This place was just okay overall. I came on a Sunday evening and it wasn’t crowded at all. The ordering process is pretty straightforward, you order upfront, get tickets, hand them to the workers behind the counter, and they prepare everything fresh on the spot. You can sit wherever you like. Service was quick and the staff were friendly.
That said, the food was pretty average in my opinion. I was especially excited to try the spicy Henan soup, but even though it was served from a steaming pot, it came out lukewarm and the flavor didn’t stand out. The fried items were also nothing memorable. The highlights were the steamed buns, spicy beef noodle soup, lamb noodle soup, both had solid flavor and were definitely the best dishes we tried.
Overall, it feels like a “try it once” kind of spot. On the bright side, the prices are affordable for Flushing, which makes it a bit more worth checking out.
