"Modest in keeping with the sometimes understated influence of its namesake, the Camille Pissarro Gallery is a rare treat in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas. One of the original French Impressionist painters, Pissarro was born on the islandin 1830. The gallery is located in his childhood home, the loft section of a merchant's building at 14 Main Street. Several of Pissarro's Caribbean-inspired works are on display at the gallery, along with thosefrom about two dozen other artists, including Jenine Wesselman and Sylvia Kahn."
Interesting art gallery located in the same house where Camille Pissarro, the great impressionist and post-impressionist painter, lived. Very nice paintings.

Nice to visit historic birthplace. There is a plaque and some signs. Some unrelated businesses are located here, but appreciate that they support the upkeep of the historic building. THE LOCATION ON GOOGLE MAPS IS INCORRECT at time of my writing. It is on Main Street (Droningans Gade), opposite #26 but unnumbered itself. It is west of where it is located on the map.

The two sisters who run the gallery are so informative...we sat and chatted in an open air room and i was most mesmerized by their knowledge and hospitality. Had to leave as didn't want to miss my ship sailing (although wouldn't have been a tragedy, could have remained in St. Thomas)....
