Google
They have a good variety of vegetables and liquors. Surprisingly so for a small grocery

When we were visiting Yellowstone we needed a supermarket close by. Google maps stated that this business was permsnently closed. Local people said it was open. We went and it is definitely open. It is also an excellent store with a surprisingly wide range of goods available.

Stopped in to grab a few beers. Good prices and a nice store. The staff were friendly and happy to answer my question.

Tina Hawley

Google
Clean, well stocked little market with fresh produce, meats and a surprising variety of beer, wine and liquor to choose from. The prices, as you would expect, are high. I just couldn’t bring myself to pay $7 for a box of cereal.

Google
Service is usually great. The produce is quite possibly the worst I've seen for sale. Moldy strawberries every time I buy any from here. The green onions look sad more often than not too. I've gleaned produce that was in better shape than what this company thinks is appropriate to sell overpriced. Workers are all great, from what I can tell. This review is purely based on the crappy produce I waste my money on when I don't drive to Livingston. I then later regret my decision.

Google
Had a great experience here! Staff were very friendly every time we stopped in. Great selection of items. Convenient location, mildly difficult parking depending on time of day for stopping in.

Google
I think the cashier is tired of tourists. He was very snappy and wasn't friendly at all. The market is the only place in town and it's a tourist area, I don't know what he wanted. Prices are very high but then again it's the only market for tourists so we are trapped. They have hot meals that run about 10.99 to 19.99. The place has almost everything that you need. Lots of selection for beer and wine. Our experience would be better if the cashier was nicer.

Google
An oasis in the town of Gardiner that most tourists can walk to from the hotels and air b&b’s. They have a little of everything and prices are reasonable. VictorB

Yelp
Cool little mountain town grocery store. They have some fresh produce, but do not expect a large selection! Things are on the pricier side because they can (not a lot of options around town and also they are in the middle of nowhere really). The people working there were kind!

Stacey B.

Yelp
This is a small local market, not a big chain grocery store. But it has everything you need. We were hunkered down in a hotel nearby with either food poisoning or a stomach bug, and we came here for supplies. We got saltines, pretzels, gatorade, jello cups, noodle soup in a cup, etc. I had no trouble finding what I needed, and more. Staff were friendly, and the store was easy to navigate. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
I have nothing but great things to say about the Gardner market. I was hesitant to go there because everyone said it was so expensive but I found the experience delightful. I wish I had gone there earlier in my stay just for the ambience lol. There are many things to question about Gardner Montana ;)However, the Gardner market was not one of them. Everybody in there was so polite and friendly. I couldn't believe it. Every time I asked for something everybody was incredibly helpful and there were some really nice ladies that were just totally friendly. The store is stocked to the brim. It has everything, at my hotel they were saying oh you won't find sunscreen or cream there but you know what they had every possible sunscreen and cream available!!! I was able to go there toward my last day and get things that I really needed like water and some sleeping pills since I was in a hotel that was very noisy! I would highly recommend the Gardner market to anyone and just remember when you're on a vacation things are more expensive because people are trying to make money in a small town so don't hold that against them. I love that market and if I lived in Gardner, I would shop there no matter what.

Yelp
Great local family owned grocer in Gardiner. Came and stayed in Gardiner on our National Parks trip this past summer and this was a great little market. We stayed at an AirBnB on the river and that afforded us the ability to make our own food (because as any National park explorer knows- the food is edible.. just edible. This place was great. It had all the necessities of a market with a small town feel that was great. If we ever find ourselves back here, we will definitely visit again!

Polly P.

Yelp
Love this place! Cute little store with a wide variety. It has a nice selection for the locals, but it also considers the needs of us who are just visiting for a few days. The produce was fresh and had half melons for us short timers. The were decent sales on a few things, as well. There were hot bar items during select times and a small selection of baked goods. The bread choices were wonderful. I purchased a focaccia that was out of this world, and a discounted whole wheat raisin bread that toasted up nicely. I like a store that will discount items that are close to the pull date, and this store did just that. A small piece of flatiron steak (enough for tacos for two) was discounted to $2.80, and a block of cheese found its way into my cart. A very nice selection of beer, wine and spirits. Great, pleasant people at the register and behind the bakery counter. Okay, so prices are a little high. Expect that in a small store that caters to a vacation crowd. Not bad, though, certainly better to shop here and cook your own than to spend tons of money for a bad meal in a local restaurant!

Jeff R.

Yelp
Excellent Market. Has anything a regular grocery store has on twice as expensive. So if you plan on shopping there for your necessities, stop by Walmart in Livingston first to save a bit of money.

TJ L.

Yelp
Great clean and organized supermarket with very friendly nice cashiers. After a long day at Yellowstone national park, we came here to stock up on lunch supplies and try their hot deli meals. We tried one chicken meal for 10.99. We also tried a half rack of bbq baby back ribs. Both were surprisingly tasty. We even returned the next day to buy some sale items while hoping to get another rack of bbq ribs. They sold out of the half rack. However we were able to purchase the smaller 10.99 meal that came with baked beans and mac&cheese. When you want to skip the long restaurant waits, I'd definitely recommend shopping here for last minute hot meals as well as general groceries!

Cole A.

Yelp
Nice place to shop and get the necessities. Cashier seemed like she was having a bad day.

Margaret P.

Yelp
This market offered a lot more than I was expecting, considering this was such a small town market. They've got a lot of options available for purchase, even for those with dietary restrictions. They've also got a pretty nice collection of local brews to purchase if you're planning on drinking post hikes from YNPS. The market itself is clean and has ample supplies to help you find what you need. I was bummed that we couldn't find bison or elk meat here though. Gardiner doesn't have much market options, so if you plan on staying in the town and need a market, this will probably be your best bet.

Luis D.

Yelp
This market Has a lot to choose from. We visited from GA and we usually go to our local farmers market back home which it has all kinds of things from all over the world. Whenever we enter the Gardiner Market we didn't expect it to have all the things that we were looking for but I was wrong. It's amazing to travel to this beautiful small town and to be able to find a market that has fresh veggies and food and all kinds of things. They have such a great costumer service and the ambient in the market is very nice. We are looking forward to visiting this market again in the future.

Kell N.

Yelp
Very clean and nice market with a great selection considering. We're vegan and they carry plenty of options and alternative items so we were super pleased to find this so close to our accommodations for Yellowstone. They have nut and oat milks, Gardein products, Morningstar products, etc. Lots of beverages, snacks, and the produce was great as well (May 2022). Prices were not bad at all. We stopped here every night on our trip and an extra time (so five visits) and everyone was pleasant and helpful each time. Would recommend for whatever you may need while staying in Gardiner.

George S.

Yelp
This is a great market, fully stocked with a great variety. We found buying ready prepared foods great for breakfast and lunch. With limited services at Mammoth Springs Hotels, it's a quick trip to the market to get most items you need. Staff is very friendly and helpful in getting supplies for your trip. Worth the trip! Good pricing!

Brandon M.

Yelp
This is a very well stocked, clean grocery/supplies store. Yes, some prices are high but most are reasonable considering that they are the only game in town. They have everything from camping supplies to kitchen necessities and everything in between. Lot parking. Walking distance from most lodging in town. Masks and social distancing being practiced. Well marked isles and helpful staff if you can't find an item. I would return.

Lisa A.

Yelp
Gardiner Market was across the street from the Super 8 Motel we stayed at. There was a few cool things about this market. They sell huckleberry flavored chocolate, along with lots of Montana souvenirs and craft beer from the area. They carry a wide selection of ice cream from the Montana dairy, Wilcoxson's. Try this ice cream if you're ever in Montana. It's really tasty! I recommend the huckleberry ice cream sandwich. The staff was pretty friendly for the most part. I have to say this supermarket is overpriced. I saw some ice cream for $10. Come on! It wasn't even Haagen Dazs or some other name brand like that. I'm sure it's because there probably isn't another larger supermarket for 50 or so miles. I'm sure there's some in Livingston or further away in Bozeman. There are some small markets inside of Yellowstone Park. I actually think a couple were less expensive than Gardiner Market. There's a gas station down the street that I preferred over this market. The gas station had street corn flavored Cheetos! I haven't been able to find them in Texas so right away I was impressed. The gas station also carries Wilcoxson's ice cream. It's at a lot of places in Montana. A lot of the food from the market seemed old and not fresh. For example, the hot food in the deli like chicken wings. Some of the fruit also didn't look good, either. A couple of the fruit containers I picked up were sticky. My bf bought Hot Pockets. He said they tasted old. I got a salad from here and it was nothing special. I don't really have anything else to say. I think they should do a better job with the deli and fruit. There should be fresher food, especially for what they charge.

Brandon M.

Yelp
This market was a pleasure to stop at. The staff was very helpful and had great attitudes. I recommend this market for your Yellowstone grocery needs.

Courtenay O.

Yelp
Since this is the only supermarket in town, it's nice to know that friendly, knowledgeable people work here and are at the cash register. The prices are reasonable, considering the isolated location. If you want name brand items, and you don't want to pay premium prices, get them in Bozeman or Livingston before driving into Gardiner. You'll save money, but I don't recommend it. Supporting this local store, and the convenience of getting everything at once is gratifying & time saving. They have a wide variety of beer and liquor, including local brands. Local brands of other items are also available. Produce is fresh, and so are the bakery items which are available in the deli in the back of the store. We found everything we needed, and then some. We were able to prepare meals at our VRBO five out of the 7 days we were in town because of the variety & freshness of food and drink! We were happy to shop here.

N S.

Yelp
This is a nice grocery. Had some small farm products. Easy to get to. Friendly staff.

Tom B.

Yelp
It doesn't look very big from the outside but the lay out is great and they have everything you need at reasonable prices plus I think there the only market in town. 5 stars because they have the best baked deli chicken I've ever tasted. I haven't figured out what it's basted in but it's excellent.

Teresa M.

Yelp
What a great find during our off-season stay! We enjoyed meeting the locals and supporting a local business. Since many of the restaurants were closed for the season, it was a relief to be able to pack in lunch for each day in the park. Not to mention, a huge savings and healthier options. There was a pretty good selection and prices were reasonable. Most importantly, staff were friendly and welcoming. We'll be back!

Justin O.

Yelp
Quick stop in and got my items. The lay out was Alittle different than what I am use to. Would have liked a little bit more of a deli selection. Other than that it was a good place staff was helpful. Really clean.

Ryan K.

Yelp
This review is based on relative compares to other supermarkets near Yellowstone. Choices were significantly better than the Food Roundup in West Yellowstone. Also, prices were also noticeably lower than the Food Roundup. Hot deli section was decent, and we even tried the bison steaks (freezer section) which was better than expected. This store also had a decent selection of non-food items (chap stick, tape, etc). Pleasantly surprised after our experience in West Yellowstone.

Tony M.

Yelp
A well-stocked grocery store just outside Yellowstone. We couldn't make it to any restaurants because there's not many in Gardiner and they were all full - or there were too many people not wearing masks. The Gardiner Market has a great selection of food, beer, wine, etc. kind of like a mini-Whole Foods. Prices were not cheap but never the less reasonable. The staff was uniformly great.

Connie C.

Yelp
Great, well-stocked grocery in a desolate location. Prices are high but to be expected when you are in the middle of nowhere. Pretty decent bakery with warm croissants in the morning. We stayed at the Yellowstone Gateway Inn which was directly across the street so easy to walk to.

Diane B.

Yelp
This is the only place to get breakfast in this town!!! Best of everything at the Bakery! We went to Yellowstone Perk this morning and get this... breakfast sandwich 2 slices of white bread, processed cheese scrambled egg and sausage for $11.99. Coffee $4. The few other places in town for breakfast were closed and had lines coming out the door. The Elk is great to view... but after that pass in through!!

Bakchun K.

Yelp
This appears to be the only market in the area with a diverse selection. They have a little of everything. It is similar to a supermarket, just not as big. They even have local ice cream in the freezer, yay. If you are staying nearby, it is a great stop to pick up snacks, water, bear spray, and other items before you make your way into Yellowstone Park. It is very close to the North Entrance of Yellowstone Park.

Bradley M.

Yelp
Good market to get supplies before entering the park. They had everything we were looking for. Prices were a little high but not exorbitant.

Brad B.

Yelp
So far this store has done it's job. I've been in a couple of times and they've had what I needed in stock. A very nice setup for such a small community and very clean and well organized. Very friendly staff as well. I've seen a few people complain about the high prices and I have to disagree and say that most things I noticed in the store were fairly priced!! Well done Gardiner Market, I support you and will recommend your business!!

Joy S.

Yelp
Being the only market in town, this place certainly holds a monopoly position. Truth being said: if there would be another supermarket I probably wouldn't shop here but, like I said: they do hold. Monopoly position. Their fresh produce is overpriced and poor quality. All the other stuff is just regular grocery products, all the same quality just less choice.

Magicmanspeedy ..

Yelp
Wow. What a dump. The owners are horrible and completely inappropriate. Scott only wants to hire Hooters girls for cashiers. Watch out for moldy, overpriced food. Rebecca was snotty when I asked for cake flour. She tried to say that there is no difference. I try and order what I can online or drive 2 hrs to avoid this place. Watch out for outdated items!!

Tyler D.

Yelp
Discriminatory. Refuse to sell adult beverages to me despite I am over 21 and provided ID. Clerk smirked and demanded to see everyone in my groups ID, which is none of their business. This on top of their outrageous prices.

Katherine J.

Yelp
Love this market!! They have everything you could need while visiting Yellowstone Park!!

Carol P.

Yelp
The market is airy, clean, and well stocked. The clerks were cheerful and I moved through at a nice brisk pace. I don't think city people really realize what a triumph all that is. I know I wouldn't have, until I retired from Seattle to the Oregon coast and lost ALL my favorite grocery shopping options, and most halfway decent options, as a result. The Gardiner Market may benefit from the fact that Yellowstone is so besieged by tourists because the hordes no doubt move stuff off their shelves faster than the locals ever could, but I'm living in a beach town right on the Pacific that is swamped by tourists all summer and we don't have anything as good as this. (Note: we have a vile Safeway, two IGAs that are alright, and one sweet, tiny natural foods place.) So, yeah. This is a really good store on its own merits and amazing considering the size of the town and its remoteness.

Meg W.

Yelp
This place is the perfect local market! We loved having it available during our Yellowstone trip. There's plenty of fresh produce, an in-house bakery and a well-stocked deli. We bought provisions for our post-hike picnic here that included fresh baked rolls and lunch meat sliced at the counter. They have many items here that could make good tourist buys as well- including an entire section of local spirits. On our way out of town we snagged some breakfast sandwiches here- fresh, cheap, delicious. I absolutely recommend this market if you are in the area.

Chris C.

Yelp
This place is great. Good selection of groceries, essential household goods, a decent selection of beer, wine and liquor at reasonable prices. Friendly service. This place is a gem in Gardiner.

John L.

Yelp
Always has what you need and prices won't gouge you like some tourist town stores will.

Tom T.

Yelp
Employees are rude. Head north to Emigrant, everyone there is super nice. Livingston is a ways but the Albertsons there has plenty of options and the people seem to care.

Tom C.

Yelp
Super surprised to find such a high quality market way out here. They label their meats to highlight where it's from. They even have Alaskan salmon in their meat/seafood section and hipster all-natural candy from the UK.

Brian B.

Yelp
They have lots and lots of stuff. The prices are a bit high - but then so is everything in the town. Typical for small, isolated towns (no close distru=ibution centers.) The people were friendly. They need more parking spaces.

Chin S.

Yelp
What a wonderful place stocked with everything that one may possibly need on a trip! We were visiting Yellowstone National Park and got a warning light on our Honda Accord informing us that the keyfob battery was running low. I was apprehensive, wondering where I might be able to find a replacement battery (the vehicle won't start if the keyfob battery becomes too low and YNP is not the place to get stranded). in the early morning in a small town. This store carries the battery we need! The staff members were all friendly and helpful. We also shopped here for some groceries. Of course, one cannot compare this place with other large chain super market stores in large cities. It, however, serves the community and the visitors well. Thumb up especially for the very friendly staff (everyone of them). Thank you.

sean c.

Yelp
Great places to pick up some steaks and veggies. Quality products and local items are fairly priced, unlike other markets near National Parks. Definitely stop before going into Yellowstone.

Sam H.

Yelp
A nice surprise for avery small town marketplace. Just about any practical thing you need, they have it. Good pricing too. Great service as well.

Joshua S.

Yelp
I enjoyed my quick trip to the Gardiner Market. I ran out of some essentials while staying in Yellowstone, and while West Yellowstone was closer, I decided to head to Gardiner because I had better cell reception in Gardiner and needed to use my phone. I'm glad I did, as this store was well-appointed for the size of the town. They had most essentials and then some additional non-essentials, including a small liquor store. The prices were reasonable at this independent grocer. The staff was friendly. No complaints.

B F.

Yelp
This is the best small-town grocery store! They had everything on my shopping list, from almond flour to frozen okra. Love their free range eggs & wide selection of fresh produce! Are the prices higher than a chain store? Of course, but it sure beats driving 50 miles to Livingston, MT. Keep up the good work!

Lulu Y.

Yelp
Great little supermarket with the basics and then some - a variety of whole-grain breads (including organic), some organic produce, natural peanut butter (just peanuts and salt, in small and jumbo (32 oz) jars--we bought the jumbo crunchy, $8.99). Prices were reasonable for a tourist spot with few grocery options.

SUSAN M.

Yelp
Great local market! Excellent place to stock up before heading into Yellowstone National Park. Good selection of wine and local spirits. Nice place to get bread, cheese, meat, chips, etc for a picnic lunch. Prices were fair and cashiers friendly.

Iris G.

Yelp
I love this market. When you want sandwich fixings or fresh fruit, and are in the small town of Gardiner, MT, this is the only market in the area. We always run out of something we need, and this is outlet go to place.

Charishma G.

Yelp
This place definitely deserves more reviews. We stayed in Gardiner during our trip to Yellowstone national park. This market is quite a surprise to me. Gardiner being a small town, I thought,it to be any grocery store that will have bare minimum essential to survive. But, there is not a single grocery item that you can't find here. Pretty much you can just walk into the town without anything and this place will help you survive. Most of our friends being vegetarians, we couldn't find many vegetarian restaurants in Gardiner. This market saved us. We got fresh vegetables and some cooking items to cook our own food.Freshly baked items, fruits, vegetables and quick-eats etc, many things. Just relax if you on a trip to Yellowstone and if you forget something. They have sun hats/caps too. I couldn't believe that there are Indian curry packets available in the store. Everything is reasonably priced and quality is good. Staff is helpful too. Overall, good experience.
