Gallo Manor Lodge

My recent stay at Gallo Manor, specifically in what I believe was the African Room, conveyed a distinct impression of faded grandeur. It is apparent that this establishment once possessed a more distinguished character, which has unfortunately diminished over time. Upon arrival, several aspects of the accommodation indicated a need for significant attention. The bedding in the room exhibited noticeable holes, suggesting a state of considerable wear. Similarly, the bath towels presented frayed edges, indicative of prolonged use beyond their optimal lifespan. Within the shower, a tile was cracked and observed to be detaching from the wall, a clear maintenance concern. Furthermore, the carpet in the room was visibly soiled, detracting from the overall cleanliness and presentation of the guesthouse. The door to the garden and one of the cupboards were just haphazardly closed with a chain and padlock - not something you would expect to see in a well maintained establishment. The breakfast service proved to be a disappointment. Specifically, the omelette provided contained a substantial quantity of peppers, an ingredient that was not offered as an optional addition, leading to an unsatisfactory culinary experience. The overall quality and selection of the breakfast offerings were below expected standards. In conclusion, I would not recommend this establishment given its current state. It is in urgent need of comprehensive maintenance and revitalization to ensure its continued viability and to meet contemporary guest expectations.

After a week in a fancy hotel I found peace at this lodge. Everything you want from a lodge: Great location for Fourways or Sandton, Lush garden with your private patio, what a fabulous way to wake up while in the middle of the city. Staff was friendly, helpful and courteous. Nice breakfast. Will come back with the whole family.

⭐☆☆☆☆ I’ve stayed at Gallo Manor multiple times over the years through company bookings, but unfortunately, this has been the most unpleasant stay to date. It’s currently 5 degrees outside, and for the third night in a row, there has been no hot water — only cold to lukewarm at best. After a long day on your feet, all you want is to relax in a warm bath, but that’s simply not possible here right now. This is unacceptable for any guesthouse, especially one positioned as 5-star. I’m not sure I would recommend Gallo Manor again based on this experience.

Stayed in Starling room. Pilliows were torn and bedding sheets not up to standard. Water pressure in shower very poor. Personel and breakfast was wonderfull

Absolutely greedy establishment. We booked the place and within a few hours of the booking I got violently ill with food poisoning. Immediately had the booking cancelled within a few hours. The establishment refused a refund , or a booking for future voucher or even half refund not even a refund for the paid breakfast. I will never recommend them and I will never visit them ever. Disgusted . Watch out for such establishments

Gallo Manor is truly the best place to stay in Sandton. The place is secure and the people are so friendly, warm and welcoming. We cannot wait to come back and cannot stop talking about our stay there. The property is in a boomed secure area and the property also has a gate and cameras so security is not an issue. The entire team are so friendly and when we left they truly made us feel like family. The breakfast is amazing and Katlego is so attentive and helpful. The rooms are nice and big and so spacious and the gardens are so beautiful and well kept. Gallo Manor is truly worth the visit, you won't want to leave! I promise you that :)

We had a wonderful experience with my partner. We checked in to our room which was magnificent. The premises were beautiful. The only downside was the receptionist who was rude, on Friday night she mentioned that she wasn't feeling well. So she didn't tell us exactly what time is the breakfast and the process for ordering breakfast. The following morning around 9:30am we wake-up to no water or electricity, and she isn't in the front office, so we stay warm in bed only to get a call from the receptionist at 11am telling us that she is waiting for our order. When we meet her at the reception to ask about the breakfast options and the water and electricity situation, she shouted at us that it's not her fault that the generator is not working. When serving breakfast we had to ask her for certain things she would gives us attitude. This is an amazing establishment in a great neighborhood, the receptionist needs to work on her attitude.
