Gallo Nero Italian Restaurant

We really enjoyed our meal at Gallo Nero. It gave a special touch to the end of our vacation. The service was great and the food was quite tasty with a nice authentic Italian touch. We thought the price was up to par with the food quality and service. If looking for something different in Langkawi, this is a good choice.

We came here with zero expectations and left wow-ed by the amazing food experience. The steak was delicious and every pasta we had was on point! Panna cotta for dessert was really good too!

Tucked away in the heart of Langkawi, Gallo Nerro is a true hidden pépite for Italian food lovers. This charming spot delivered one of our most memorable dining experiences on the island — warm ambiance, impeccable service, and food that speaks the language of Italy fluently. We were a family of five, including three children, and the evening couldn’t have gone more smoothly. The kids devoured their spaghetti pomodoro — simple, classic, and full of flavor. For appetizers, we shared the seared scallops and the baby octopus with zucchini and potato — both beautifully plated and absolutely delicious. The scallops were so good, in fact, that we had to order a second round after our son claimed the first plate almost entirely! For the main course, my wife went with the fettuccine al salmone, perfectly creamy and balanced, while I enjoyed the rich and aromatic tortellini ai funghi. Still hungry (and irresistibly tempted), I treated myself to a second pasta: the egg tagliolini with mixed mushrooms, which was earthy, fresh, and deeply satisfying. Dessert was a sweet finale we couldn’t skip. The dark chocolate flan cake was a heavenly, melt-in-the-mouth experience that had everyone sneaking their spoons in — despite having ordered their own scoops of chocolate gelato. What truly elevated the evening was the warm, attentive service. A special thank you to the two lovely ladies and Daniel for making us feel so welcome. And hats off to Lorenzo, the maestro behind this culinary symphony — your passion shines through every dish. If you’re in Langkawi and love Italian cuisine, Gallo Nerro is the place to go. A gem, a delight, and a place we can’t wait to return to.

We had the pleasure of dining at Daniel’s Italian restaurant, and it was truly one of the best experiences we’ve had on the island. From the moment we arrived, the warm hospitality made us feel welcomed. Daniel and his team delivered excellent service—friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. The drinks were perfect, and the food was absolutely delicious. Every dish was full of authentic Italian flavors, fresh ingredients, and beautiful presentation. You can really taste the care that goes into every plate. If you’re in Langkawi and craving high-quality Italian cuisine with exceptional service, this place is an absolute must-visit. I came during a lunch hour and it was nice and quiet. The menu was simple but covered the necessities, and everything served was delicious. The buffalo mozzarella with pesto and balsamic drizzle was a refreshing starter. The carbonara had a great Parmesan flavour, and the star of the meal was the lamb shank. The flavour of the sauce was just nice, with a great balance of tomato and lamb jus without being overpoweringly salty, sour, or gamey. The addition of roasted vegetables in it was perfect. Paired with a light tiramisu to end the meal, I’d highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a place to have a bite at your own pace.

Excellent, from starters to main and deeerts plus alcohol and limoncello from the host. Had a great time…having Ossobuco, pasta al Nero, and tiramisu!!! Love it all

Not only is their food great, but the staff are superb, friendly and knowledgeable about what they serve. Would want to come back to langkawi just to eat here again. Highly recommended!

Okay - You might not consider going to an Italian restaurant in Langkawi, Malaysia for dinner, but I recommend giving this place a try because it’s truly excellent! The service surpasses the already excellent hospitality that the wonderful Malaysian people offer to tourists everywhere else. Here, you will find the most authentic Italian food outside Italy, complemented by an Italian wine list that is surprisingly diverse for a location so far from Italy. All thumbs up – Enjoy!

Fantastic place to relax at lunchtime and dinner,with excellent service and great food. Very clean and air conditioned. Surprisingly very reasonable prices. Be prepared for very generous servings. A very good wine list is available. Lunch is a set 3 coarse meal. Dinners ,the menu is large and has something for everyone. Again very generous servings of really good food. Great atmosphere and good fun. Highly recommended to all.
