This is easily one of the most iconic spots in the Fort. It’s incredibly peaceful and offers stunning ocean views. I highly recommend walking along the fort walls near the lighthouse—the sea breeze and relaxed atmosphere are wonderful. It’s a perfect spot for photography, especially if you can catch the sunset. A definite must-visit!

This is one of the most beautiful and vibrant spot in the Galle Fort. The light house is very beautiful and picturesque. A lot of shops and cafes are also located nearby the light house. The area lights up beautiful during evening. Do not miss this place if you are inside the Galle Fort.

We visited the Galle Fort Lighthouse (on 2nd Nov) and had an unexpected but absolutely lovely experience. We originally thought it wasn’t possible to go inside, but then the door opened — and there stood the lighthouse keeper, Wigerarthne. He kindly guided us all the way to the top, where the view was simply magnificent. Afterwards, he took the time to explain the significance and the workings of the lighthouse. It was clear that Wigerarthne truly loves what he does. A wonderful and memorable visit – thank you, Wigerarthne!

Imals Restaurant. Amazing local food made from scratch to order. It was delicious. Seafood, vegetable, and brinjal curry was so good. Amazing place to explore. Learn Dutch colonial history, enjoy tea and snacks. Very memorable. Imals restaurant though was amazing. Went hungry and had an amazing meal. Mango lassi, lime soda water drink with sugar was refreshing. All fresh.

Jetwing Lighthouse in Galle is an outstanding property with breathtaking ocean views and a calm, refined atmosphere. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, the service is attentive without being intrusive, and the setting right by the sea is truly special. It’s an ideal place to relax while still being close to Galle Fort. A memorable stay that reflects Jetwing’s high standards of hospitality.

Galle is a nice place, especially the area around the fort. Small streets with restaurants, lovely shops and well kept buildings and houses. Very nice to walk around, enjoy a drink, have a lunch or diner.

Galle lighthouse is in Galle Dutch fort. It’s located just beside of the sea. But this lighthouse isn’t big, it’s a small size which is build in 1938. You will get some amazing view from here of the sea. We had spent some quality time here.

Galle Lighthouse ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Sunset Views & Ocean Charm The Galle Lighthouse, standing tall on the southeastern tip of the fort, offers spectacular Indian Ocean vistas and is perfect for photography enthusiasts. Highlights: Sunset walks along the ramparts, the lighthouse itself, and panoramic views of the bay. Nearby Spots: Flag Rock Bastion and small cafés—ideal for a relaxed snack or coffee. Tip: Best visited late afternoon to sunset for soft lighting and fewer crowds. Even if you’re short on time, the lighthouse alone is worth the stroll—it captures the essence of the fort’s coastal charm.
