I only spent "1 day" here, but I still feel the need to take the time to compliment the superb service the staff here provides. Everything is clean, everyone helpful, and the food from their kitchen is fresh and amazing. Sofia was great and even remade my meal because the staff accidentally did not pack it for take out as I requested. I truly did not care to take it home once I knew it was thrown out, but they insisted they would make it again. A perfect example of the above average hospitality. Truly a gem of a place in a gem of a city. Thank you again Sofia. I will be back to stay for longer!

This were the most comfortable beds and pillows I had in a hostel. Istayed in the mix room for 6 ppl. The team is very friendly and they keep the place super clean. There are some activities scheduled in the evenings but I was never there to check them out. It's not a party hostel (and I'm fine with that 😀). Two things I would improve would be to be able to have breakfast from 7 or at least 7h30 (it's delicious) and also would appreciate allergen information on the food. For example I'm quite sure the pastries (like the pastel de nata) at breakfast has lard on their composition which is not obvious. Ppl that do not eat pork for health, life style or religious reasons may ended up falling in a trap as they look like vegetarian dishes.

This hotel justifies the generally positive reviews. This is a quirky, boutique hotel comprised of a number buildings. Nice public spaces. We had a charming, period room. Very good breakfast included in price. Staff were all really nice and friendly. Pretty well situated for the city centre and Rio Douro/Gaia area.|No pool.

Can we get a yeehawww for this hostel! I have travelled a lot over the world and Gallery Hostel is 10/10. The breakfast, superb!!! The staff so lovely and honestly have to say one bar staff made the best cocktails I’ve ever had and that says alot coming from Melbourne, Australia. Which we are massive cocktail drinkers (snobs). I loved every minute of Gallery Hostel & would recommend any traveller to book here. It’s the art type of town, close to the river for cruise’s and all the delicious food nearby. They offer free bicycle hire, which I did and took off to a beautiful beach about 30mins ride very easy and amazing. I didn’t want to leave if im honest! Also enjoy happy hour, it’s a treat. Love love LOVEEEEE this hostel.

I accidentally booked for the wrong weekend (and without a cancellation option), but the staff went above and beyond to help me move my stay to the correct dates — completely free of charge! They could have double booked it, but they decided to help me! Everyone working here is incredibly kind, helpful, and genuinely cares about the guests. The rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable. You can really feel that they put a lot of heart into this place.

It’s an amazing hostel and I highly recommend it to whoever does a solo trip. Apart from the shared rooms, nothing is different from a starred hotel. The staff are very hospitable and welcoming；wide selection of breakfast. I’ve stayed three nights there, I had very good sleep during my stay.

This was my first Halloween and I went beyond my budget with a 35 euro party. I was hopeful when I saw the hostel had a restaurant also promoting this event. So what would you expect? Good food. We were served high school students party food. With every single thing from the market. I wonder if even the tomato soup was from the market. ‘Dj performances’? They had a Spotify playing… WITH ADS. Honestly this was the worst ‘party’ I’ve been to in my life.

This place was PERFECT. You get an hotel's experience with a hostel's price, i was truly impressed. From the moment i arrived, i was warmly welcomed & guided and i felt very safe. The room/bathroom were comfortable, spacious, clean and very well designed. Breakfast has everything you would need and the location was close to everything, as Porto is a very walkable city. This hostel deserves a title of Best Hostel in The World !! To all GH staff, thank you so much for your hard work. I'll be back !

Wow! This is the best hostel I have stayed in EVER across Europe,Australia & Asia. Amazing facilities, friendly helpful staff & a really lovely homely atmosphere. Beautiful old building, art gallery, movie room, comfy beds, clean bathrooms, large dorms, personal lights & power plugs , balconies the list goes on. Every night they have 3 course dinners cooked in house by the staff for €10 with wine. This food is really really good & a great way to meet fellow travellers. I could go on & on about this hostel, beds in dorms start at around 20€ a night just give it a visit!!

Splendid hostel, it is one of those places that doesn't look like much from the outside but once you cross the threshold this wonderful hostel opens up right before your eyes. Lovely staff, the main office is right next to the front door and also has a supply of tourist information for the city and region. Everyone I saw check in, along with myself when I arrived, was given a tour of the place, much like an orientation. There is a lovely grand wooden staircase going up the centre of the building towards the different floors. The room itself was one of the biggest hostel rooms I have stayed in and did not have bunks packed into every spare space but instead had a lovely open feel about it. There are the all important power plugs with each bed and a balcony too. The bathrooms were clean and the hot water wonderful. There was a small bar area and a movie room just beyond the bar where they had a large TV set to one wall and some comfy couches to relax in, some board games, a chess set and some books if you were after a quiet read. They had a couple of desktop computers in another room along with some travel related books in there as well and towards the back was the breakfast room where they also served a group meal that you had to sign up for in the morning. Location wise it is within a short walking distance of city centre and not much further to the river.

Can I give more stars than 5?? The hostel is incredible. Thanks to the wonderful staff for their help while I was there.
