The terraces in Zürich are a nice place to spend time. It can be busy on weekends, as many people come to relax, but it’s enjoyable. The location is also convenient, close to the lake for a boat ride.

Such a lovely spot with a peaceful view over the lake. If you’re in a hurry, it’s worth a quick stop just to take it all in. But if you’ve got time, sit down by the statue on the wooden benches—it’s calm, quiet, and kind of magical. It’s one of those places where you can just breathe, think, or do nothing at all.

Visited the Ganymed Skulptur at Bürkliplatz recently, and it’s truly a gem by Lake Zurich! This striking bronze sculpture by Hermann Hubacher captures the mythological shepherd boy Ganymede and Zeus (as an eagle) in such a dynamic way—his outstretched arm reaching for the sky is mesmerizing. The setting on the Bürkliterrasse is perfect, with stunning views of the lake and Alps in the background. It’s a peaceful spot to sit, reflect, and snap some photos. A must-see if you’re exploring Zurich’s art and history!

Stone’s throw from the ferry terminal where the cruises are. You can walk straight down from HB to this area. Where the statue is, there’s an amazing view of the lake and the architecture framing the body of water. When I went it had rained so the fog obstructed most of the view. Kinda gave it a supernatural-ish vibe though. Wish I snapped more photos. Super convenient area for cruises to locations further down the lake. Cruises depart every 30 minutes and tickets can be purchased on board! - broke college kid
