"Next to Kyoto Botanical Gardens is this modern space designed by celebrated architect Tadao Ando, who kept much of the structure below ground level so as not to interrupt the view from the gardens to the Higashiyama mountains. It’s designed for walking around, with slopes and stairs running across different levels. Eight facsimiles of well-known paintings adorn the space, including Monet’s “Water Lilies”, which is reproduced on porcelain and immersed in a shallow pond."

Must visit if you’re an architecture & history & art buff… Can’t believe they only charge 200 yen for this whole exhibition…. Amazing architecture design & beautiful world famous art works of both western & eastern cultures.

I couldn’t stop saying “wow” the whole time I was there. Garden of Fine Arts Kyoto is 100% worth visiting if it’s your first time. Entrance was only ¥200 for adults & they had free bicycle parking. When I went, there were only about 5 ppl. It was super quiet and peaceful plus the sound of the water fountain made it even more relaxing The Last Supper piece might look small in photos, but it’s actually pretty big. And the biggest painting? It literally made me gasp. SO. FREAKIN. BEAUTIFUL. Overall, such a great experience. Tho honestly, I probably wouldn’t go again unless they add more pieces (there were less than 10 artworks total, I think) Still, definitely a must-visit!

The cost is 200 yen. It has a the copies of great works. And they are so beautiful. They have waterfalls around which drowns out the city noises and gives a very relaxing atmosphere. I was there for a good while to enjoy the material. This is outdoor so most parts do not have a cover so if it rains you should bring an umbrella. It technically is three floors. The architecture is beautiful and simple. A lot of picture opportunities

There's only like 7-8 work of arts here if that's what you are for. My friend recommended this to me because I like Brutalist buildings and to be honest that's its actual appeal. The entrance fee is 200 yen so like one rice ball so you can just try.

It was just next to the exit of the Kitayama metro station. Reasonable entrance fee. Went there to see Tadao Ando's design. A rather surreal display of famous art / paintings as it was all displayed outdoors, with Monet's water lilies under water. Definitely a different experience. While we were there, a group of veterans were playing music.

A must-visit if you are passionate about architecture. An immersive experience, where the visual aspect is coupled with the sound of water and a peculiar smell. Definitely made me even more curious to learn about Tadao Ando’s works

As expected, Dadao Ando. It must have been quite difficult to build. Famous paintings are displayed outside the building. It's even more charming on a rainy day. The entrance fee is less than 1 dollar. It's right next to the subway station.

Amazing experience. Little or no crowds at all.
