Had an incredible 2 nights stay at the beautiful cottage with my partner. We arrived late at night and Jessica gave us very precise instructions and made sure the light was on for us to find our way. The cottage is beautiful and quaint- we loved the hardwood floors and the bathtub! The space had lots of light and felt homey and very clean. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept like babies. The gardens were a really lovely sight to wake up to the next morning. We wandered around the grounds and found 3 very eager and friendly goats, lots of chickens, beautiful rose gardens and overall such an idyllic environment. I'd imagine this would be a perfect place for a wedding or special event and hope we'll have an occasion to do so in the future here. Thanks again for the beautiful experience. Highly recommend this for a weekend getaway, wedding, or anniversary!

What a hidden gem! This place was the perfect dose of nature that we needed. The grounds are beautifully manicured to delight all of your senses. The fresh air, flora, and fauna will remind you that there are so many natural wonders in this world that you have yet to experience. We especially loved the "English" style gardens with its hidden splendor. Bravo to the caretakers of this estate, as it must be a monumental task.

🌹 Garden Valley Ranch is a dream! We got married here in May 2023 and it was such a magical and lovely space. I looked at other venues but when we got to GVR we knew we found our spot. We wanted an outdoor wedding — and the rose garden is such a special and beautiful place. The Secret Garden is such a cool feature as well; we loved how we could utilize all the different spaces but how close everything was - super accessible and easy for our guests to walk between ceremony to cocktail hour then back to the lawn for dinner. Even though we didn’t use the barn for the wedding, it’s such a great space and is nice to have access (it allowed us to have a quick backup plan in case we needed to move indoors, luckily we didn’t). Jessica (the owner) was so great to work with and really helped as I did a lot of the planning myself. We were even able to do our own flowers and store them overnight in the garden shop fridge. Another benefit is we were able to drop off decor and rentals early and picked up the next day (which was super helpful, in case that’s an option). I also appreciated the really nice permanent (accessible) restrooms — ie no rental of porta potty! GVR also has tables and chairs for up to 150 people, so another thing you don’t have to worry about! I loved GVR and all our guests LOVED the space. It was such a beautiful day. 🍽️ Also shoutout to our caterer Belfare (Erik Lowe) who did an amazing job with the food (guests raved about it)!

Google
I accompanied a friend who is planning a wedding here and was very impressed with the Ranch. It is well maintained and beautiful. Jessica gave us a tour and was great to us. Took her time giving us a tour of the grounds answered all our questions. They have a garden maze and a nice koi pond. Would highly recommend considering this place to have an event here. Apparently they also open up to the public on days they don't have events. Definitely worth a visit.

Google
Working with Jessica was a dream. I booked the Carraige House for my daughter's bridal shower in November 2024. The venue was perfect for our shower, but what really makes this a 5 star location is Jessica. Thank you Jessica for being so kind and helpful.

My husband and I got married at Garden Valley Ranch on 6/4/22. The moment we stepped onto this beautiful venue, we knew it was something magical. The owner, Jessica, is the kindest human and made the entire planning process so easy and stress-free. We had several wedding guests tell us that Garden Valley Ranch was the most incredible wedding venue they had ever been to. We feel so lucky to have been able to get married here, our day felt like something out of a movie. We can't wait to come back and visit every year. Thank you x a million, Jessica and family!

Google
This place was open but an event was going on inside when we arrived. It’s a great spot to hold weddings and other events. So calm, serene and beautiful. Roses were everywhere! The pond was so peaceful with a buddha statute and a tiny foot over bridge. Would love to visit again and explore more!

Constance

Google
Beautiful venue with gorgeous rose gardens. There must be 1,000 rose bushes with classic, well maintained grounds.

Yelp
We could not have dreamed of a more perfect place to hold our wedding last May. It almost feels unreal that a place as beautiful as Garden Valley Ranch exists. The entire property is breathtaking and there is nothing better than the sight and smell of fresh roses everywhere! Our guests raved (and even a year out they're still dropping us compliments) about how gorgeous the Belvedere lawn area and Secret Garden were, which is where we held our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. The koi pond is a hidden gem that we loved doing our first look at. Working with Jessica made planning our vision for the day feel so easy. She is so kind, responsive, generous, and professional. She and the team had also worked with many of our other vendors who were local to the area, so we felt at ease knowing everything would go just as planned on such a busy day. Garden Valley Ranch is a stunning place and we cannot recommend it enough. Our wedding day flew by so fast and we wished we had gotten more time to enjoy this beautiful space!

Yelp
Stayed here one night through AirBnB and it was wonderfully tranquil. I spent a happy afternoon snapping pictures of flowers and wandering around to meet the animals (a poodle, hens, and three very loud goats). Downtown is 12 minutes away and there is a strawberry farm nearby. In the morning, you can forage for flowers with pruner and gloves provided, so you get to take some beautiful flowers home.

Jennifer N.

Yelp
I did not partake in or host an event at Garden Valley Ranch but had an opportunity to visit their grounds during the spring Sonoma County Farm trails weekend (May 2023.) They opened the ground to the public and we were given an opportunity to wander their garden paths, see inside their buildings and enjoy some of their farm animals. The grounds are lovely and well kept. Roses are starting to bloom and there is an array of other flowers and plants coming alive after a rainy winter. I can definitely see how hosting a special event here would beautiful. You have the garden scenery, gazebo, old barn and a beautiful koi pond. Really enjoyed the time spent wandering the ground and appreciate these folks opening up for the Sonoma farm tours so we could take a peek in!

Alison Y.

Yelp
It was beautiful to spend Mother's Day at the Garden Valley Ranch. Jessica set up tables where we could bring in a picnic, and my family enjoyed the opportunity to walk around the property and forage for flowers. What a fantastic and unique experience! Thank you, GVR!

Claire H.

Yelp
Update: We had our baby shower in the secret garden and it was very cozy and intimate. We loved the different trees that gave us shade, and the sunny spots where the light gleamed in. We have been hosting several events at GVR now and it's never been anything but magical. There are so many different sections and grounds. There is defiantly something for any type of event here. Jess and the team are wonderful. So kind, listens to your needs and delivers. Thank you for another unforgettable day.

Ahnee M.

Yelp
We had a beautiful memorial for my mom at the 20 year anniversary of her passing, at Garden Valley Ranch in the Secret garden and it was truly perfect! That part of the property is quaint and was an idyllic backdrop by the large fountain, for us to gather and share some memories and remember her together. We then had a nice catered lunch in the gazebo or Belvedere. Every detail was perfect and the owners are so kind and generous, allowing us to make a special heart photo display of pictures of my mom surrounded by roses. Although many people think of the place as a venue for weddings, it's also very special for intimate gatherings like end of life or memorials. We will always have a place in our hearts for this place and never forget this special day!

Yelp
This place is amazing. My girlfriend treated me to one of my first getaways in years and i cant think of a better place for us to have gone together. Patrick and Jessica were the best and couldn't have been more welcoming. The sheep and goats were a huge plus as that's rare doe me to ever get to see up close as a city guy. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back

Kenzi K.

Yelp
Absolutely STUNNING place to have a wedding, we are so lucky to have had our wedding there in May. Jessica was a pleasure to work with and such a kind person. Our wedding turned out magical and all of our guests were taken aback by how beautiful the grounds were. Our special day could not have been any more perfect and we are so grateful!! Thank you Garden Valley Ranch team!!!

Terri T.

Yelp
WOW this was an amazing spot for our wedding! There are so many beautiful areas to take wedding pictures with your honey and family photos! This is a must see spot before you pick your wedding venue for your special day!!! The owner of the property was very accommodating for our small wedding ceremony.

Adam O.

Yelp
Our Family loves spending time at the Garden Valley Ranch! They have done an amazing job at creating and maintaining such a beautiful property in Sonoma County. We recommend it to everyone.

Linda L.

Yelp
Garden valley ranch is filled with such beautiful and fragrant roses. Jessica gave us a very informative tour of the grounds which included a rustic carriage house and cottage. We attended a private evening event that included strung lights, fire pits, photo booth, oyster bar, and an amazing guitarist. The first floor of the carriage house had a wine bar and appetizers and the guest moved to the 2nd floor for a quaint and intimate dinner. This place has so much to offer for any kind of event: wedding, birthdays, anniversaries and holiday parties. I highly recommend coming out for a tour if you are looking for a special venue....they are also very dog friendly! I can't wait for the new seasons of roses! And they also provide different flower workshops which include wreath making, flower crowns, and wearable flower jewelry. Check out their website!

Bobbi Michelle W.

Yelp
Garden Valley is charming and delightful and full of gracious people who patiently attend to visitors and guess as if they were cherished clients or dear friends. The grounds are ample and lush with plenty of hardscape for those who like to wear fancier shoes or who aren't as sure footed on uneven surfaces. Little kids, big kids and adults will be whisked off to a more nostalgic time when the country was full of family farms, you and the neighbors gardened and everyone sat on their porch drinking sun tea and talking about the weather and what would becoming into season

Briana G.

Yelp
I had my wedding at Garden Valley Ranch and loved it. The venue is so accommodating and unique. If you are looking for a wine country wedding without the winery this is a great option. There are various spaces to celebrate, one of my favorites is the secret garden, a must see, perfect for first look and cocktail hour. Jessica has great communication and shared various solution when we needed them. I loved getting to know her through the planning process. She really cares for the property and roses and it shows! We look forward to visiting Garden Valley Ranch annually to celebrate our wedding and purchase roses for our home!

Carlos K.

Yelp
Easily the most beautiful venue north of San Francisco! When the roses are blooming, the entire property feels like a small piece of heaven. In the off-season, there's an incredible rustic charm that makes you want to stay forever. Couple the incredible ambiance with an incredibly skilled team of professionals, and you have the perfect wedding and event venue. Jessica and Justin are two of the most reliable and experienced professionals in the business. Garden Valley Ranch has my highest recommendation!

Miss L.

Yelp
What a beautiful venue!! Will definitely be having my wedding here! Love the owners, they're absolutely sweet! Love their energy!

Maggie J.

Yelp
Did you know that each breed of roses has its distinct scent? Not all rose(water) are made the same (it also takes hundreds of thousands of petals). I was at a dinner event that Jessica and Justin hosted with a local butchery Thistle Meat, winery, and musician. Couldn't have asked for a better way to spend the evening. Not only learned a ton about roses, but met an incredible community of talented makers and builders :-) The Garden Valley is a minimalistic series of mini gardens and sculptures that climaxes to the breathtaking rose garden. Obviously makes for a gorgeous wedding venue, but they also host various special events so you don't need to dig up an excuse. Just show up and you won't regret it. Last time Jess let me leave with a few different buds. They blossomed over the next week and, I agree with her, "Heritage" definitely has the sweetest scent.

Yelp
This place is just such a beautiful magical rose garden right in Petaluma, just a short drive from the city. The Rose gardens are breathtaking, with lots of cute little paths to take you around the premises so you can explore the carriage house, pond, fountains, secret garden and nursery. They have over 100 species of garden roses and the newly renovated grounds really do make it an enchanting space for an indoor or an outdoor event. Yesterday we joined their Thanksgiving event which was spectacular. With the beautiful pink sunset we had champagne and fresh Oysters from the oyster bar. Then we proceeded into the recently renovated Carriage House which seated all 70+ of us but looks like it would easily accommodate 100+. The dinner was delicious and it's really a wonderful place for a wedding/ engagement party or company event. Highly highly suggest checking it out.

Holly D.

Yelp
Garden Valley Ranch is definitely more than what one who think of a garden nursery, As a professional photographer, I am always in search for new and interesting venues, Garden Valley Ranch is a hidden jewel. This 5 acre property is a fairytale experience perfect for engagement, wedding or vow renewal. All the lively and beautiful roses! The fountains, paths, arches, and beautiful landscapes will take your breath away!

gemma m.

Yelp
Such a beautiful piece of property! Right when you step on the grounds you can smell the flowers. The secret garden was my daughter's favorite place. The guest cottage is mine. And, you can rent it out! It's so warm, inviting and peaceful. A solo getaway to the cottage is in my future no doubt. The new owners are doing an incredible job. Their Mother's Day Open House was such a delight. They are off to a wonderful start. We will definitely be back!

Weyland W.

Yelp
This place is amazing, I was in downtown Petaluma searching for a venue to throw a party for a family reunion and came across Garden Valley Ranch. The staff right from the beginning was very accommodating in answering all my questions and actually had some great suggestions on how to maximize on the space. It has a part that is quaint and intimate to large open places for a band or lecture, the prices were spot on. Great place for a wedding, family reunion, team building events and concert. I definitely think the new owners have really spruced this place up and made it really welcoming. This is truly a hidden gem of Petaluma, I will definitely use them again.

Steve S.

Yelp
Was a vendor for this wedding site a few weeks back and have never had such a bad experience from a professional site. They were anything but professional, coming out at 8PM and telling the wedding we had to turn down the music due to neighbors(ordinance is till 10PM). At 9PM on the dot the lady came out and just UNPLUGGED my DJ equipment! Are you kidding me,they were super rude and wanted us out of there as soon as we got there. I would NOT get married here!!!! Brides beware!!!!

Ahnee M.

Yelp
Mother's Day at the Garden Valley Ranch! Music, arrangement workshop for kids, and picnicking on the grounds! Best way to celebrate Mother's Day with the community!

Antoinette N.

Yelp
This review is about a year overdue...my husband and I got married at Garden Valley Ranch last May over Memorial Day Weekend. Garden Valley is such a spectacular and intimate place that you'll immediately fall in love the second you step foot in the venue. We were lucky to have our wedding outdoors right after the first full bloom. The staff was very accommodating, especially since our wedding was hyper DIY. I could not have asked for a more perfect place to get married!

Laurel Z.

Yelp
I stopped there years ago, I was looking for some hard to find roses and yes, they did have the roses, but the roses there are not in good shape. In fact, both of the roses I bought there died from Brown Canker Cryptosporella umbrina. I did spray them, but the canker was inside the wood of the canes, first one cane would turn black and then cut it off then another died and no new canes came up eventually to replace the dead canes. The man who was in the office was kind of unfriendly, but not exactly rude. The roses were expensive, but yet they were hard to find ones. I would not buy there again, because I am just amusing that the brown canker rot is in all of the roses, but that was a year of heavy rain, so I don't really know. I had a bad experience, but the jury is out. You could find a rose there and nursery it back to health and it could work out, provided the diseases it has are simple cases of leaf fungal and not anything terminal. Maybe they got new roses in since then and then with the drought maybe there no more cane rot? But, this 2015 -2016 winter has seen a heavy rain. So I would be worried about the cane rot problem.

Caili C.

Yelp
I photographed a wedding here and I can't get over this venue. It is so unique and gorgeous. The venue requires little decoration because it already is so stunning. And it's isolated so it feels intimate and comfortable https://www.cailichung.com/single-post/2018/09/24/Samuel-Samantha-Garden-Valley-Ranch

Yelp
We don't even know where to begin - Jessica and her beautiful venue Garden Valley Ranch saved our wedding. Without her, we would have had to cancel the entire weekend. Because of her kindness and the hospitality of her family we were able to have a wedding weekend we will never ever forget. We were married on October 14th 2017, but our original venue was impacted by the Northern California fires (Trentadue Winery). As it turns out, Garden Valley Ranch has recently changed ownership which is why it did not come up on our wedding venue searches! If it had, I am sure we would have considered it as our original venue. Anyways, two days before our wedding, we lost both our rehearsal dinner venue AND our reception venue. We were tired, exhausted and had almost 200 guests flying from all over the world to be with us. When we discovered Jessica's Garden Valley Ranch, we both started crying (actually, sobbing). It was fate - the venue had a last minute dinner cancellation that had made it available for both our Rehearsal dinner and Reception. Not only did Jessica save the weekend by allowing us to book her place last minute, but she also fed us, offered her cottage to our family when their hotel was burned by the fires, AND handmade beautiful flower arrangements for our rehearsal dinner. Bottom line - Jessica is one of the most amazing, generous women that we have ever met and because of her our friends and family were able to get together for the entire weekend. She is exactly the type of person you want to work with when it comes to celebrating love. Plus, she is easy to reach, flexible, and one of the friendliest vendors we have ever worked with (I don't think she stopped smiling for a second). Let's talk about the venue itself: Garden Valley Ranch is STUNNING. From what I understand, the property was recently renovated. It is a 5 acre property with multiple different options for events: there is a secret garden right out of a story book, a Gazebo area with a brick dance floor, a two story renovated barn, and a beautiful enclave with string lights surrounded by flowers and trees. All of the Ranch is connected by rows and rows of beautiful roses of every color imaginable (smells amazing, in fact it smelled so good that we didn't even smell any smoke). Our guests felt like they were at a botanical garden right out of a movie. We had two different events (reception and rehearsal) at the Ranch, but the property is so big that our guests felt like they were in two separate venues. Our guests walked through rows of roses to get to the secret garden for cocktail hour. We had dinner right in front of the barn surrounded by string lights and the peaceful sounds of the fountain. We used the bottom story of the barn for dancing. We decorated the barn with lots of string lights which really helped set a magical mood. Our wedding went perfectly and our guests will remember the weekend for a really long time. Many of our guests told us that Garden Valley Ranch is one of the most beautiful venues they have ever seen! We will forever be grateful that we were able to spend the best day of our lives at Garden Valley Ranch. We will never forget Jessica's hospitality and how great it was to work with her. THANK YOU!

Jess S.

Yelp
It's like fairytale! The picturesque views in every direction! We were here for a wedding and it is a breathtaking venue!

Jennifer K.

Yelp
This is a hidden little gem that you just can't miss. Garden Valley Ranch has really transformed under the new owners to be a destination for locals, events and to just enjoy nature. If you are in the area, come check out one of their holiday parties, it will not disappoint. They always try to support local business for all their food / beverage needs. I love that they do this and help the local economy. My favorite was the Thistle Meat that they had during their Thanksgiving party. I still have dreams about the BBQ. The amount of thought they put into all the little details to make it Instagram worth makes me drool. They have vintage cars, water fountains, mini villas if you want to do an overnight, vintage carousel animals and of course rows and rows of amazing and beautiful roses all impeccably maintained. You can tell a lot of love has been put into this venue and the owners genuinely care about the guest experience. This isn't just a venue but a place to make beautiful memories. If you are looking for a unique venue for your wedding, family reunion or you live local and are looking for a new place to hang out, Garden Valley Ranch is your place. This place feels like home but more awesome. Dog friendly so well behaved dogs are allowed. Just remember to pick up after your pooch! What more can you ask for?

Chloe M.

Yelp
Ever wondered hot NOT to let your garden grow? Come here and find out. Weeds galore, over grown, untended. Ooof! It looks like it was abandoned 2 years ago. The fact other reviewers are talking about how gorgeous it is... all I can say is, a garden can go to seed in a couple of months.

Theresa B.

Yelp
I was on a quest for three very specific roses, and thanks to helpmefind.com, I reached out to Garden Valley. Not only were their staff responsive and helpful in email, but they were delightful in person. The retail roses here are of exceptional quality, and I was able to find two of the obscure darlings for which I had been searching. After discussing my microclimate with Fallon, she walked me around looking at and discussing every option. She selected the very best stock she had available for me, took great care with the loading into my not-designed-for-plants car, and sent me on my way 100% happier for the experience. What a joy to work with someone knowledgeable and so very pleasant! Although I visited early in the season for full effect, the grounds are lovely. I could easily see an enchanted wedding here, as every aspect of the estate lends itself to photography. Well worth the hour drive up to it. Wish I had more garden space.

Justin L.

Yelp
Our group recently had an event at Garden Valley Ranch. What a gorgeous site! If you are looking for a place for a wedding, corporate event, family reunion, etc. this is a beautiful outdoor venue with so many photogenic spots. It was a pure joy to just stroll around and take it all in. I understand the ranch is under new management, so it is sure to improve.

Jim B.

Yelp
They're a great venue, we just had our company holiday party in the carriage house. It's only recently added as an event space on property, and is a great addition. We've been out there many times before for other outdoor events, but the addition of the indoor section adjoining a nicely revamped courtyard makes the space usable year round. We didn't use the gardens, but the new owners have done a very nice job of upgrading them too. Highly recommend.

Sam M.

Yelp
My husband and I decided we wanted to find a venue on our own-an incredibly hard job if you ask us! We really wanted to find a venue that wasn't too expensive, but also were able to bring in our own catering. Initially we wanted an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception but after seeing beautiful pictures of these rose gardens we decided to go all outdoors and it was the best decision! We did visit the gardens in January where the weather didn't do the gardens justice, but we trusted mother nature and of course the good word of Jessica and we took a leap of faith. Just look at the photos and let it speak for itself. Jessica is so responsive and it was an easy process! There are multiple locations that you can have your ceremony/reception. There is also a barn and maybe 2-3 other areas we did not use that day. So much space and it's all yours! We used buses to transport our guests and there is a separate parking lot for the buses to come and for your guests to park.

Walt W.

Yelp
Beautiful property with wonderful landscape, lush gardens, interesting features and pathways, fountains, and of course the rose gardens! Would be a fantastic place for weddings/receptions, intimate musical or theatrical events, and corporate retreats. Can't wait to return!!

A Y.

Yelp
This is under new management now. Come check it out. Perfect for wedding. Imagine thousands of roses as the backdrop of the pictures! You would be amazed.

Wally A.

Yelp
Very disappointing, six of us went at five dollars per person, probably not worth $.25. Overgrown with weeds, bugs and flies. Roses were not not properly maintained. The potential for a beautiful garden is there.

Sandy R.

Yelp
Yesterday my friends and I had a very disturbing visit to Garden Valley Ranch. We were there maybe 5-10 minutes and we only saw dead roses and a very polluted pond and at that point we decided to go ask for a refund and go into town. The owner was sitting in the shop where you pay $ 5.00 each to tour the premises. When we told him we would like a refund due to the fact that the flowers were dead and had not been tended to in some time he yelled at us that there were no refunds. We are 62, 66 and 73 year old women. I asked again for a refund and he started to scream at us to leave. He identified himself as the owner but would not give us his name. He then approached us in a very menacing manner and we decided to vacate the premises.

Danielle B.

Yelp
I would NEVER recommend anyone consider having their wedding at this Garden. Although we had ours there, had we known the way the owner Mark was going to treat us throughout the duration of our engagement I would have ran the other way. When we toured the property we should have known just by the way he greeted us at the gates. Being that it was our first time on the property, we accidentally pulled into the wrong gate, where our first encounter with Mark began. He came out and asked us what we were doing and very rudely said the parking is the next entrance with the sign that says parking. After touring the property, which I fell in love with, my now husband wanted to continue looking. I loved the feel of the garden setting so we booked it. That's when our troubled began. When we would come to look at the property we felt like we were an inconvenience to mark. Guests of ours visited the property prior to the wedding and got into a verbal altercation because they wanted to walk the grounds and mark told them to look in the books. The week before our wedding we decided to book the cottage so myself and my bridesmaids could have a place to wait and get our final touches prior to the ceremony. Mark informed us we could drop off any of our things in the kitchen and I could put any belongings I wanted in the cottage as well as early as Wednesday. We hand crafted every detail of our wedding. We had a trailer full of signs and decorations unique to our wedding that needed safe keeping and to be onsite for the day of coordinator. After driving 45 minutes stuck in traffic with both of our kids, we get onsite Wednesday after hours like informed not to interrupt business hours and were told to turn around that we could not leave our stuff. Prior to booking, I checked thoroughly with mark about doing sky lanterns as a closing ceremony. He agreed for us to do this. The day after the wedding my family met us to to clean up the property and insure we get our deposit back. The cottage was equipped with 8 wine glasses, 4 different sets. I asked mark to come check to make sure he saw the cottage and glasses were cleaned and in place as well as the rest of the gardens and he refused to walk the property and to check the cottage. That following Monday I get a call from him screaming at me for leaving his cottage a mess and that I "threw a party" in his cottage without his permission and had too many people in his cottage. He also stated the glassware was missing and their were sky lanterns on a neighboring property. I offered to give him a brand new set of 12 matching reidel stemware because we received an extra set as a gift and to come pick up any lanterns that when unnoticed. He continued to be irrate and tell me that the cows in the pasture posed a threat and His neighbor was beyond angry. I took the liberty that week to call and speak to the neighbors and in fact what Mark had stated was untrue and they were not upset, they called to inform him and asked that someone come pick up the few that they found. Not the 50+ he had said. All said and done he charged us $600 of our deposit for what could have been at most 10 paper lanterns and to my recollection no missing glasses. After meeting with guests if our wedding and our coordinator, several people saw a man with a ball cap and sweats come into the reception area to grab food, drinks and cake throughout the event. Mark. I would never refer anyone here. He has lost his passion to be in this industry and looking back leaves a sour taste in my mouth. The gardens and my wedding was beautiful in every way, but he made every aspect as miserable and excruciating as possible. I've spoken with another couple who had gotten married there and didn't have any such problems. They didn't deal with him first hand, their coordinator did, so I feel as though that plays a role in the discrimination.

Boryana M.

Yelp
We just checked it out for a wedding venue and it looks very tempting. Pro: Lots of roses... acres of roses with white structures, a very appropriate wedding venue. Cons: some highway noise and cars nearby on Pepper road there are cows all around, and yes, they do smell. hopefully in the summer the smell of the roses will overpower it.. hopefully more updates later

Linda L.

Yelp
I am so excited to write this review as I just visited Garden Valley Ranch this past weekend for Mother's Day. My husband surprised me with a visit to the site. If we weren't already married, I would have wanted our wedding to be there. The site had a number of houses onsite, so you can easily have a wedding and have closer family and friends stay there, including even a place to host a decent sized reception. Of course, the grounds were gorgeous and to have the rose garden as a backdrop for the ceremony would be just perfect. There were beautiful roses everywhere and all different kinds. We stopped into the shop and bought some flowers on our way out. We met the owner and I just learned that they just bought the place. They were super nice and offered free cookies and lemonade and roses. I'd definitely go back to buy fresh cut roses and even see if I could have a picnic on the grounds.

Yelp
We had our wedding ceremony here in August. The place was absolutely beautiful, roses in bloom, sunny day, smelled good... The owner was very friendly and helpful. He supplied us with everything we needed for the event. For an outdoor wedding this is a great venue. I am quite pleased with my experience with Garden Valley Ranch.

Yelp
We used GVR for our wedding and I have to say, it was the greatest venue we have ever seen!! We only looked at a couple places for our wedding and Garden Valley was the last one we visited because it was just so perfect. From the cottages, to the gazebo, to the gardens, it was way more than we'd hoped for a venue. Mark Grimm and Fallon Anderson were the two I interacted the most, and they were just so professional and kind to my wife and I over the past year. Going through all the planning was so easy and never had any mixups. We even got to spend our wedding night at the main cottage! Thanks so much guys, we had an amazing day and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Yelp
I got married here this past May and it was amazing. The grounds were stunning and it smelled like roses as soon as you stepped out of the car. Mark and his staff we so easy to work with and were very accommodating of my set up, rehearsal, and event clean up. Mark was also really great about answering all of my crazy questions in the months leading up to the wedding. There was plenty of space and parking for my guests and everyone loved walking around and seeing the grounds. My husband and I rented the cottage the week before and it was amazing, it felt like a mini vacation. The cottage was beautiful and it really helped us get organized before the big day. Mark was really sweet and even sent me a vase of my favorite cut roses when I was getting ready. To help remember the day I bought a potted rose and it is still thriving despite my black thumb. I could not have imagined a more perfect place to get married.

Yelp
Last Saturday Night we attended the Thistle Meats, Barber Cellars, and Garden Valley Ranch property grounds tour, Prior to we were treated to a huge spread of Thistle's charcuterie delights along with some of Barber Cellars latest releases...A Great Paring. The dinner fare was beyond belief. The evening setting sun and rising moon were all part of another beautiful visit to this very special place. We Will Be Back, As often as invited.

Yelp
As a city dweller aching for some nature time, I went to the 1st Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Garden Valley Ranch and had a beautiful day on the grounds surrounded by beautiful blossoms, cute farm animals, delicious pineapple soft serve, friendly people, fresh air and awesome views. The owners Jessica and Justin are some of the most creative and good-hearted people and their vision for the ranch is really inspiring to see in person! Definitely going back for more events!

Yelp
I was married in one of their first weddings here 25 years ago. Today one of my guests said it was the most beautiful wedding she has ever attended, and it was absolute perfection from my point of view, too. We requested some changes from their usual set up and all were granted. We had the ceremony in the original Victorian garden and ran tables under the ancient wisteria arbor and served lunch there. We liked those natural settings far more than the elaborate and recently added ones like the belvedere, and what looks like a LOT of other pretend Victorian structures . When you look at this setting, consider which you're looking for, and make sure this location can accomodate it. We especially loved the scents. I was allowed to chose the exact bush that my bouquet roses came from. I still have my bouquet, and it is still fragrant ( especially the lemon verbena from the herb garden) after 25 years! I can still remember the scents of my wedding day after all these years! There is only one thing I would change about the day if I could do it over, and that is I would rent it for the entire day instead of half. BTW, our wedding was the end of August and the weather was perfect, as I was assured. About the revew that said all the roses had died and the place wasn't cared for any longer. Mr. Reddell was a universally revered expert on roses and has written books on the subject. He would never have allowed this to happen under his watch. He sold GVR to Mark Grim in 2005, and i see it is up for sale again. Consider this and make sure you actually visit the place before you commit to it.

Yelp
I attended a wedding ceremony and reception that followed at this place a few weeks ago, and was really surprised at the beauty and charm of the place! A real hidden gem..! The Victorian buildings were quaint, and the rows and rows of garden roses were really something to see,and they were actually REAL garden roses, all in bloom, that had an incredible fragrance., just like my mom raised back in Virginia. After the ceremony we were able to walk around the "fragrance garden" and get some great photos at sunset.I understand that you can go there for a walking tour of the gardens, and buy cut flowers too to take home with you. I would definately encourage everyone to check it out..!

Yelp
This place is magical. It's so beautiful to spend some time walking through the rows of roses (see what I did there?) and the secret garden. And the people that work there are so friendly and welcoming. A perfect place to start your day exploring Petaluma / wine country!

Yelp
We just attended a Mother's Day picnic this past weekend. It was just lovely, a beautiful day, roses in bloom galore, and the guitarist was so talented and played a wide variety of music. We couldn't ask for a more enjoyable day. The new proprietors were very friendly and warm. Clearly enthusiastic and full of energy. They indicated that they were going to make this an annual event. We will surely attend each year.
