I had a very disappointing experience at Gamma Monterrey Ancira during the Ironman 70.3 Monterrey weekend.
The hotel was clearly aware that more than 85% of its occupancy was related to the event, yet the service and organization were extremely poor. The internet and phone service did not work properly throughout our stay, which is unacceptable—especially during a major international event when guests need reliable communication.
Additionally, during dinner, room service did not have several items listed on the menu available. After a long day of travel and race preparation, this was extremely frustrating and reflected poor planning, especially knowing the hotel was nearly full due to the event.
To make matters worse, the hotel did not offer early breakfast accommodations on the morning of the race. For an event like Ironman 70.3, where athletes must leave very early, providing at least a basic early breakfast option should be standard practice. The lack of planning and consideration for guests participating in the event was very disappointing.
Overall, the experience did not meet expectations, particularly given the importance of the weekend for so many guests. I would not recommend staying here during major events unless significant improvements are made.
