24 Best Things to Do in Hong Kong

"One of the most convenient options for a foot massage in Central is Gao’s, located just a few steps from the MTR inside a commercial tower in Lan Kwai Fong. This no-frills massage parlor feels fairly traditional—picture black or red leather chairs, lattice woodwork, and a soundtrack of birds chirping. Most of the men and women who perform the foot massages are incredibly experienced, with an uncanny ability to zoom in on a trouble spot within minutes and massage away the pain and strain. Whether or not you believe in traditional Chinese reflexology, you will walk out on refreshed feet and legs that feel balanced and energized." - Kate Springer

We had a very relaxing and pleasant experience here. We made reservations ahead and all three of us were taken in for our massages on time. One of the employees spoke English and made pleasant conversation with us. Rose tea was served, and warm neck weights added to the experience. The foot massage included a short shoulder and neck massage, which felt wonderful. The foot massage was heavenly and I am determined to return more often. The body massage was a little intense at times but felt terrific the next day. There’s savings if you purchase a package of massages. Recommend making reservations for treatment as they were very busy.

A poor experience. Long wait. Tricky - i chose 20 mins pedicure and 30 mins massage, turned out they only did 5 mins pedicure and said nothing else to work on on my feet so they directly skipped to 30 mins massage... think they should provide massage for the remaining 15 mins, otherwiss they shouldnt specify 20mins pedicure... Old interior like travelled back in time, too long waiting time, forceful tipping. Three of us went at 1130 ish and there was only one staff, waited for 15 minutes to see the first masseuse arriving, then another 15 minutes for another to arrive. The third masseuse came back but refused to work... then I just sat there... They don't speak English so not foreigner friendly either.

I’m a long time customer for 10+ years, following GAO’s from its early days on Caine Road, to Century Plaza, to Wellington Street, and now in its current location. If you’re looking for a fancy, chic, Bali resort kind of massage place, this will not fit the bill. But GAO’s has quite a handful of skillful, experienced and kind-hearted therapists, they’d fixed my pain problems for me numerous times. And if you buy a package, the average price is cheaper than most places out there. Cleanliness is acceptable. Value for money.

Came here after a workout for an 80 min body massage and the massage therapist quickly identified and focused on the knots with deep tissue massage. Very effective. Possibly not the right place if a relaxing, zen-like atmosphere is a priority for you, as chatter from other massage rooms is audible, but if you are looking for results, this is it. Clean but not luxurious. Girlfriend swears by their foot massage.

Have been coming to Gao’s for around 15 years. One of the highlights and “must do” every time I return to HK. Always a wonderful sanctuary.

Never again!!! Woeful, mediocre massage. Staff more interested in toxic chatter than client comfort. This used to be a haven pre Covid but I won’t return. AVOID!!!!

Skilled at Shanghai pedicure and shoulder/foot massage. Convenient location. Very kind staff, clean surroundings, and always remember loyal customers.

Will not be coming back. The quality has really plummeted, the masseurs are not great and all seem to be in a rush. Today’s was the worst - the guy was watching his mobile phone whilst massaging and looked extremely bored. Many of the masseurs were chatting and sometimes talking about foreign customers in derogatory tones. Clients were mostly Caucasians today and maybe they thought I’m overseas Chinese and didn’t understand them coz I spoke English, but I understood every word. My masseur was commenting to his colleague about which customers tipped the best. Suffice to say the massage was bad and the attitude worse. Stay away
