"GamlaVærket began life in 1783 as Norway’s first brick factory, in what would become the industrial heart of Sandnes. The original walls still stand, now wrapped around 55 one-of-a-kind rooms, each with handpicked furniture, vintage details, and the occasional line of poetry on the wall. Downstairs, the restaurant serves up honest, seasonal Norwegian fare. Just a minute from the train station and right along the charming Langgata pedestrian street, it is a stay that feels deeply Norwegian." - Tablet Hotels
Good basic, but recently renovated room (without view). Super friendly receptionist and most efficient check in I ever had.
Delicious fresh breakfast. Filter coffee is complementary other coffees to be paid.

Always great to come back to this hotel. Great location, fantastic food, well-informed reception and helpful. Definitely a hotel with atmosphere. Creative rooms with loads of charm. Beds were perfect for us. We will certainly be back again and again.

The worst food I had in a long time! We came with my company and got undercooked potatoes with dry overcooked salmon and a thick cold sauce! School canteen can do better!

Place is located an excellent part of city, Sandnes. However in terms of price, the place feel like extension of the capsule hotel.

Was thinking the food looked good, but no taste, beautiful looking restaurant.
But the food very bad quality. I give 4 stars for the look.
But 2 start for the food.

I stayed in a single room, which was too small in size, but very cozy.Very comfortable bed! High level of cleanliness. Excellent buffet for breakfast with many options. I also had dinner at the restaurant, which was really good. Service at the restaurant didn't match the level of the cousine.Overall my experienced was positive 👍👍

While the staff was friendly and efficient, we found sticky tables that remained sticky even after they were cleaned for us, and the food, the skrei, was schockingly badly prepared, the plukkfisk was nowhere there, and the deer shank was ok but spoilt by its sauce.

We had company Christmas dinner annually at this place for the past 4 years. The service is as BAD as you can get in this town. Very rude servers, turns out everyone is a manager over there, threatening to throw my colleague out because he accidentally spilled his cola. We haven't start drinking so we were not drunk or anything yet. The waiters don't seem to know their own drink menu. One waiter got upset with me because he thought I snaps my finger at him while I called for him. I explained that that was an "ah ha" snap and not a disrespect but he just kept arguing and being unreasonable. Seems like customers have to please them instead of the other way around. The servitor are not well verse, impolite, disrespectful, power tripping ego maniacs. This not the first time we experience. As a customer I think I reserved the right not to be yelled at or disrespected. After all we are spending a boat load of money at their establishment.
