We stayed for one night during a walking tour. The room was so spacious and clean, the breakfast was lovely (the had gluten free bread for me!) and the hosts were extremely welcoming.

Great food, amazing, homely service. Third year going and have no inclination to try anywhere else!

This family-run establishment is top notch. The room was quite large and well furnished with a nice patio. We had an extremely good dinner that was well worth the price. It was my husband's birthday and the host made sure to toast the event. Breakfast was equally good. While the parents do not speak a lot of English, the son's English was quite good and the whole family went out of their way to be helpful. We only spent one night as we drove from Venice to Como, but wanted a few hours in the Alps. What a great choice. The area is lovely and we had time for a couple of nice hikes on the well maintained trails overlooking the valley.

We stayed 4 nights in this lovely home above Badia. It is run by the lady of the house who, although her English is limited, does so much to make you feel welcome. The room was great and our little patio had a stunning view across the valley. Dinners there are not to be missed! Again, the lady of the house does the cooking and shecooks from her heart!! It is a set menu that is not written down that we know of but 4 great courses with a nice mix of Austrian/German with Italian. They also have a nice selection of wine that is not included in the set menu.||Be prepared for a steep climb up the hill if on foot and of course stairs to your room. GPS was very helpful in locating.||||

Unfortunately TA doesn't have a separate listing for the restaurant, but our experience was so exceptional that I have to post it here anyway.||||It started with the amazing fact that the restaurant (if not the Garni) was still closed for the season (early June), yet they agreed to take our reservation to partake of their special, fixed price Ladin meal experience. So, yes, we were the ONLY people in the entire dining room (other than the servers). ||||I could write many, many paragraphs on this wonderful meal, but I'll keep it short. The service was incredibly friendly, the food was superb, and the price very reasonable (EUR 26 per person, plus drinks). It was a six course meal (!), including several appetizers, soup, the main entree, and dessert. Each and every course was so obviously hand- and home- made, and so very special. It was like a friend inviting you over for (a very big) dinner. There's no choices to be made, so if you don't eat or like meat, the fixed dinner isn't for you (the main entree was two large, different cuts of pork). Otherwise, this is HIGHLY recommended. It's a little tough to find, but well worth the effort. (Cash only, like most other restaurants in the area.)

My husband and I have just spent 3 nights at Ciasia Urban. I cannot rate it any higher , from the moment we stepped in our experience was amazing. The family are so friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent, home cooked meals , really tasty and only 20 euro f I r 4 courses, we went 2 nights. The appartment had amazing views over the Dolomites and was very well appointed. We had been away for over 6 weeks and had limited laundry facilities and the family offered to do our washing , which was great. I would highly recommend this lovely hotel and hope to return at some stage. Thank you to the family for making our stay so enjoyable

Lots of parking, friendly family staff, thanks to Martin and Tekla? (spelling). Check in was a breeze, not that hard to find if you plan ahead and use google streetview getting there. The rooms were modern, mostly made of wood, clean, newly renovated, warm and cozy. They made us feel so welcome. ||||Gorgeous views from the dining area. Breakfast was standard european, but the view just made everything so delicious. I had dinner there which consisted of the best pasta dish (cooked to perfection in olive oil and garlic) as a first course. Deer steak (medium done) with veggies, as a second and sweet dessert. Everything was home cooked and locally produced. ||||I think the hotel location is central to the hiking areas around the Alta Badia region and not too far from Cortina. We were there from May 6-8. It was a very quiet time of the year. No traffic nor bus loads of tourists. I felt like we were the only tourists in the area. From the hotel, we crossed the main road to the other side and hiked up to Santa Croce. Easily an easy 6 hour hike. There were cable cars but they were all closed at that time. ||||We would go back again, no question.

Loved this place! Very friendly owner despite the fact they do not speak and English. This was not a problem. I booked by emailing with the help of google translate. Rooms clean and spacious. Ask for a Mountain View! So worth it. Delicious buffet breakfast. Lots of hiking trails nearby. FYI this hotel is about 15 min from the main part of town which may be a pro or con for you. We liked it!
