Great B&B! From Rhonda’s gourmet breakfasts to Chris’ wonderful hiking and restaurant recommendations, we enjoyed every minute in Whitefish. The room was cozy and well appointed with plush towels and the civilized wake up coffee was so appreciated. The location is perfect for walking into town and driving to Glacier. Such a gem!

We have had opportunities to travel and primarily stay in B&B’s.|This B&B is incredible. By Far the best breakfast by the friendlies two people, cleanest, comfortable rooms. |Chris is amazing. Knowledge of local restaurants, places to go, and things to do is the best that we have ever dealt with.|Rhonda is an amazing cook. We stayed here 4 nights. Each morning we thought best breakfast we have ever had. At least until the following morning she topped the previous day.|I strongly recommend the breathtaking views of East Glacier paired with a nite or two at the Garden Wall Inn. As a must vacation to experience.

This is the most fantastic bed and breakfast we have ever stayed in!! Everything from the outstanding breakfast to the supremely comfortable rooms to the hosts Chris and Rhonda who treat you like privileged family. The fresh flowers, the morning meals on the beautiful patio.. |If you are anywhere near Glacier National Park this is where you must stay!!

Chris was amazing and so accommodating! Loved waking up to a Civilized Wake up of coffee! Breakfast every day was fantastic, and Chris knew the area and suggested places to see moose and bears for each of our hikes into Glacier. Would come back any time!

My wife and I stayed at this wonderful inn for our stay near Glacier national park. Rhonda and Chris were so helpful. The breakfast is amazing. Whitefish is a great town and the inn is walkable to restaurants in town. Highly recommend this B&B

We still talk about this wonderful B&B from 2018! Rhonda and Chris were so accommodating. The food and service were amazing-above five stars. Definitely the best B&B we ever experienced. Cannot recommend it strongly enough! Go and enjoy!

Three are at least three things that attract visitors to Whitefish, Montana. 1. The great outdoors to include hiking, skiing, bike cruising, trail walking, and the "Crown of the Continent", Glacier National Park. 2. Fantastic weather (especially for those of us who live in sweltering summer climates like the southeast and southwest). 3. Fun shopping and and great local fare like Tupelo Grill, Abruzzo Italian Kitchen, and Latitude 48 Bistro. For those of you who are looking for lodging, AND are a fan of Bed & Breakfast experiences, go no further than booking a room at Graden Wall Inn. Owners Rhonda Fitzgerald and Chris Schustrom are two of the best innkeepers in the tri-state area. They have been serving discerning travellers like you and me since 1987. Their attention to detail and service is top-of-mind and their unique breakfast offerings are some, if not the best, in Whitefish. Location, location, location...Just a block west of downtown Whitefish to include a plethora of dining and shopping options. Do yourself a favor. Research their reviews and decide for your self it it's not a great fit for your first or next visit to Whitefish.

This is probably the nicest b&b we have ever been to, Chris the owner/ manager took care of all our needs . His attention to detail is incredible |I would highly recommend garden wall to anyone wanting a very special getaway|It is wonderfully located just a few blocks from all the action

Yelp
This bed and breakfast is an incredible place to stay! Chris and Rhonda provide outstanding hospitality and exceeded our expectations. The room was comfortable and clean with fresh flowers from the garden. At night there were "sweet dreams" truffles and in the morning coffee was delivered to the room. Since I'm an early riser, coffee was also offered on the front porch. The gourmet breakfasts were excellent, such as the puff pastry filled with scrambled eggs, shrimp, mushrooms, and fresh herbs, drizzled with lemon sauce or stuffed French toast with brandy sauce - I felt like royalty. Chris served organic fruit beautifully arranged, warm scones or muffins, fresh squeezed juice and hot coffee (their own blend) before the main dish. Rhonda is quite a chef! Chris offered beach towels when we went to Whitefish Lake for a swim, provided tips of where to explore the area and checked to see if we needed anything. Both Chris and Rhonda are warm, caring individuals that made our stay the best ever. We highly recommend when in Whitefish don't miss a chance to stay at the Garden Wall Inn!

Yelp
Great, great place to stay. The inn is comfortable, spotless, and beautifully decorated. Hosts Chris and Rhonda are just lovely--they go out of their way to make guests feel welcome and cared for, with thoughtful attention to detail. The breakfasts were wonderful too. We came to see Glacier National Park but staying at Garden Wall Inn elevated the whole experience and made it feel special. Really one of the nicest inns we've stayed at and we travel a fair bit.

Yelp
What charm and elegance is packed into this perfect B&B experience. From the first view of the flower gardens this Inn is a delight to the senses. Stepping through the front door takes you back in time to a genteel unhurried atmosphere where the Manager greets you with engaged conversation as he shows you the house and bedroom. Every space is beautifully appointed; the furnishings and period fixtures are delightful. You want to spend time here even though fishing or hiking consumes most of your day. Breakfasts are divine, with Cordon Bleu menus to start your day on a very high note. Local made chocolates, fresh baked muffin, scones, and hand cut flowers; the little touches.. Oh, then there is the knock on the door, one half an hour before your selected breakfast time - with a pot of coffee or tea to wake to, how delightful. Rarely does a place to rest your head become the highlight of your destination. This is that exception - go out of your way to bathe in these delights! Thank you to Chris & Rhonda, what an experience; (thanks too for the loan of some wading boots).

Yelp
What an incredible "Home away from Home" this quaint little Bed and Breakfast was to me and my sister. We were greeted by Chris and Rhonda and shown to our beautiful, exceptionally clean and cozy room. We stayed for three nights and had delicious breakfasts out in the garden each morning and a plate of homemade appetizers and wine every evening. With walking distance to absolutely everything we so enjoyed our quiet days at the Garden Wall Inn.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at this lovely bed-and-breakfast for two nights while traveling in the Glacier National Park area. Upon arriving at this charming home we were greeted by Chris with evening hors d'oeuvres and drinks. Chris is very knowledgeable of the area and was a tremendous help in us planning our stay whether it was deciding where to go in the parks, going to dinner, evening music and he certainly made our stay quite enjoyable. The location is within a close walk to several restaurants and shops. Our room was comfortable and everything that we needed was already provided without even asking. Breakfast was absolutely delicious including organic and locally grown foods which I personally greatly appreciate. My husband and I enjoyed meeting other travelers staying here which is something you don't usually get when staying in a hotel or resort. The attention to detail was not overlooked in any way. Both Rhonda and Chris are delightful and wonderful hosts. I look forward to coming back to visit again.

Yelp
Ditto to all of the comments on the helpfulness and hospitality of the hosts. We experienced the same thing. I don't think I've ever sat in the living room and chatted with an inn owner over complimentary (good!) adult beverages for an hour. I also appreciated that they made our dinner reservations - that got us much better service! The inn is very close to "downtown" attractions. Whitefish is a lovely, and lively, place, especially considering its size. It was nice to come back to complimentary Port in the living room, which we enjoyed while getting to know another guest. The breakfast was quite good, which wasn't a surprise after learning about Rhonda's background. I also appreciated the high quality little touches, like the fresh flowers in the room and on the morning coffee tray, and the delicious "sweet dreams" chocolates. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is because the room was quite small without really anyplace for two people to sit and it was in a frou-frou/Art Deco style that reminded me too much of staying at my grandmother's.

Yelp
This was an amazing place, the Inn is in a great location and our room was fantastic. A great tub and shower combination and a wonderful king size bed that was extremely comfortable. But the best aspect of the Inn are the innkeepers. Both Rhonda and Chris are extremely knowledgable about the area and all the restaurants and activities in Flathead Valley and Glacier Park. They do everything to make your stay very pleasant and enjoyable. Breakfast is fantastic, we were served mango and papaya and a wonderful soufflé. When we left at 6:00, they had coffee and fruit prepared for our travels. I can't say enough as to how accommodating they are, in the evenings they put out a very nice spread of wine and cheese. This is a wonderful place to stay and worth every penny of its cost!

Yelp
We had a fantastic stay at the Garden Wall Inn. The building and furnishings are beautiful and well maintained with convenient walking access to the downtown shops and restaurants. The daily breakfast is expertly composed - 3 courses, everything prepared fresh from local ingredients, no grocery store muffins here. Above all, though, I have never experienced such gracious hospitality. Chris and the rest of the team have thought of every detail to make guests welcome and comfortable. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Yelp
Impeccable service!! Chris, one of the owners and innkeepers is amazing. He has a great style of being attentive, yet un-intrusive. We were pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail and overall inviting feeling of the inn. While the decor was not my style, it did not matter because everything else was so amazing. The food was delicious, Chris and the other owner are both trained chefs, and throughout our stay we felt like we were the innkeeper's priority. We were lucky enough to have Chris share some of his stories and experiences growing up in the area - who knew a wolverine had the ability to take on a grizzly bear? If you are looking for 5 star service with the coziness of a small inn, this is the place to be!!

Yelp
Rhonda and Chris are some of the most hospitable, warmest people we've met. On our last week in Whitefish, we bought a few heirloom tomatoes from the farmer's market, which we'd been eyeing for weeks. We consequently lost the tomatoes post dinner (owner of the restaurant threw it in the trash after it left, although it was in a grocery bag...) and we were devastated. We emailed the organizers of the farmer's market to see where we could get the tomatoes (as we weren't gonna be around for the next market), and Rhonda offered an heirloom tomato that she had bought from the market a day ago. We met Chris when we went to pick up, who was also incredibly warm. We wanted to return the favor somehow or at least pay for the tomato (they're not cheap tomatoes!!) and they wouldn't accept. You just don't meet people like Rhonda and Chris, who are kind and hospitable by nature. I can only imagine how amazing a bed and breakfast run by Rhonda + Chris would be - next time we're in Whitefish, we're going to make every effort to stay at Garden Wall Inn!

Yelp
Hands down the best experience we've had in a bed and breakfast- Chris(one of the owners and a local With great knowledge of the area) did an incredible job, providing an incredible stay, sitting with my wife and I, giving us info on places to see and offering suggestions for dinner spots all while serving snacks and drinks and tending the fire. The morning, in-room coffee service was a great way to wake up. The following breakfast Chris made was superb, incorporating many local ingredients and it was delicious. The overall experience A+++(that's my nomenclature for "the best"). The Inn is warm, well appointed with great furnishings and close to the fun in Whitefish. We walked everywhere and had a great time. We will be back for sure and I have already suggested the Garden Wall to friends and family. Thanks to the Garden Wall and thank you Chris- we'll see you again soon

Yelp
Beautiful little place with delicious preparaed breakfasts. :-) We were in Whitefish MT for a friends wedding and since we had only been married less than a month..we decided to 'splurge' on a bed and breakfast..... (courtesy of the sweet in-laws) The hotel was divine!!! Food delicious!!! Whitefish MT in general is gorgeous. I would love to go sometime in the winter one day and go snowboarding..... Our bedroom was well appointed and the bathroom was cute. The style is more of a Victorian Flair...elegant. I would love to come back again.

Yelp
I highly recommend this Inn. Awarding five stars is rare for me, even more-so for hotels; however, The Garden Wall Inn earns all of them. The service is impeccable; the place is warm and cozy; the breakfast is wonderful (as in damn-good-chef wonderful) with fresh juices and breads, wonderful egg dishes, catering to our dietary needs. We left breakfast each morning not sluggish, but energized. And the afternoon hors d'oeuvres were just right. The claw-foot bathtubs are a wonderful touch, and the wrap around curtains and rain-shower heads with great water pressure make for a great end to a day. It was my first time booking my family in Whitefish, and I took a chance on The Garden Wall Inn, rather than a larger hotel. I am so glad I did. The place was just right, enough family time in the living room by the fire, and plenty of wonderful short walks to and from town. Chris and Rhonda are damn good innkeepers. They called in dinner reservations for us, gave us passes to the gym, accommodated us for breakfast, and even left out for us a continental buffet for our very early flight. I could say more, but, to the point, it's hard to imaging going wrong with this place. Give it a try. -Mark Smith

Yelp
To be sure, Rhonda and Chris are masters at their craft. The result of their efforts is an outstanding bed and breakfast, so I highly recommend this cozy Whitefish inn. The owner and innkeeper are committed to providing their guests with a memorable experience and not just a place to stay, and they could not have done a better job during our 4 night stay. This is a great place for couples and single adults to visit. The daily breakfasts and morning coffee are incredible. The rooms are sufficiently sized, very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. It is within walking distance of downtown Whitefish with its shops and restaurants. All around, this is a great B&B.

Yelp
This was the best bed and breakfast I have ever been to. Chris met us at the door, helped with our bags and had a cheese plate ready for us along with our choice of beverage (wine, beer, etc.). He also had menus of local places and offered some suggestions on where to eat. The room was clean and adorable!! The bathroom was spacious, clean and had the best smelling soap, lotions, etc. The quality of the linens was also top-notch--towels were thick and absorbent and sheets felt great. We received a tray of coffee in the morning about 30 min before breakfast. Breakfast--BEST BREAKFAST EVER!!! Rhonda served one of the best breakfasts I have ever eaten. I could go on and on about how amazing this place this but I will sum it up with this--great place run by great people who care to provide a top-notch b&b experience. If you are looking for a great place to stay in Whitefish, you can't beat the Garden Wall Inn. Oh and make sure you ask about the history of the house it's fascinating!!

Yelp
This B&B is unique and cozy. You will feel comfortable and at home from the minute you walk through the door. Husband and I had comfortable Queen size bed with attached bath that included a claw foot tub. After a day of hiking at nearby Glacier National Park, this was great to come back to. The breakfasts were a wow presentation and so delicious. The local foods incorporated into breakfast and evening snacks added to the experience. Perfect location; walking distance to shops, restaurants and train station, which could be a fun way to arrive. Our visit was so relaxing and would love to travel back and experience Whitefish in the summer.

Brianna S.

Yelp
Definitely recommend this place! If you are looking for an awesome b&b in Whitefish, this is it. Garden Wall Inn is so comfortable and the caretaker is the most hospitable person I have ever met. They have the best breakfast known to man and you even get a wake up call with fresh french presses coffee. My husband and I will definitely be back there next time we are in the Whitefish area!

Yelp
Charming little B&B. I am a resort person, but if you want a cozy and intimate setting, the Garden Wall Inn is perfect. The breakfasts were very tasty- Chris went out of his way to accommodate us. Lovely place to spend the night.

Yelp
My husband and I couldn't recommend this place more highly. We stayed at the Inn for a week, and it helped to make our trip to Glacier National Park one to remember. First, innkeepers Chris and Rhonda are both professionally trained chefs, and the breakfasts that they make every morning were the best meals we had during our trip. Each meal comes with a fruit course made with locally grown fruit and artfully displayed, homemade muffins or scones with local fruit, and an amazing main dish like frittatas, huckleberry crepes, or stuffed french toast. A couple of mornings we had to leave before breakfast for early hikes, and they packed delicious continental breakfasts for us to go along with fresh coffee and OJ. We were spoiled every morning with a tray of french press coffee delivered to our room 30 minutes before breakfast, with a fresh cut rose on the tray. Each evening, the the inn provides happy hour with beer, wine, sherry, veggies and cheese, and each night when we returned from dinner, Chris welcomed us back with a crisp fire and an offer of a nightcap. We also had turndown service each night with locally made chocolates. Chris and Rhonda are super knowledgeable about every aspect of the area, from the park itself to Montana history, politics, and restaurants. Several days we asked about specific hikes that would fit our interests, and they were able to provide recommendations that suited our needs perfectly. The location of the Inn is convenient to the restaurants and shops in Whitefish. Most importantly, Chris and Rhonda are some of the warmest people we have ever met, and staying at the Inn was like staying with old family friends.

Jan H.

Yelp
The Garden Wall Inn definitely deserves 5 stars in all categories. The room was well appointed, with plenty of amenities. Coffee was even brought to our door each morning before breakfast. The breakfasts were eye appealing and quite tasty. Horsd' oeuvres were served nightly and were a real treat after hiking all day. Chris and Rhonda were delightful, helpful, knowledgeable, and went out of their way to make our stay a truly memorable experience. The location is also great for walking to town for dinner.

Ron B.

Yelp
Incredible B&B. I would highly recommend The Garden Wall Inn to anyone visiting Whitefish Mt. Chris and Rhonda made us feel right at home. Everyone is on a first name base which makes it easy to get to know the other guests at the Inn. Both Chris and Rhonda are trained chiefs and the breakfasts were excellent. Everything was fresh and the atmosphere was down home. The wine and cheese plate in the evening by the fireplace was also something we will keep in our minds forever. If you have any questions about Montana, Glacier National Park or other Parks, just ask Chris. He was born and raised in the area and is a wealth of knowledge. We followed his suggestions for winter fun and needless to say had a great three day stay. We will be back.

Wayne M.

Yelp
My wife, brother and his wife And I spent three days In Whitefish in Mid July. Staying at the Garden Wall Inn was a fantastic choice. I echo the other reviews about the wonderful breakfasts served by both Rhonda and Chris, but the best reason to stay is the local knowledge they both have. We had never been to Montana or Glacier, so we told Chris what we were looking for and he had the best suggestions for specific hikes, restaurants, or local attractions. If you want a mix of the outdoors and the comforts of a great B&B, this is a great choice.

Helen V.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at the Inn last week for our anniversary. We stay at B&B's almost exclusively and this one was by far the best. Chris, co-owner and chef, is the ultimate host. He is friendly, funny, and knows everybody in town! He is a wonder - he made all our dinner reservations (a good thing since all the restaurants know him and love him), brought ice to our room every afternoon, brought coffee and tea every morning, and kept a fire in the fireplace every evening. All the guests would come down in their sock feet, sit by the fire, have cocktails and hors d'oeurvres, and talk. We skied at Whitefish while there and LOVED the mountain. Oh, Chris also obtained 25% off lift tickets for us. The Inn locally sources their food and the breakfast each morning was amazing...something you'd see in a magazine. They use Blue Willow patterned china which has a good story that goes with in...as does most everything. Like I said, Chris knows a lot and has a fun way of sharing. My favorite breakfast was the puff pastry stuffed with scrambled eggs and shrimp. Simply delicious! We loved everything about the Inn and our host. We would definitely return. :)

Nicole B.

Yelp
Hard to believe this place doesn't have hundreds of reviews. Chris and Rhonda are some of the kindest people you'll ever meet. They make fantastic breakfasts using primarily local and organic ingredients, have lots of knowledge about the area, and seem genuinely interested in their guests. The bedrooms and common rooms are cozy and charming. Can't recommend Garden Wall enough!
