A beautiful city with a great multicultural variety, a beautiful mix of nationalities living harmoniously. Music and art of all kinds, it is very pleasant to spend an evening in the old and beautiful center. We stayed overnight at Astoria Hotel clean and pleasant.

Did you just get your PhD degree in Göttingen? Take you friends, colleagues, relatives, and go to give flowers to Gänseliesel, and don't forget to kiss her! Lovely tradition ;)

It’s as beautiful as reported. A delicate statue of a girl with goose. Beware if the numerous tourists who will take selfies and block your view.

Not my favourite fountain. But we did see it in the winter. Maybe it’s better in the summer.

Gänseliesel, also referred to as "Goose Girl," is a historical fountain in Göttingen notable for the PhD graduates at the University of Göttingen who are required, as part of an old tradition in Göttingen, to go and kiss her as a token of their love on the day of graduation. Despite the fact that it was built in 1901, it has undergone minor restorations. Every time I visit the city center, I love to walk by this fountain.

Beautiful square in Göttingen. It’s a student town and many Doctorate students come to this place in gratitude after they are completed their 7 8 year studies in Ph. D

Very interesting. A lot of interesting and cool things to do around the city center. Especially the "Weinachtsmarkt" or Christmas Market during December. Year round there are also occasional events and occasions to see or do things there. It's a small town and has a small City charm instead of a big commercial area with lots of high end shops. Very nice place to see and visit.
