Perfect location in historic Chiang Mai. Nice simple breakfast every morning. Right next to a gorgeous Wat. Very safe. As a small woman, I felt very safe walking around alone at night. It is a historic hotel with cracks in the doors. But the bug net works perfectly, and the AC and fan made it so comfortable. I would suggest wearing bug spray for breakfast. And the price can not be beaten. I highly suggest staying here if you are ok with a more rugged and traditional stay.

Considering I can't handle city noises, this was a little piece of heaven. Very peaceful at night and the mattress was perfect and the mosquito net is the best I've seen over a double bed, much needed. Very considerate helpful staff and breakfast was something to look forward to every morning.

Beautiful place to stay in Old City Chiang Mai. Location is just perfect. Rooms were tidy and good looking. Beautiful garden outside. Staff very friendly and helpful. I'd just put fridge to the room and it would be perfect!

Love this old school style vibe going on, feels like a loved family run business of a type this increasingly hard to find these days Location is brilliant for all the main sites and walking street Sunday market. Nice garden and a very reasonable price 800 baht including breakfast. #amazingThailand

Loved my stay at the Gap house. Incredible location, room is great for a solo traveller and would be perfect for a couple travelling. Close to night market and the bars but quietly hidden. Room is a little dated but the cabin vibe with a small sitting area is perfect. Incredible hosts and very peaceful, warm environment. Breakfast is included and is also just right. I’d highly recommend staying here.

We followed the Lonely Planet recommendation but were a bit disappointed. It's a nice hostel and the location is great, but the breakfast was a little small (just two slices of bread) and because there were so many mosquitos we could hardly enjoy it. It's a nice garden setting, so some biters are expected, but because they leave a lot of otherwise empty pots full of water, it's the perfect breeding location for even more. Also the bed was quite hard... I think you can find a better spot in Chiang Mai.

Such a nice place to stay. When in the rooms it feels like you're in the jungle. Prices are good. You can get meals here,I especially liked the breakfast buffet. But learned that some parts should not be eaten by Western people, it was so hot that out kept burning for minutes! :) When asked the owners can arrange excursions or scooters for you.
