The hamburger and waffle fries were amazing! I loved the seasoning and extra crunch of the fries! If you want your burger well done, be sure to ask otherwise it comes medium. The spouse had the pepperoni pizza and it does have chili peppers which made it good! If you are not a fan of spice, be sure to omit those. The vibe and music was fantastic! We would return in the future!! This was a perfect dinner spot after some bourbon tours! Gotta love hamburgers and pizzas! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #supportlocal

First time here. This place is so cool, if we lived here, we would be here a lot. The pizza is so yummy and the service is great.

Garage Bar is a great option for food in Louisville! It is a bit tucked away but the garage-like design (it is Garage Bar) is very well done. We were served with waters very quickly, and were attended for other drinks shortly after. Our food took about 15 minutes once ordered, so I would say on the quicker side. I got the Margherita Pizza (they are single person pizzas) and it was good. I wasn't a big fan of the crust; it felt too doughy and not crispy enough. But the rest of the pizza was good. Other members in my party had the Bison Sausage pizza. While the Bison was spicy, they said it was yummy. Overall, I will be returning if in Louisville! Thank you Garage Bar!

Google
The perfect place to crash! The ping pong tables are fun to watch while you sip a refreshing beverage. Got liquid courage? Grab a paddle and give it a go! Last time we were here we had to stay under the awning cause it was pouring rain so it was nice to enjoy the very spacious and rad outside patio. It’s a fun spot for families and friends! Two teenage boys kept themselves entertained playing pong while the adults indulged in refreshments and on the other table a father and pre teen daughter had a blast chasing the ball in all directions so definitely good vibes for all ages. I had a couple “Berry Berry Boy Sours” (pictured on Left) which were very smooth and not overly sour hence I went back for more. My spouse tried the High Heat (pictured on Right) first and enjoyed it but the real winner was the Honey Lavender Lemonade cocktail which is calling us back tonight! Hope you get a chance to stop in!

Google
The beignets and breakfast pizza for brunch were good, want to come back to try lunch/dinner at some point. Super cool place that nailed the theme. The bathroom even had shop towels instead of paper towels

Google
Any place with outdoor seating is nice and this place is one of them! They have many draft beers, different cocktails, and a food menu! I loved the Pork Meatballs and Waffle Fries. The pizza looked good and that will be my next choice! They also have ping pong tables and board games you can play. Definitely a nice place to check out for some drinks and fun!

Google
We stopped in for pizza after a long day of bourbon tasting. The pizza was all really good, service was friendly and fast and the indoor/outdoor space is really nice. Drinks were good also. We were there on a Saturday night and able to a table right away.

Google
Awesome pizza and beer place! The beers were really good, and the pizzas creative! We had the sweet corn one with lime and cilantro, really interesting and super pillowy dough! The place is really cool too. Recommended!

Yelp
Garage Bar has such a great vibe and is the perfect spot for a casual hangout or a fun night out. The industrial-chic decor gives it a unique and relaxed atmosphere. The pizza is definitely the star of the menu - wood-fired and bursting with flavor. Their margherita pizza and garlic cheese bread are my absolute favorites and I always dream about the next time I can have them again. They offer a solid selection of craft beers and creative cocktails, which pair perfectly with the food. The outdoor seating area is a highlight, especially on a nice evening. They even have ping pong tables, which add a playful touch to the experience! The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure your visit is enjoyable. Whether you're there for drinks, dinner, or just to soak in the laid-back ambiance, Garage Bar delivers. Highly recommend for anyone visiting NuLu!

Yelp
I went to a lot of places in Louisville, okay? So this spot came up when I was looking up brunches, but I had decided to go somewhere else. But I ended up stopping here after, because while I had eaten a meal, I was doing a lot of walking and could get more. The line was out the door and the place was completely full. There was a music festival happening and so more popular spots were overflowing in the middle of the day. There was an abundance of tables outside, and from what I learned, one side was serviced dine-in, and the other was self-seating. I was able to get inside past the line, because I was by myself, and had a hunch that the bar had space. I was right -- there was literally one seat left. Brunch was still happening, and they had some pizzas that caught my eye -- monte cristo and sweet corn. A local restaurant back home has a fantastic monte cristo burrito... so this place turns that into a pizza?! I didn't have THAT much room after brunch, and I didn't wanna carry around a pizza box, so I told myself I'd return... I never did :(. But I ended up going with their sourdough beignets. Seemed like a light and sweet treat to finish off my meal. And wow, they were fantastic. They were oh so fluffy, and came with strawberry preserves that really set them off. Garage Bar was completely full, but they were handling the crowd pretty well. Whenever I do return to Louisville, I'm getting one of those pizzas!

Sarah W.

Yelp
Stopped in here for a photo op during a tour of NuLu. The art installation out front is ever changing with the 2 cars placed on a hydraulic track to slowly crush each other. Plan to return soon to further explore the venue.

Danielle B.

Yelp
Delicious food amazing ambience inside and outside right in the heart of Nulu . Drinks and pizza are a must try

Yelp
Our next stop on our quest to get "soused" was Garage Bar for another drink and a small bite to eat, as we were going to have dinner later, but we didn't want to get too soused... yet. To drink, I had an Old Fashioned and Bruce had a Basil Gimlet. To eat, we shared a Margherita pizza which was very tasty -- much better than I was expecting! We weren't there for long, but we enjoyed what we ate and drank. I'd go back! [Yelp collections: Louisville/Indianapolis 2023; Louisville, KY 2023]

Raymie S.

Yelp
Was visiting Louisville from out of town and wanted to find a small place with good food and drinks near our Airbnb and I'm happy to say we did!! The wood fired French toast was the best breakfast I have ever had, I will dream about it. The staff was super friendly and overall had an awesome experience! Decent prices too!

MaryCarol K.

Yelp
If it's summer you absolutely should be here sitting outside. But it also has to be noted their take out team are superstars. Incredibly kind staff over the phone & you can order far ahead of time! The margarita pizza is truly mouth watering. I truly love it.

Phillip Z.

Yelp
My family and I really enjoyed Garage Pizza, which is right in the Nulu neighborhood and was steps away from our Airbnb. The staff was very welcoming and sat us inside at one of the tables near the bar. The cocktails were great here, making me an Old Fashioned, light on the sugar and heavy on the bourbon! The hit of the evening was the Ham & Cheese Board. This was so delicious and my family chowed down on the two types of local ham, cheeses and local bread. The house-made meatballs were also the next big hit. These didn't last very long and were so hearty and tasty. Finally, we had the pizza. This is the signature dish here. It was probably my least favorite dish but still tasty. I joke that even okay pizza is still really good pizza. The crust was a little dry and it seemed like the pizza was out of the oven for quite awhile. Overall though, we loved the experience here. The drinks and most of the dishes were fantastic.

Yelp
The Garage bar is a super chill restaurant located in the NULU area of downtown Louisville. It's a converted automotive garage turned restaurant that is comfy and inviting. The vibe of the garage is still present through the former cars bays (now windows that open up for outside, the outdoor seating area is situated where cars would usually enter the car bays and the hostess area is the former lobby/waiting area for work to be completed. The service is über nice and inviting. They checked up at the right times and were helpful in food and drink choices. They are mostly known for their pizza so we ordered a good variety to taste. The bison pizza, pepperoni and their cheeses bread. We also ordered their meatballs and fried beets (yeah I thought the same...fried beets??) which were pretty tasty. I would definitely go back for the casual atmosphere, the good food and the proximity to my hotel (steps from the AC Hotel)

Bruce K.

Yelp
Our second stop and we had a super time here becauuse how could you not? The Garage Bar is appropriately named as it is a converted service station with the dining room inside where cars were probably lifted up for oil changes and repairs, the outside where the pumps used to be. It's an interesting vibe and on a hot summer day, we sat inside. Warmly welcomed, we placed drink orders and a pizza to share. The margarita pizza didn't take long. Tasty, fresh and topped appropriately with cheese and a piece of basil for each slice. Very flavorful. For my drink, the basil gimlet caught my eye. A little spicy, a lot of booze and freshingly chilling on this hot day. When the drinks were done, we headed onwards to a full dinner but this was fun! Yelp
Garage Bar came as a recommendation from our Uber driver, and we were glad that he called it out to us. We stopped by after dinner and decided to sit inside at the bar that was now housed in what was historically an auto body shop. In addition to the indoor area with the bar, several tables, and their pizza oven, there was an outdoor yard with picnic tables and ping pong. Both areas were perfect for larger groups that would want to hang out for a bit. Speaking of, we sat at the bar for a good deal of time, mingling with other patrons and enjoying our drinks. I just opted for a Passion Fruit High Noon, but I did sample my boyfriend's District Eight cocktail, which included bourbon, orange, house tonic, lemon, and angostura. It was very citrusy and refreshing, but also had a generous dose of bitters. Garage Bar was unique, enjoyable, and worth a visit.

Patty B.

Yelp
Such a fun place with yummy food and thousands of choices of drinks. Love the atmosphere and the history around the area.

Brent C.

Yelp
Bachelor party group of 13 hanging out playing ping pong! Had quite a bit of a crowd for the three nights we stopped by for drinks. Outside area made it a rather nice place to chill with a large group.

JJ G.

Yelp
Busy and hangout spot if a local or visiting. Always busy when walking by, so finally tried it! Pizza, a burger and bvery basic menu. Food under $20 bucks. Two pizzas with 1 soda 41.50 before tax.

Madeline W.

Yelp
This place is great for bringing family or friends for drinks or light fare. My husband and his niece are native to Louisville, and I'm a New Yorker, so it is nice to explore different areas of the city. We had made reservations, but as it was a Monday night so there weren't a lot of people, but I'm told The Nulu is the place to be on Friday/Saturday nights. Our waitress was super nice! The place is a renovated car garage and is very spacey inside with either table seating or booth seating with a front and back room. You can see the kitchen area and it is very clean. I loved how the spirits are displayed as a decorative wall or in the bar area. The outside seating area is creative with wall benches covered in grass turf on one side and umbrella tables on the other side. Our meals consisted of the Homemade Pimento Sandwich (which was very tasty!), The Bison Sausage pizza with Calabrian chilies, cream, broccoli rabe & fior di latte. My husband had this and finished the whole pizza! The bison sausage was definitely the star!! I had the Sweet Corn pizza with cream, garlic purée, broadbent bacon, fior di latte, smoked paprika & lime zest. I added asparagus as I can't have bacon, but it was delicious without it. My niece had the cheeseburger and seasoned waffle fries. She thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Next time I'm in the "Lou", the Garage will be on my list!!

Andy P.

Yelp
Service was overall really good, and a pretty solid burger. Cool spot and would have sat outside if it was warmer.

Noah C.

Yelp
Awesome spot in NuLu that is great with big groups. Love this place when the weather warms up and you can sit outside on the "turf" seating.

Bill M.

Yelp
One of our stops on our tour. It was not an official stop but more like 'you can get off here and roam the neighborhood'. Didn't feel like shopping so we grabbed a drink and sat outside for a while. Great selection of bourbon and the house old fashioned was really good. The bartender made it with a nice balance of sweet and bitter. Cool outdoor area that is pet and kid friendly. Food looked good especially the pizza!

Emory B.

Yelp
I went here on a staff outing for work. Our waitress worked very well with our very large group, separate bills, etc. I got the Caesar Salad and it was delicious!

Charlie T.

Yelp
Cool bar to grab some drinks and have it indoor or outdoor. They also serve some food here. We just opted for some waffle fries as we didn't want to ruin our appetite for dinner. My old fashioned was good.

Michael P.

Yelp
Delicious old fashioned! Didn't get food, but it is a great atmosphere and I'd love to return.

Jennifer F.

Yelp
Tiara and Kelly were amazing! Awesome service. Tiara was just visiting for the night, not even working and still checking in and making sure everyone was having a good time. An amazing evening and loved the vibe of this place!

Janelle D.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Loved sitting outside and playing ping pong. Food was ok. The menu is small and my pickier eaters struggled to find something to eat that they liked.

Ciane M.

Yelp
Came for brunch a few weekends ago and will never be back. Service was terrible and we were barely acknowledged after waiting 45 minutes. They were out of a good portion of their menu and we came in only an hour after opening. Decent place for drinks, but not worth the money or time for service/food

Caroline H.

Yelp
Very cool place. Eclectic. The menu is not very big. Not sure if that is because of covid but it was very small and not too many options. My friend said there used to be burgers on the menu. There are none now. When you get there, you can sit inside or outside. You order what you want at the bar, pay there and then you get a paddle with a number on it to sit at your table. The people that worked there are very nice. There was a guy that worked there that told us what to do and he was listening to us talking about what we wanted to order. He was attentive and made sure they had some of the things we were thinking of getting. The lady at the bar gave great suggestions on what her fav was and already knew what to take off the pizza for my son that wanted the pepperoni pizza. She was considerate. We ordered the appetizer of Turkey wings. The Turkey wings had sesame seeds on it and like a sweet Korean sauce. You only got 2 because they were so big as you can see in the pic. Very good. Wish I had more though. We ordered the pepperoni pizza with no peppers for the kid and I got the sweet corn pizza. The food was very hot when it came out which I appreciate. I knew it was fresh, right out the oven. So hot you couldn't eat it right away. I had an issue with my pizza but they fixed it with no issue at all. They were glad I said something so they could fix it. The sweet corn was good. It has a white sauce rather than a red sauce. Lots of corn on it and not a lot of bacon. When they remade my pizza, I asked them to add more bacon and they did with no problem. Very nice place. I would like to come again at night with a group of people. Seems like the chill spot for people. Outside there was cornhole and ping pong tables. Very cool place.

Anna S.

Yelp
Garage Bar is a great spot for drinks with friends! They have good pizza, the Margherita is my favorite. The staff and service are always wonderful. They have a great large outdoor patio with plenty of seating and games to play for the warmer months. The patio is also dog friendly which is awesome! The Honey Lavender Lemonade cocktail is a favorite too!

Joseph G.

Yelp
I've had this popular Nulu neighborhood bar and pizza place on my local places wishlist for well over two years. After. A few attempts of coming here over the years and it either being closed (Sundays) or just insanely crowded I finally made the trip successfully today with good friend and fellow yelper Jeremy J. I'll start off saying the entire premise, decor, setup and everything of this place is absolutely awesome. From the cool lawns cape looking patio seating backdropped by the wonderful end rabbit hole mural to the ping pong table and the homage to the original garage eight he cars and gas pump type setups. Waking in has more of the same cool designs. Place is absolutely crushing the decor and theme game. They do have A pretty extensive bar. Me and my buddy wasn't really looking to drink on this early Saturday afternoon so we went with a pizza. We got there version of a large cheese pizza and high is just 12 inches. Which was ok because we wasn't too hungry. We had been snacking at other nearby places while visiting local venues. They give you a number on a ping pong paddle Tom mark your table. Which again supper innovative place. The pizza arrived pretty quickly. We did get some waters. They have a cool setup of having a water jug cooler at the bar and outside on the patio. So we used those. The pizza was disappointing if I'm being honest. It was super thing and hardly any substance on it. The sauce was too sweet for my liking. The bread was a nice crisp to it so i did like that. It was just not of much substance. Rating the decor and atmosphere here this place is a 5/5 all day long. The pizza was a 2/5 sadly. Pricing was way too much. The pizza was around 13-14 bucks. I'm sure this is a really cool place to drink and hang with a group of friends. So maybe if I can get the opportunity to do that one day then it can bump the rating. But to me on this visit the food just wasn't good.

Tim D.

Yelp
It's so good that I come back every time I'm in Louisville! A whisky menu that goes on for many pages, pizzas with house made pepperoni and salami, friendly staff and a chill vibe all year long.

Justin M.

Yelp
AlwAys a good vibe here and great service. Came for drinks and apps and they were good. I do wish they had a bit more on their menu as far as pizza and non pizza items go. All in all it's pretty good!

Jennifer R.

Yelp
We were walking around Nulu and happened to see an open ping pong table at Garage Bar so the hubby ran in and grabbed a beer and we headed out to play some ping pong! We didn't have any food this time around so will have to stop in again to give it a try. But i will say if you are looking for a fun place to hang out, play some pong and have a good beer I suggest giving them a try.

Chrissie K.

Yelp
Low key, small menu. Indoor outdoor seating, very ambient. Great bourbon selection. Attentive and friendly staff, they need a card first for bar service. The baily with salon (lox) was out of this world, it comes deconstructed. Matt loved the bacon egg and cheese, he says "definitely different, would get it again, made with pizza dough". Such a cool place!

Gwendolyn W.

Yelp
This place is great! The vibe is awesome. There is a ton of indoor and outdoor seating. It's super relaxed and everyone is friendly. The menu is small and it's all good! We loved the shishito peppers and sweet corn pizza. And our cocktails we awesome too! Go check it out!

Chris L.

Yelp
Really liked the atmosphere. I tend to Prefer having waitress but liked the thing they have going. Gets a young crowd at night. Nice ping pong custom tables outside. Good pizza.

Stefanie C.

Yelp
Our Thirsty Pedaler tour guide chose Garage Bar as one of our stops, and it was a fun one! Both the interior and exterior were super chill. About 10 of us strolled right up to the bartender and ordered their honey lavender lemonade. Something like that. Someone heard it was tasty (or picked it off the menu) and we all just decided to get it. We picked a spot to hang out by the ping pong tables and waited for a turn to play. Some people sat on the benches, while others did a mini photoshoot by the murals. It was perfect, toasty Louisville weather with excellent music blasting in the background. There's food options for humans and water bowls for dogs... everything you'd want in a great bar!

Jeremiah T.

Yelp
Pretty good drink selection! The pizza was great, I personally enjoyed the fire roasted flavor, it's very different from what I'm used to back home... the outside ping pong tables were a bonus as well a dude n his boys could spend hours here if they really wanted to.. Very unique spot!!

Shelby Z.

Yelp
I have been eyeing Garage Bar for for-ev-er!! I find myself in Nulu quite often and have always been curious to try it out. Just recently, after another restaurant we were trying to get into was too full, we opted for this place. Even for a Thursday night, Garage Bar was bumpin'! There was a DJ out front playing some upbeat music, and even some dancing around his stand. I can tell it's a popular place to hang out, and they have a neat setup outside with a few ping pong tables. This place is small, and will get full quickly. We were lucky to snag a seat and beat the long line the formed at the bar (Which is also where you order food.) They have a few small bites or pizzas to choose from - we tried the pepperoni pizza and loved it! This is such a fun bar, we had a great time here. I'd love to come back someday.

Berit V.

Yelp
I've been here twice now, got the bison sausage pizza each time; never fails to amaze me. This time around I decided to order the corn pizza, was slightly skeptic about it at first, it was a fine pizza. The thin crust is always great, I'm just not a huge huge sweet corn fan. If you like sweet corn this is the pizza for you. My waitress was super sweet and really attentive, she made sure we got every need and want during our dining experience. Besides that, great experience!!! The place has a great atmosphere, the outdoor area is so exciting and fun filled. Will be returning back.

Michael M.

Yelp
One of the best Caesar salads I've had in a while. We love this place, particularly on a nice evening when you can sit outside and enjoy the ambiance with a pizza and cocktail.

Jim K.

Yelp
Amazing place ! Great vibe but not sure what happened. Everyone seems attentive and in with the flow of the night but I got this amazing brick oven pizza that was cold. Yes I should have sent it back and they would most likely been great with that. But having a trying day and did not want to talk to people. Still love the place just need to tighten up a bot

Julie R.

Yelp
I questioned whether they were even opened when we walked up but they were in fact open. The atmosphere is good and the food tasted great. However, the server Chris didn't appear to actually listen to what we were saying. I originally ordered a Bailey's and coffee. He looked right at me and asked if I wanted cream and sugar. I replied with " I would like Bailey's and a little cream on the side maybe." He brought back a coffee with cream and sugar." I figured he'd be back with a shot of Bailey's. He did not. Finally my husband asked for my Bailey's and that is when Chris told my husband " I don't think we have that." Huh? He essentially thought it was appropriate to just ignore me. Okay, not cool. Then when we got our order, we were given a bacon egg and cheese "pizza" but we had actually ordered sausage egg and cheese "pizza" which further convinced me that Chris isn't very good at listening. So, while the food was good, service left a bit to be desired. Plus seriously, Bailey's is standard bar stock in the Midwest especially if you're open for brunch.

Jeremy J.

Yelp
My buddy and I stopped in to garage bar one afternoon while we were exploring the area of the city. I've never been to garage bar so I said hey let's go there and we agreed and we shared a pizza cheese pizza I must say it was very expensive unfortunately for the size of the pizza that we got it was very own billing for that price to be honest. Overall though the bar itself is pretty cool has a Lotta good decorations live music fun games on the outside so I would give her the food into the atmosphere a four so overall three

Lorie L.

Yelp
Delicious brunch stop today with friends! We all left quite happy that we'd stopped by Garage Bar today, and I had gone inside a bit of a skeptic that I'd enjoy it. We were greeted and seated right away and before ordering our server answered a few questions for us about the menu. They also brought out a jug of cold water for us to keep at our table. I got the bacon, egg and ham sandwich which is place on a bagel-like bread, only better. I can only describe the meat as insanely delicious, thick and full of flavor I experience almost never. For $9 it brought me much happiness and filled my belly. I will return just for this sandwich. Check out the menu before going. The menu is unique and they are well known for their pizzas and beer selection. During good weather this place is busy. People will ooze out to the seating on the patio and socialize throughout the evening. Very popular during NULU events too.

Kathy M.

Yelp
Had been here before and maybe even left a good review in the past. We hadn't been here in awhile but decided to stop in for brunch today. The drinks were really good, the food is ok and the service is lacking. Customer service really is important, especially these days. They could do better. Two stars reflect service.

Vidya P.

Yelp
Loved the ambiance of this place! We actually thought it was a garage from afar until we walked up. I loved the atmosphere, with the music, and the drink menu as well as the food menu, but I really wish they had famous Mint Julep, etc. on their menu! I was looking forward to trying something they were known for in such a cool atmosphere. Overall, a great experience though. Service was great, and so was the ambiance with so many visitors around! Would definitely recommend.

Chyna M.

Yelp
Loooove the vibe at Garage bar! Awesome drinks. The perfect outdoor chill spot. We didn't get any food this time around but I can speak from past experiences that the brick oven pizza is legit! I come here every time I'm in Louisville.

aaron r.

Yelp
Very cool spot in NULU. Great cocktails and an awesome patio. I did not eat but did have some drinks and it is a great place to have drinks or do some day drinking. Seemed prefer dog friendly if that is important to you!

Dennis S.

Yelp
Pizza was slightly ok and service was far from personable! Customer service is key to a hood review in my opinion! Probably won't come back next time!

Sarah D.

Yelp
Ordered a Lavender vodka lemonade and sat in the wonderful outdoor area that has plenty of tables, seating and corn hole. If you want to be outside, then this is the bar for you.

Cara E.

Yelp
This is a really cute spot to have a drink and grab a bite to eat. It's in an old auto garage that's been converted to a restaurant, which gives it a lot of fun character. The wood fired pizza is delicious! There's also a huge patio area outside that is perfect in nice weather.
