I have never felt so welcomed at a hostel! The staff was so kind and friendly! Especially Tom (you rock)! The rooms were clean and had comfortable beds! The common space is so homey and welcoming! Met so many cool people, sad I couldn't stay longer! Will definitely be back!! Go to Galway and don't even second guess this hostel!!

This is the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. The amenities were great, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were spacious and had hooks and shelves, and the environment was perfect. The location is right next to the bus station but you don’t hear any of the loud noises. Every night there’s 5 euros dinner which is SO affordable for the quantity they give you. There’s also free breakfast and so many options to choose from. The pub crawls are 15 euros who is a bit higher than i’m used to for a PC but very fun and good picks for the pubs. Have to give a shot out to Thomas and Elly. Thomas is so fun and made the BEST bacon broccoli pasta. And overall just a sunshine of a person. Elly was so helpful from the start and gave us great recommendations and places NOT to go which was so refreshing to hear. Most people just say the go to’s. Don’t keep reading this tho - just book it.

One of the best hostels I've been to. Clean and organized, and has a good gathering room. The Hostel offered multiple fun events (and food) which I participated in and the staff was very friendly and helpful (especially Tom!).

The staff was very lovely! My airline lost my baggage, but the hostel staff provided me with essentials and were really nice during my whole stay. That really helped me to calm down and enjoy my stay in the Galway Bay Area!

Had just gotten off the train as I was attending house viewings in Galway for the day and was refused a room because “I smelled strongly of something” which was absolutely untrue. I was then told to go find a different hostel that there was suddenly no rooms left and the person at reception rudely just walked away.

location is amazing, clean and comfortable rooms, and breakfast is delicious, and most of all, the staff is incredible!! Very warm, kind people that make you feel at home (especially Mary and Tom). Also very easy to arrange tours and activities! Would recommend to anyone!

Such a great vibe with incredibly friendly people & staff. I showed up and immediately was welcomed in by other travelers in the common room. Prices for an off season week day night were a little high, but with amenities such as incredible water pressure, free breakfast, evening snacks, towel, & lock included- I can’t complain much. At the hostel I stayed at in Dublin, all of those things were extra. The rooms were very nice, I just wish the beds had a shelf or something to store things on (I slept on the top bunk and my stuff kept falling off the bed at night). Also, it is directly across the street from the train station!! I thought I’d get off the train from Dublin and have to walk with all my luggage- nope! Directly across the street. The one downside, and this is very small, is that my room faced the street. This street had the MOST annoying, agitating cross walk sound I have ever encountered. Imagine a fire alarm…but somehow more annoying. As someone who gets really hot at night, I typically like to keep the windows open. With headphones it was bearable but just be warned. This is at no fault to the hostel of course! With all of that being said, I would most definitely stay here in the future!

This is a fantastic hostel, very beginner friendly. The rooms/bathrooms are clean and beds have a curtain. The staff provided a really nice free breakfast spread every morning, as well as tea and coffee with snacks in the afternoon. They were very kind and helpful. They also served dinner at night for only €5. Overall I highly recommend.

Yelp
For a hostel, this place is top notch. Very clean, staff friendly and helpful. And the location... well, it couldn't be more convenient. Train station is one block away plus in the middle of all the city centre action.

Yelp
My friend and I came to Galway for one night and I have to say it was probably one of my favourite parts of my whole trip. The hostel was located about a 2 minute walk from the bus station, so we were able to find it very quickly. It's also located right across from Eyre Square and a short walk from Market St, Merchant St, and all the fun shopping/bar areas. Brian checked us in and we got set up in an 8-bed room. He was really informative and let us know that there was dinner and a pub crawl happening at the hostel that night, and also gave us a map and pointed out all the great things to do around Galway. He also helped us book a tour to the Cliffs of Moher the following day. Our room was great. The beds were pretty comfortable, there were storage lockers underneath our beds, and outlets right next to our beds. The set up was great and made for travellers! The bathrooms and showers were also super clean (the cleanest by far throughout our whole trip!), which was pretty exciting for us. For €10, we also participated in the pub crawl that evening and had an amazing time. Megan, who was the tour leader was so much fun and took us to some great spots. Overall, this hostel was amazing and one of the best I've stayed in. If I'm ever back in Galway, I'd happily stay here again.

Yelp
I couldn't have asked for a better experience for my 3 days in Galway. I booked a bed in a 6 bunk room while I was out here exploring by myself and within 5 min from checking in had met some great people in the kitchen and common area. The staff led a dinner and pub crawl that night and by the end of the night it felt like we had all been friends a long time. One of the cleanest hostels I've seen- the showers are pretty big and have soap in them, each bed has an outlet and personal light, and thick warm blanket although you don't need it in the summer. You can also rent locks or towels if you need them. It's right across from the train station, Eyre square, and all the bars and shopping. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Bus Eireann basically stops right in front of the hostel. Checking in was easy. There is a ton of info at the front desk about yours they offer and other activities. If you need inspiration they can help. Many places to eat and drink outside the door or around the corner. If you don't want to go anywhere, staying in the "living area" is pretty busy even on the Wednesday night I was there. Beds are super comfy considering they are be bunk beds (I had a top bunk). Each had a locker at the bottom to store your stuff. If you don't have a lock you can even buy one at reception. Free wifi is a plus!! And breakfast!! Yey! Overall really wonderful for a hostel.

Yelp
Stayed here for one night with two other friends in a 4 person room. This was one of the cleanest hostels I've ever been to. The service from all the employees was fantastic as well. The showers and toilet were all communal but they were really well taken care of! The hostel had daily events which they held like dinner and walking tour. They were a good touch and helped socializing with other folks.

Yelp
Galway City Hostel is awesome. It's a perfect stay right in the center of Eyre square. Galway isn't huge, but this is still central to everywhere you'll need to go. It's clean and the staff is a pleasure to be around. They do a 2 euro dinner + free bar crawl often, so it's a budget-friendly place. There is a decent breakfast included and they also offer tours for a reasonable price. The rooms/toilets are very clean and didn't make me cringe like some other hostels have. One of the best parts is that it's located just a 3 min walk from the bus station. It's a great place to stay while visiting Galway #YouMeTravel

Yelp
After seeing the warning of the staff being in a maybe even too festive spirit on hostelworld we knew we wanted to go here. And we must have picked the best night to do so! We arrived without reservations and were welcomed in and even directly invited to the thanksgiving dinner. The dinner, made by both residents and staff was absolutely delicious and would have not been better in a restaurant. The rest of the evening was just as nice, where we spent it with wine, good company and a game of yahtzy with people from all over the globe. Thanks for the awesome stay!

Yelp
If you're going to stay in a hostel for the first time, this is a good start--the door is always locked at the front, but they will buzz you up when you ring the bell or try and open the door. there are no key cards, they will give you your room code each day (it changes for security reasons) and the check in/out is super easy. the rooms are like normal hostel rooms, is you're going the cheap route I suggest you go with the 16bed mixed dorm, or if you're ritzy then you can get the single ensuite (oh, you fancy huh?) the common area is cool, there are two desktop computers and free wi-fi; there are also books and games that you can take part in just in case you need to recover from the night before :) there is a bar under the hostel as well as one across the street--the one across the street is a sports bar and it is pretty fun! there's a small market across the street (like a spar), and another large supermarket about ten to fifteen minutes (walking) away (by the omniplex) everything is really close to this location and I found it when I was totally off my face, so it must be easy! :)

Yelp
Nicest hostel that i've stayed in. Super clean, modern rooms and bathrooms. Common area is a bit small but has computers and nice kitchenware to use Great location downtown and next to the bus/train station. Plenty of activities available to all guests.

Yelp
A decided to come to Galway for the weekend and booked a couple nights at the Galway City Hostel. It's right by the train station and just a couple minutes walk from the bus, making it a really great, centrally located hostel. There's a small kitchen and cheery common area room, with comfortable seating, and a couple computers. The hostel has free breakfast in the morning and regularly does community meals in the evening. The one night I signed up for the pasta meal, which was only €2. It's a nice way to meet people. The dorm room I was in was fairly spacious, with 6 beds. I only wish there were more outlets, especially for those on the top bunk, but this is a problem at a lot of hostels. The staff are friendly and had recommendations on different things to see and do while I was visiting. Directly downstairs is the Tighe Fox, a traditional pub with live music. If you're a light sleeper you may want to bring earplugs. Other than that this is a great, safe, and well located hostel for those coming to Galway.

Yelp
I absolutely love this hostel. I really believe it's the best in Galway. I only stayed here for my whole 2 week stay, but I heard some not nice things about other hostels compared to this one. The people that work here are so incredibly helpful and nice. (Well, maybe except like 1 person.) The facilities are nice and CLEAN. The kitchen\common area is super comfy and usually crowded, but a great place to talk to other travelers. I stayed in the 16 bed room. It might sound crazy, but it was totally comfortable. The mattresses are hard and not awesome, but overall it's a great bargain for all that you get. The bunks all have privacy curtains, a spotlight, 2 usb plugins and 2 standard plugins. There are 3 windows in the room I was in. No screens. None needed. It can get super noisy in the little courtyard down below at night. You get used to it though. Bring earplugs if you can't handle noise while sleeping. But don't complain or shut the windows. The breeze in the summer is perfect. The kitchen is great, but it really doesn't accommodate more than one person cooking at a time. If you cook here, consider offering a portion to whomever is working at the desk. They love it!

Yelp
Our first stay in a hostel and we absolutely LOVED it here. The staff is absolutely wonderful--so friendly and let us check into our room an hour early. It is located close to everything. The facilities were clean, bathrooms/showers more than adequate. Thank y'all for making our trip in Galway so memorable!

Yelp
I stayed here for two nights during my visit to Galway. Its conveniently located near the bus station and right by the square. There is a ton going on in the area, so it's easy to find something to do. The rooms are standard hostel rooms, there is a luggage check so that you can lock up your things while your out, and the bathrooms are kept very clean. The kitchen/dining area is large, there is a small continental breakfast included with your stay and there are computers for guest usage. the rates are very reasonable, Overall, the stay was very pleasant and booking via email was very easy.

Yelp
Great location, clean, and very accommodating. The staff went out if their way to remedy a situation that was out of their hands. I always appreciate that type of business. Would stay here again.

Yelp
Turned up at the hostel at last minute, unfortunately the hostel was not able to accommodate date us, however the person at reception went above and beyond what I would ever expect, he was so helpful, he organised a place to stay and gave us loads of advice..... amazing customer service

Yelp
I stayed here for a 3 nights. I gave it 4 stars because I thought it was a slightly above-average hostel. The best part of this hostel is its location. It's right next to the bus and train stations which is super convenient if you're on foot. It's also on the corner of Eyre Square, the center of the city, which means it's also next to Shop street and the Claddagh, both big tourist attractions. Overall the facilities are fine. The bedrooms have keypads on the door and the beds have lockers under them for your things. The showers and bathrooms are clean but nothing amazing. The free breakfast is good but you'll probably want to go out some mornings. There's a fridge to keep your food in but sometimes other people will eat it. There is free internet, this was the best thing besides the location. The price is reasonable and facilities are fine, if you want something better you'll probably have to try a hotel which will be much more expensive.

Yelp
This hostel was amazing. The staff were so nice and helpful, the facilities were pristine, they provide a nice breakfast every morning, and it's so close to the train and bus station

Yelp
Your standard hostel in the most central location possible, about 8 seconds away from both bus and train stations. Comes with breakfast and clean showers. What they however omit on their website is that they are located right next to one of Galway's many nightclubs, so please don't plan on sleeping if you are staying on the weekend. Cheesy House and Techno tunes will see to that.
