Lovely arboretum! Costs $20/adults and $10/kids. Beautiful vistas, with walkable paths. Many trees/plants marked to what they are. Great stop on Road to Hana to just take in the beauty that is Maui. Little café that serves coffee, sandwiches, baked goods and ice cream too. Restrooms available as well.

Google
I honestly wasn’t sure about stopping here, however we ended up going and I was pleasantly surprised. The kids (5 and 7 years old) enjoyed the open space, the peacocks, and soaking up nature. We especially enjoyed the views and garden. You can park in the center area and choose where you want to go while easily finding your car when you want to leave. Definitely highly recommend.

Google
Beautiful arboretum. An amazing stop on the road to Hana. We grabbed food before hand, highly recommend the visit to see the falls, the 100+ year old mango tree, rainbow Eucalyptus, and the rock lookout. Not sure if we were standing on the rock or . . . But the lookout was beautiful. Stop and get some food at the shop. It's delicious and worth the conversation with both staff and peacocks!

Google
A beautiful area of nothing but lush landscape and beautiful scenery. The famous rock from the opening scene of Jurrasic Park is there, waterfall over look, and beautiful landscape that I hadn't ever seen. Everything was so tall and full of life I felt like a miniature! To enter is $20 per person, they do accept cards. Bathroom on premises as well. Bring water!

Google
One of the best tropical gardens I’ve visited. You can find a lot of unique and exotic plants as well as birds. A peacock was guiding us through the entire walking tour :) Can easily spend more than an hour here.

Google
Absolutely amazing place! Totally worth the drive and time to get there. Beautiful gardens and a wide variety of rare plants and trees. Waterfall was awesome. Customer service was great, they informed us and explained to us lots of cool facts and info on the plants. 100% recommend. Bathrooms are also available.

Google
Nice garden with lots of beautiful flowers and trees, but at $20 per adult and I think I heard $5 per child, it can be spendy. If you want to feed the birds have a few quarters in your pocket. Doing it on the way back from completing the Road to Hana wasn't the best idea, we were pretty exhausted by the time we made it back to this place, not a ton of energy to walk around and see everything.

Google
Heaven on earth!!! When in Maui, you to visit this garden. As a tree lover, there are so many varieties here to enjoy. There are also ducks and peacocks that roam free and walk up to you. The serenity and peacefulness is enough to choke on. I loved the miniature gardens within the garden like Bamboo Alley. Bring bug spray as you will definitely need it. But also have your mental ready and open to receive natures goodness.

Yelp
If you are looking to see some of the most beautiful sceneries that nature has to offer, there is no question. This is a MUST DO. I was researching for months for the best spots to propose to my now fiancé. I couldn't be any more gracious to have the honor of having a this place be that special spot in our lives. The staff = INCREDIBLE, the variety of unique and beautiful plants = AMAZING, the views = BREATHTAKING. I promise that if you don't stop here, you are missing out!

Yelp
As always, this is a delight. So many flowers and unusual trees. A pic nic area with roaming peacocks. Slice of Heaven.

Yelp
The Garden of Eden Arboretum is a scenic and peaceful stop along the Road to Hāna, especially if you're heading back and looking to stretch your legs or soak in a bit more nature. We'd seen it featured in a few YouTube videos and decided to check it out on our return trip. Be prepared for a short wait, we lined up in our Jeep for about 20 minutes before entering. Admission is $20 per person, which caught us a bit off guard, but the grounds are beautifully maintained. You can drive through the property and stop at several small parking lots along the way. We chose to park in the central lot and explore on foot. If you go this route, wear closed-toe shoes, the trails are rocky and uneven in places, and sandals aren't ideal. A hat is also a good idea, especially on sunny days. We walked down the path to view the waterfall visible from the Hāna Highway, and while it's seen from a distance, the scenery is stunning. One of the highlights is the iconic Keopuka Rock, also known as Jurassic Rock from the opening of Jurassic Park. Zoom in with your camera, it's worth capturing. Don't forget to ask someone to snap a photo of you with that epic backdrop! The flowers and lush greenery are gorgeous, and there's a calm, tranquil energy throughout the gardens. That said, it's probably a "visit once" type of spot for most. We enjoyed the experience, but I wouldn't personally return. One final tip: check under your car before leaving, the peacocks love to lounge in the shade under vehicles, and you definitely don't want to drive off with a surprise hitchhiker!

Yelp
I think it's beautiful and a nice break while doing road to Hana trip. This was our stop before returning. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very nice lady who gave us a map. We saw peacocks and ducks. They were definitely used to humans because they ran to us! The walk was shaded with several stops for Instagram worthy photos. The waterfall view was tiny! $20 per person is not too bad but it's one of those things that you only do once. Oh, not sure I would recommend the cafe. Sorry.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped here for the food over the garden tour as we felt that the garden tour was a bit overpriced. The food was actually really good. How are the Server was extremely rude and unwilling to answer any questions. He also gave us the bud of the bread for the avocado toast that we got, which made it not filling at all because the bread was extremely thin. Definitely would've given this a five 4 or 5 if the service was better. The seating was nice outdoor with a lot of peacocks running around. The restroom was not the best, but it was at least clean.
google avatar

Jess M.

Yelp
Way to expensive for what it is. Only about a 3 minute drive all around park. Spent $70 for nothing... worst money spent in my life. My whole family agreed.
google avatar

Yelp
A must stop. Just spent the most enchanting afternoon at the Garden of Eden Arboretum & Botanical Garden, tucked away right off the Road to Hana! I'm still pinching myself after witnessing the majestic peacocks strutting their stuff amidst the lush greenery and vibrant blooms. The variety of flowers was staggering - from delicate orchids to show-stopping heliconias, every corner was a visual feast. And let's not forget those Instagram-worthy views of the surrounding mountains and valleys! Tip: If you're driving the Road to Hana, be sure to stop here around 10am when the sun is shining and the peacocks are most

Yelp
My husband and I visited Maui 18 years ago and did the famous Road to Hana. We were 25 so we kept it real with off-road hikes back then. Now that we are back with kids we didn't hesitate to pull into Garden of Eden when we drove through this time. So glad we did! This was a wonderful way to experience the absolute beauty of this island and its amazing plants and trees on graveled paths with a map to guide you. You can walk to marked scenic overlooks and witness up close, things you don't see in non-tropical settings like mango and banana trees, a bamboo forest, rainbow eucalyptus, and other cool things you've never heard of. Little zen gardens throughout the path. See the rock featured in the opening of Jurassic Park. Plus pretty peacocks and peahens and other neat tropical fowl. They have an art gallery and store on-site as well as a cafe. Excellent braised chicken and rice meal a little bit like teriyaki chicken but more of a Hawaiian style recipe. For us it wasn't over-priced and a worth while attraction. Once you've been to Disney World, a $20 per adult, $10 per kid over 5 admission isn't bad at all! Scroll through the pic collection on Yelp, looks like some people got some wonderful pictures while visiting here! What's incredible is the Nature-made beauty of Maui. Garden of Eden puts you up close to that beauty in a well designed small park.

Yelp
As many others have pointed out, the per-person cost of visiting the Garden of Eden is pretty high, especially with larger groups. There is no discount if you have a lot of people in the car. That said, it's still a beautiful place and if you can swing it, worth a visit at least once in your road trip to Hana. There are many unique tropical plants and everything is arranged to give a "walking through the jungle" feel while still being well maintained. There is a lot to explore and beautiful views of the ocean. You can also see Keopuka Rock, which was featured in the original Jurassic Park movie. There are also waterfalls, peacocks, and giant bamboo to discover.
google avatar

Mariza R.

Yelp
An amazing collection of old-growth tropical plants. I was so impressed by the scale of these plants, absolutely incredible bamboo, birds of paradise, etc. It felt like a true adventure going around trails and meandering around unaware of what I was going to find around the corner. The weird mossy statues actually added to that vibe. I wish I could have walked every single path, but alas, the road to Hana is a long one. Totally worth a visit, I took hiking poles and was happy I had them most of the time.

Andrea T.

Yelp
If you're on the road to Hana, take 1/2 hr and visit the Garden of Eden. It's a great opportunity to stretch your legs (or not--you can also just stay in your car and drive through). I recommend getting out of your car to feed the peacocks and chickens, and taking the short, easy stroll through the beautiful bamboo for some amazing photos. You'll also see a beautiful waterfall in the distance as well as one of the filming locations of the original Jurassic park movie. Some of the most beautiful photos we took on the trip were taken here. It's worth the time and money to stop here.

Yelp
What a beautiful place. We arrived about 11AM and the place was lightly covered with visitors. We received a map for the gardens and instructions on where to park, restrooms and what to see. There were several paw locks roaming around and squealing at visitors. They were all beautiful. We chose to park on the middle lot near the restrooms and walked the whole gardens throughout the afternoon. We saw the banana patch, 100 year old mango tree, many bamboo trees and a plethora of flowers and plants. All so beautiful. There is a spectacular waterfall at the basin that you can splash around in as well as a rock that was in the movie Jurassic Park. Many overlooks and places to sit.

Yelp
Amazing arboretum with breathtaking views of ocean and waterfalls, bamboo forests, nice fairway, peacocks, ponds, ducks, and many other wildlife and plant life. Very much enjoyed this experience since you get to see everything in a very convenient space. Traversing the arboretum was also very convenient with walkways and parking spots throughout. There is also a cafe near the entrance with various sausages, lemonades, and coffees. The food and drinks at the cafe were quite good although the sausages could have used more flavor. Overall great experience that was well worth the $20 per person entry fee. Our group probably ended up spending over a pleasant couple of hours here.
google avatar

Yelp
This is almost a complete tourist trap in my opinion. The only thing that makes it worth it is if you're a Jurassic Park fan and want to see the location of the opening shot. Absolutely not worth the cost if you're only spending a day doing the Road to Hana. If there price were lower, it would maybe be worth the stop.

Yelp
This was one of our last stops on our way back through the Road to Hana. We were coming near closing (around 4:30 PM) but luckily the attendant said we had more than an hour and we just had to close the gate on our way out. The fee per person was $20 which was pretty hefty in my opinion. I can kind of see the tourist trap label that people are putting on this place. A big selling point is the Jurassic Park waterfall which, we had a good view of but it was a lot farther away than I expected. The garden itself was beautiful and again the views were awesome (cool to see the rainbow eucalyptus trees) but still a little pricier than expected. Might not be a must to visit but still a solid thing to check out if you want to see everything on the Road to Hana.
google avatar

Cheryl V.

Yelp
Complete tourist trap, the entrance fee is $20 per adult not per vehicle and there is nothing to do there that you can't do for free on the other parts of the road to Hana. We were encouraged to feed the ducks however upon entrance saw that you have to pay more for the bread to even feed them....the gravel is extremely loose and difficult to walk and drive on, completely not worth the time we left after about 30 minutes because that is about how long is took to see what was there. Would not recommend this stop, support the small businesses along the way like Auntie Sandy's banana bread and skip this. Will not be worth losing time from the other stops.
google avatar

Yelp
I quite enjoyed Garden of Eden and felt it was worth the money and time for folks who enjoy visiting gardens. I can imagine for others who don't find plants or gardens particularly fascinating, it may not be the stop for them. For fellow plant people though, I'd recommend it. The garden is well cared for and is enjoyable to stroll around. Keep in mind it is small, so you can make it through all the trails fairly quickly or stop and sit along the way for views of different spaces. Many plants are labeled which I appreciated. There is also a sweet little gallery space filled with handmade art and gifts all made by local makers.

Marla F.

Yelp
Aptly titled, this is a magical place not to be missed if you're in Maui. Gorgeous exotic plants, loving cared for and displayed. Very natural and unpretentious, reasonable entry fee. I'd be a member if I lived here. A highlight of our 7 days in Maui. We liked it SO much more than the national tropical botanical garden!

Yelp
The Garden of Eden is a sensational botanical garden featuring gorgeous tropical plants with ocean views and a distant waterfall. I have visited on numerous occasions and I do believe it is worth the cost to see these mesmerizing plants! The cost is $20 per adult. There are mature trees, hybridized hibiscus, anthuriums, alocasias, non-native tropical trees, shrubs and flowers, and so many species beautifully interplanted. It is a sight to behold. You can also feed wild and domestic birds (doves, peacocks, ducks) by hand. I happen to be a total plant nerd who loves all types of tropical plants. I am infatuated with the beauty in this garden and can't recommend it enough to other garden nerds. Many of my houseplants in California grow outdoors here with abandon, and seeing these species in a tropical climate growing to these proportions was truly astounding! For example Monstera deliciousa is a small potted plant in my home but reaches tree tops in these gardens! This is a great place to take some photos so don't forget your camera and bug spray!

Miriam E.

Yelp
The Garden of Eden Arboretum was lovely but a bit expensive. The views and variety of plants were beautiful, but it was crowded.

H I.

Yelp
not worth the price of admission. If you can, instead, go see the Hawai'i Tropical Botanical Garden near Hilo on the Big island. It's a real botanical garden, well designed and well kept.

Yelp
This was our second or third stop along the Road to Hana, and we were so glad we checked it out. We learned about it via a Maui travel guide podcast and because we were traveling with a sleeping toddler, we thought the option for a drive-through or walking tour was a good fit! Admission is $20 per person, and I believe admission is free for kids under 5. At first I thought this was pretty pricey, but the experience was definitely worth it!! We parked near the picnic tables and ate our packed lunch. We were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by a peacock, who was not afraid of visitors! Overall we saw 2 male peacocks and 3 females and they came right up to us! Very gentle, unlike the ducks (one bit a child we ran into). We came on the perfect day - sunny and the sky was bright blue. After lunch (and after our sleeping toddler woke up), we headed to the pond to feed the ducks. Bring quarters - 25c gets you some corn to feed the ducks and other birds. They can be aggressive so be careful. You can also buy quarters at the entrance. Next we walked the trail to see the beyond beautiful, postcard quality landscape. We spotted a waterfall from the lookout and saw the rock featured in Jurassic Park, a great photo opp! We had the privilege of running into Alan Bradbury, the owner of this property and garden, on his golf cart with his 18 yr old dog Dandy Lion. Alan was so kind to stop and chat with us about how he built this garden and even shared some behind the scenes info about Jurassic Park! He gave our toddler a free tangerine he just picked. We really felt like we were in paradise!! The flowers were beautiful and unique, and there is so much to explore! We ended up being there for around 3 hr and still didn't cover everything!!! There are bathrooms onsite and a gift shop with local art (and water bottles - don't drink the tap)!! There is also a cafe but we didn't have time to check it out. The park closes around 4 or 5 I believe, so you can really come early and stay all day if you want. Beautiful spot and nice people!!! Glad we stopped. Thanks Alan!

Yelp
We were on the way to Hana and came across this place. Out of curiosity we drove up to the entrance and were told it's $20 per adult, and $10 per child. It's not charged by car. For our group of 4 adults and 2 child's, this is a $100 entrance and the guy reminded us that the sticker to be put on the windscreen allows multiple entries. $100 is very steep, we definitely expected something worths that value. It turned out - we exited the garden within an hour. There is nothing much to see to be honest and every one of us in the group felt - 'is that all?' and ripped off. The views from a few decks are so normal. Peacocks and chickens are running around, that might give a little of fun to the kids but hey you do see running chickens everywhere on Maui anyway. The roads inside the garden all gravel base and can be muddy especially after rain. On the way back from Hana, despite $100 paid, we didn't bother to enter again simply because there is nothing much to see and do. Lesson learnt as we didn't check Yelp review before deciding to visit since there was hardly any phone reception
google avatar

Trevor 2.

Yelp
If you're looking to take a break from that road to Hana this is definitely a great place to check out! Lots of different trails with a multitude of different plants species from the Rainbow Eucalyptus to the 100 year old mango tree. Very relaxing and peaceful surroundings.

Yelp
A stop along the Road to Hana that was recommended by many. So we decided to stop by and check it out. As soon as we pulled in we noticed a small cafe so we stopped by and got some sausages and drinks to have lunch in the garden. The views are beautiful from all around, many picnic areas to sit and enjoy your lunch (which we did ). Short hikes and walks throughout the garden. You can drive thru it also and stop by the areas that interest you most. If you stay too long you won't make it to Hana. So you have to plan ahead on how much time you will spend here. We stayed for one hour and a half (it was also our lunch stop ) ... overall a beautiful garden to visit but for $20 a person I truly believe it's a rip off... it was four of us in the car so we paid $80 ... maybe charging by the car is better than per person.... A lot more people will visits. Or maybe $5 or $10 a person ... Before I forget. The bamboo forest was my favorite area. Soooo breathtaking to look up into those giant trees. Overall it's a beautiful place to see..

Yelp
Disappointed after driving for 2 hours to find the sites we were planning on seeing on the long road to Hana, a 65 mile stretch, were closed to tourist not respecting the many glorious wonders of Maui thus I stumbled upon the Garden of Eden. Yes stumbled once your on the road to Hana you loose cell recreation sorry those glued to social media your S.O.L.. i say stumbled only because as we were driving a small sliver of the road cut off leading to this scenic tour. At $20 per person the spontaneous side kicked into gear and off I went. This is a little pricey but if you walk around you get to see, learn and enjoy safely without breaking any laws. At the gates you are given a map showcasing all the trails and historical points along the way. 1st TIPS: the peacocks are not friendly and do peck or attack aggressively at cars so I would park your car further away from the gift shop at the lower parking lot. This trip they hated silver cars. Once you arrive to the gift shop you will also find clean bathrooms before you start your adventure. 2nd TIP: the map wasn't the best if your walking around. Along the trails marks the abundance of bamboo from all around the world. Skinny, fat they have it all. I loved the history bits about all the plants. Since I didn't get to see the famous bamboo forest this would have to do. Another unique plant is the rainbow eucalyptus trees. As they shed each layer showcases different colors thus the name. Another site for those Jurassic park fans is Keopuka rock. You will see some waterfalls and a lush green garden with local plants. Overall this is a safe way of seeing all the wonderful sites without trying to stop on the narrow one way road illegally. If you plan on driving the entire road to Hana I would start super early pack a lunch or snacks it's a long drive. A lot of the traffic occurred due to construction slowing the flow of traffic. 3rd TIP: bring sunblock, plenty of water and bug spray (if your sweet like I am they will eat you alive). Overall this is a great alternative to see it all in one place. If you can't walk far you can drive through the garden on certain roads. This doesn't allow you to see all the different bamboo or other beauties so it may seem more of a rip off. Hope you all enjoy.

Yelp
Tourist trap. $20/person entry fee. The views are nice but you get similar if not better completely for free. This is a skip for me since there really isn't any value from what I saw. I know others will disagree but the whole thing seemed very commercial compared to literally every other attraction in the road to Hana.
google avatar

Maruko X.

Yelp
The parking line is very long and this place is crowded, there is a food stand at the lower level of parking before the arboretum entrance. I would recommend skipping this place if you're running short on time, and it's not really worth $20 admission each person.
google avatar

Sandeep R.

Yelp
At 20$ per person, this place is an absolute tourist trap. I'd absolutely recommend giving it a miss and instead try and cover other spots which are time-sensitive on the way to Hana (Aunt Sandy's banana-bread, which usually runs out of stock by 12 pm and Hana Lava Tube, which closes by 4pm). With regards to this place, this is pretty much a man-made garden with a few vista points that overlook a nearby waterfall and some other artificially created tourist points ( a banana tree, banyan tree, a point overlooking the pacific ocean and some peacocks). There's a small cafe and some rest-rooms inside this place but no way is this place worth a stop
google avatar

Shianne K.

Yelp
Brought me to tears several times. The bird area is absolutely breathtaking. So are the views from the garden. If you're a Jurassic Park fan- you can add this to your collection of filming locations.
google avatar

Rachael R.

Yelp
As we waited in a long line of cars to enter the Garden of Eden, I worried we were falling into a tourist trap. And maybe we did, but it was worth it regardless. We wandered around these grounds for about an hour, amidst our drive down the Road to Hana. It was a great opportunity to spend time outside of the car. The quietness of this beautiful place was ideal for soaking up the tropical wonders of Maui. Seeing all of that flora in one place, experiencing the humid warmth among the trees, and slowing down a bit to appreciate the scenery is what Garden of Eden is perfect for. Given the opportunity, I would definitely go back. Don't miss the 100 year old mango tree, the Keopuko rock if you're a fan of the original Jurassic park, or the beautiful peacocks wandering around.
google avatar

Johanna Mari G.

Yelp
Yeah the pictures are nice BUT you can totally pass on this stop on Road to Hana. It was not because of the ridiculous price for entry ($20 per person) but because it felt like a complete tourist trap. This place did not feel like the genuine "aloha" spirit. This land belongs to the Hawaiian people. This place felt like it was stolen land like a lot of places in Hawaii feel like. I would definitely feel different if this property was owned by Native Hawaiians sharing the land with us. But that was not the case. Not worth it. DO NOT COME HERE.
google avatar

James D.

Yelp
A tourist trap that I love. I don't want to spend my whole vacation in a tour bus or worry about parking. It is $20 per adult, but parking is more than adequate, and there is enough variety to make the cost worth it. Everything is sectioned off with nice walking trails easy on the knees. I just wanted somewhere where I can take pictures of waterfalls, rainbow tree, and a nice backdrop with the ocean. This fulfills my needs without worrying about trying to fight for parking. If you want an authentic Maui trip, you are probably not having it anyways. The island is the tourist trap. This is just the Matryoshka doll version of the tourist trap.
google avatar

Heather P.

Yelp
Unbelievable. It was so amazing. Loved being able to walk around and see so much. Highly recommend. We went literally after we landed at the airport. We had a few hours before we could check into our vrbo and so glad we stopped here. We did the rest of the road to Hana another day.
google avatar

Atul S.

Yelp
$15 per adult entry fees. $1 extra for card payment. 1+ mile of drive within garden with lookout of rocks and waterfall. Lookout of famous Jurassic Park movie is here too. Plenty of birds and peacocks. 2 cafes inside too. They also have a small museum and a visitor center. Trail in the gardens are easy and leads to different flora and fauna. It's nice but we spent way too much time here. If you go here and are on a day trip for road to Hana then make sure not to spend more than 45-60 mins including food.
google avatar

Jhal33 G.

Yelp
Anyone who's visiting Maui, this is a must see place The scenery is beautiful, calm and you can hear the trees and birds chirping. Good hike (easy) for the kids and seniors if you bring your grandparents. Tip: Bring snacks, food and drink if you want to stay longer until lunchtime.
google avatar

Amy R.

Yelp
I will say this was one of our favorite stops along the road to Hana. The scenery was amazing and the amount of plant species that we had never seen before was abundant. It wasn't too crowded, the trails were maintained well and they did a good job of labeling the different trees and plants. I would recommend stopping at the little gift shop before you leave. They have very unique pieces from the local artists that are way better to take back that some cheesy souvenir from tourist trap. Also take a quick stop by the visitor center to get a better background of how this place was created.
google avatar

Brittany T.

Yelp
We come here each time we visit Maui and the views never get old. The signs are hand painted and I mimicked the font for our wedding which was unfortunately not at the Garden of Eden. There are so many cool plants and trees at this location and the owners live onsite off of the beaten path with some privacy from the beautiful garden they built to share with the world. Definitely worth the short trip less than half way up the road to Hana.
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
20 bucks PER person, I hope you're not traveling with a group. This place is a literal tourist trap if I ever saw one. I didn't have any phone reception so i couldnt look at reviews (I think this is how they get half of their money). I dont know how anyone is giving it a good reviews. My only thoughts are people are feeling guilted into liking it because of the high admission? If you're going to see the plants, it might be worth it if you really wanted to see something specific. Otherwise dont waste your money. The two draws of this place are being able to see a waterfall (you can see it way better by just stopping on the road) and the rock from the opening of jurassic Park. You can only see the tip of the rock anyways and its far away. Pic for proof. Best part of the park was probably feeding the ducks for a quarter, but I didnt have any quarters.
google avatar

Ben M.

Yelp
We stopped here on a recommendation from the driving tour we were taking on the road to Hana.  While there are some good vistas from which to take pictures, I don't think it justifies the price of admission.  There are plenty of places along the road to see waterfalls and coastline like here for free.  However, the grounds we saw were beautifully maintained.
google avatar

Amit T.

Yelp
I'm sad to see that anyone would review this place negatively, and because of the negative reviews I almost decided to skip this place, but I am soooo glad i didn't. First, I loved how passionate the staff were about the plants and about keeping the planet clean. Secondly, there is so much to do here! We were only going to spend about 30 minutes walking around, but my boyfriend and I spent about 2 hours here! There are incredible views, the plants and trees are labeled, and there is so so much to look at! i felt so at peace walking around, breathing in the clean air, and just enjoying nature. The best way to see the diverse plant life (+ other exotic plants) is here!

Yelp
Great views, awesome plants. We stopped here as a little detour on our Hana Highway trip. We ate at the cafe which was absolutely delicious, and then drove through the park, taking some time to go to the outlooks and trails. Nice little spot.

Yelp
I'm surprised at the negative reviews. Yes, $15 is a little steep, but it is Hawaii and everything cost more. There is a discount for AAA members. Like many others, we were on our way to Hana. We had read about this place before and knew we wanted to stop here. The other reviewers that say you will see everything just along the Hana Highway are so wrong. Will you see all the beautiful plants and birds. Of course not. We are very glad we stopped by here and will return on our next trip to Maui.

Yelp
If you like gardens or want to take a short walk around greenery, this is the place to go. Entry is $20 per person, bit pricy but worth for the experience. Guest can go with their car to stop at multiple points around the garden. The trees, trails, and mountain/waterfall view was so breathtaking~ They also have wild animals like peacocks and ducks, very beautiful sight. Def a insta pic worthy place. They have chairs and tables so perfect place to have a picnic too. In addition to garden, they have a small pop up cafe and gift store. Also have flushable stalls as well. Whole trail takes around an hour to go through, pretty small garden. Would def recommend stopping by here for a break from the city lights.

Yelp
We were driving the Hana Highway and saw the Garden of Eden. I had seen it in years past and it was ok. We asked the gentleman working the line the cost to enter. He said you have to ask the front gate. We said we just wanted to know the price before waiting in the long line. He was very short and rude. I got out and walked to the booth and they told me the price. I asked if the gentleman knew it and they said yes. I told them he wouldn't tell us and they were shocked. We pulled out and left. The price is $20 per adult and $10 per child.

Yelp
This place was beautiful!!! We are so glad we stopped. There was a small fee to get in, but definitely worth it. Be sure to apply bug spray though. That goes for any place you visit along the road to Hana.

Yelp
Tourist trap alert! Please skip this place unless you have nothing else to do. Its $20 per person and really not worth it, well at least for us. I should've done some research before.

Yelp
This is a five star experience for hawaiian tropical plant enthusiasts. Since my family falls into this niche, this is my rating. This was the most pleasureable part of the road to Hana. We got there early enough (8:30 AM) to avoid the staggering car pile up that occurs later in the day. The wide array of tropical and the breathtaking size of the specimen makes it a worthy stop for those who know the tropical plant world. The enterance fee is hefty. I would avoid bringing children and would think twice about coming here if you are ambivalent towards tropical plants. You can get a taste by going to the free arboretum later on the road, but the Garden is a much much better experience for tropical enthusiasts. TL; DR: Amazing experience for the right crowd, but definitely not worth the price for everyone

Yelp
Ok so this is a bit pricy but it is BEAUTIFUL! It is perfectly manicured and a great stopping point on the road to Hana. Horticulturists would love it and anyone who appreciates a good flower. There are also good views of falls and the coast. There are rest rooms, birds and ducks to feed, and many places to take a rest both shaded and sunny. Enjoy!
