My recent stay at Gallo Manor, specifically in what I believe was the African Room, conveyed a distinct impression of faded grandeur. It is apparent that this establishment once possessed a more distinguished character, which has unfortunately diminished over time.
Upon arrival, several aspects of the accommodation indicated a need for significant attention. The bedding in the room exhibited noticeable holes, suggesting a state of considerable wear. Similarly, the bath towels presented frayed edges, indicative of prolonged use beyond their optimal lifespan. Within the shower, a tile was cracked and observed to be detaching from the wall, a clear maintenance concern. Furthermore, the carpet in the room was visibly soiled, detracting from the overall cleanliness and presentation of the guesthouse. The door to the garden and one of the cupboards were just haphazardly closed with a chain and padlock - not something you would expect to see in a well maintained establishment.
The breakfast service proved to be a disappointment. Specifically, the omelette provided contained a substantial quantity of peppers, an ingredient that was not offered as an optional addition, leading to an unsatisfactory culinary experience. The overall quality and selection of the breakfast offerings were below expected standards.
In conclusion, I would not recommend this establishment given its current state. It is in urgent need of comprehensive maintenance and revitalization to ensure its continued viability and to meet contemporary guest expectations.
