday prime rib dinner @ Atrevida. I can speak from experience: fantastic and u will not leave hungry. And the views!!! If ur looking for a bit more casual, the Pizza Patio is amaaaaazing…maybe the best pizza I’ve ever had and if ur bold enuff to try the pulled pork pizza, the applewood smoked cheese and house bbq sauce create a flavour bomb. And I left the best part for last…the team. Special shout-out to Bryan who ensured our stay was without issue or concern. He was friendly, professional and responded instantly to all requests. Another shout-out to Mia, who went over and above to not only welcome us and make us feel completely at home, and who’s professionalism and attention to detail will motivate us to return. Thank you so much Mia, we certainly appreciate it. Finally, a shout out to Dom, who personified a get it dun attitude. For example, I mentioned to Dom that the one of the latches on the gate had come loose and fallen off. I think I used the gate 15 mins later and boom: repaired. Very impressed. Bottom line, if ur looking for a peaceful, relaxing and picturesque place to get away, whether ur an individual, couple or family, I would highly recommend Galiano Oceanfront Inn and Spa as ur next vacation spot!

Great location, great views, incredible grounds, nice staff, handy to be able to rent the smart cars. Had an annoying sound going all night while sleeping, I think it was anti-rodent audio deterrent. The restaurant was mediocre. The spa massage was very nice.

What a well run - super friendly - well maintained hotel this is. Large rooms - feels brand new - beautiful patio with hot tub - fireplace and barbecue. 😎 Really enjoyed the place. ||Their restaurant which I reviewed separately was also excellent.||Will return without a doubt.

Yelp
I booked a 3 day stay here with my wife as a much needed getaway that was supposed to be relaxing and worry free but it turned into a nightmare before we even arrived. Right after I booked, I began getting inundated with redundant emails requesting the exact same information I had already provided at the time of booking. I called the front desk and was unable to reach them so I left a message. A couple of days passed and nobody had followed up so I called again with the same results so I emailed them and called again a couple of days later and finally reached someone. At this time, I tried to make a reservations at the restaurant but I was notified that the restaurant would be closed during our stay which was disappointing to say the least. They responded by upgrading us to a villa which has a fully equipped kitchenette. So I though, "No biggie, it's not ideal but that'll work", and we accepted the upgrade. At that time, I also booked a couples massage with my wife at 3:00 p.m. on the 21st of December. Shortly after I received a confusing email stating that it's 2023 and she was looking at 2024 when she booked it so it's not Saturday it's Thursday and it needs to be my wife at 1:30 p.m. and me at 3:00 p.m. Her email made no sense at all so I called back to sort out the confusion and spoke with the manager who, after a brief hold, got back to me and let me know that she had sorted it out and she had booked both my wife and I for 3:00 p.m. on the 21st. Fast forward a couple of weeks and we arrived at the inn and checked in on December 20th in the evening. The room looked great with a beautiful patio, hot tub, barbecue, comfy furniture, a great king sized bed, etc... we were impressed. But that was the only highlight of the whole stay. We had a late night and slept in til the afternoon the next day and, while we were making our late breakfast, received a call from the spa saying that we were late for our 1:30 p.m. appointment. I corrected the spa attendant, letting her know that after speaking with the manager, we had been confirmed for 3:00 p.m. for a couple's massage, but she decided to make it an argument and told me that the manager had never let her know that and that my only option was to either come right now or cancel. I decided to go speak to them in person at the spa and when I arrived there, the attendant was very rude, refused to try and work out any type of solution, and again reiterated that my only option was to either be seen at separate times or cancel the service because she was just an attendant with no power and couldn't do anything to solve this problem. She was so unhelpful that I requested a manager, but of course, conveniently, no manager was working that day. One of the RMTs came out from the back when he overheard our heated discussion and, while he was much more polite than the attendant, all he did was make excuses for the poor management and the resulting customer experience we were having. We ended up with no resolution, no solutions offered, and so, what should have been a relaxing getaway was now just an overpriced hotel stay with ZERO spa service and no restaurant. If we wanted to cook for ourselves, do dishes, and not get spa treatment for these 3 days, we could have saved ourselves the exorbitant price tag and just stayed home. If you follow my reviews, you'll see that I much prefer to leave kind words to celebrate a job well done than to leave bad ones because of poor service but this place is, by far, the most disorganized, unaccountable Mickey Mouse organization I've ever dealt with and I felt that it needed to be exposed. If you're reading this review, do yourselves a favour and AVOID THIS PLACE at all costs. It just isn't worth the headache. You'll find better views, better rooms, and exponentially better service, with dignity, at one of the other resorts on Vancouver Island like Brentwood Bay, The Kingfisher, or Tigh-Na-Mara. 0 stars

Yelp
(Delayed posting - this is regarding a trip in February 2022.) While we didn't stay at the inn, four of us went for both a meal, and (on a different day) massages. We have been here before (for the spa - restaurant was closed during COVID, when we were last there), and were thus return customers for the spa, and first-timers for the restaurant. The meal was really good; definitely good value for money (though it wasn't cheap). If you have vegetarians (like my spouse) in the crowd, the "hippie/draft dodging" history of Galiano Island means you have some pretty great options. LOVED the soup! Everyone left full, and happy. As for the massages, we all agreed they were simply TERRIFIC! Notably, Linda (who was my masseuse) gave me the best massage I have received. (I am sufficiently spoiled to have had a few...) Seriously, will plan my next trip around Linda's availability.

Yelp
We stayed in one of the villas. The view is incredible and we loved the outdoor fireplace! The property itself could have been in better shape. The coffee maker lid was broken along with the outdoor grill (they put a hot plate out there instead though). Also, the unit as a whole was not very clean. When we arrived, a couple of the dishes had caked on food on them, the toilet bowl was dirty and there was a stain that looked like blood on our bed comforter. The coffee provided on our room also was expired however they provided fresh coffee when we told them this. Finally, the first night we stayed there was a huge group staying above us. They played music loudly all afternoon until midnight with their doors open and we could hear very well. When we asked the front desk about this the next day, we were told nothing that could be done. So overall the views are incredible but cleanliness and amenities felt lacking particularly for the price. If this place got a makeover I think it could easily become a 5-star hotel.

Yelp
Very nice clean well designed place. Rooms are new and very nicely laid out. Plumbing is great quality. Comfy bed.

Yelp
We had the opportunity to visit this island over a weekend. The inn is in walking distance from the ferry so no need to bring the car over. You can hire a car from the inn for half or full day. The inn has everything you need to feel at home with the extra beautiful view and complete quiet surroundings. Hot tub, sauna and massages available. Beautiful rose garden to sit in. Plenty of walks and parks.

Yelp
It feels as if a piece of the French Riviera has been transplanted to the Gulf Islands. Gorgeous Resort and Spa that has many fun little nooks and crannies like the Goldfish Pond, and the Reading/ Board Game Room in the cellar. We've used the Spa and Restaurant on previous visits as well, and overall Customer Service is always a personable experience. Fine attention to little details make this a great destination for a retreat or vacation. We paid a little over $300 per night, but the room isn't typical budget motel - you can get a private outdoor patio w/ fireplace, heat lamp and bathtub, modern kitchen fully stocked with appliances, beautiful original artwork by local artists & free internet and TV channels... With many other hotels, these would be expensive add-ons... plus if you add this with the fact you can walk off the ferry (without bringing the car), and the very responsive and courteous resort staff, you have a very affordable luxury accommodation option on Galiano Island.

Yelp
Very disappointed with this place. Cost over $350 per night and would have expected more for that. The rooms did not have air conditioning and it was very very hot- it was hard to sleep. They didn't even have stand up fans to help the situation. There was barely any water pressure in the upstairs room, the tap was broken, the pizza oven was broken, they only had food at specific times, and when I went down for breakfast on Sunday morning (in their specific time frame), they couldn't accommodate me because they had a large table. That was the last straw for me. Apparently other people had nicer rooms with an outdoor tub, but our room was not great. I would not come back and definitely not recommend this hotel.

Yelp
It's a pretty enough spot but when I stayed there, nothing worked. the room key cards kept demagnetizing..three times in two days...the water was lost and then returned looking brackish. I thought , given the rates, they could have sprung for access to tSN on the tv but they didn't. So what was locked out three times and couldn't use the shower. Not good enough.

Yelp
We stayed here over the weekend of our wedding. We're practically locals on the island, having family and friends living on Galiano and so we'd never seen the need to stay at the hotel before. It's an expensive option, and at roughly $350 a night one might expect a little more. One of the windows in our room was broken and wouldn't close. We had a room service tray that wasn't removed and the service was above average without being particularly spectacular. But the location, just next to Sturdies bay ferry dock, and the lack of viable alternatives makes it one of the few options for accommodation if you're getting married. So on reflection the stay was average.

Yelp
The Galiano Inn is a virtually unknown place, judging from the number of people who go there, and that go to Galiano Island. If I were you, I would go there before the rest of the world finds out about it. Great Spa (ask for Luannah, but any of the therapists are terrific if she's not available); You can have a massage in your room by the fire, while your guy takes some instruction on how to do it just right; For food, there is the best pizza I have ever had, even in Vancouver or SF, from an authentic Italian wood-fired oven outdoors; and speaking of wood-fired, so are all the fireplaces. Jennie who is the guru of customer service and Brenda who is the breakfast waitress are both great at telling you where to go. In a nice way that is. The bakery is great for all things calorific, the Grill for music jams, Montague beach for great sunsets. And splurge (not a big splurge, but worth it) at the Inn's restaurant after. Galiano Island is my favorite place. And this small resort is perfect. It is a place you feel like you are actually "discovering" and want everyone to know about it. Wait. No, you don't. You don't really want ANYbody to know about it, because you want to keep it for yourself. It's like being one of the "in crowd" And in this case, it's like being one of the "inn crowd". Perfect.

Yelp
My brother and I enjoyed dinner here twice in May. The service was excellent. We enjoyed chatting with the waitress whose background was very cosmopolitan. Interesting chowder. Great seafood main courses both nights. The after-dinner coffee was outstanding and the dessert presentation and taste were great.

Yelp
We stayed at the Galiano Inn midweek, so I can't speak for he weekend experience. The rooms were fantastic, with loads of amenities (in suite laundry, full kitchen, outdoor soaker tub, view of the harbour, and on and on) but there were a few unfortunate hiccups. There was no one on the front desk in the morning when we woke up, and when we finally got ahold of someone, we found out that they don't serve breakfast. We were directed to the local cafés and diners (which are excellent), so it worked out in the end. We ordered room service from the restaurant, which was amazing, but had problems getting through when they opened at 6pm. All in all, I would recommend the hotel and restaurant, just come prepared.

Yelp
It's a nice hotel to stay. We booked the villa with full kitchen, wood burning fireplace and ocean view, and they even have a washer and dryer. Walking distance from ferry. It's got a nice little tropical garden with beautiful flowers. People here are very friendly and relaxed, and they have the small town my-life-is-not-that-stressful charm. recommend it if you want to get away from the city and enjoy some peace and nature with friends or family. Not cheap if you are on budget. Overall a great place to stay. Will come back.

Yelp
We came here in November and stayed from Friday to Monday. It is beautiful here. Really nice suites (we stayed in a villa suite I believe) and every room has a view of the water and the inlet. You can see the ferries come and go. One of the nicest thing about the villa is that there is a private jacuzzi tub out back so you can soak in the jacuzzi and enjoy the view of the ocean. We went for dinner at the restaurant and they had a country night - it was super fun. During dinner they had professional dancers and opened up the dance floor to the guests. It was lots of fun and we had a great time dancing. It is a gorgeous getaway even in the winter. We definitely plan to come in the summer as well!

Yelp
We ate here last Friday evening, and the food was fresh and delicious. The service friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. We also used the spa. I had a steam room and an hour massage. The location of the cottages where the massage was offered was a peaceful setting and the massage did exactly what it was supposed to, I would definitely come back here on my return to Galiano Island

Amanda P.

Yelp
I had the total pamper package - mani, pedi, and facial. The view was amazing, overlooking the ocean. It was incredibly relaxing and the practitioner was very friendly. I sometimes don't like spas because the atmosphere can be pretentious and snooty, but it was the perfect atmosphere to relax and unwind. Face felt great - no reaction afterwards, just fresh and clean thanks to the all natural ingredients. Will be back!

Yelp
This place has a super location and view but the inn itself is in need of a serious refresh. The decor and furniture are very dated and tacky. We thought the suites came with a private hot tub but it's essentially a normal bathtub on the deck, with only a shower inside. And the 'BBQ' on the deck is a weird electric coil stove. There was an unpleasant sewer smell in the garden area.
