Garni Hotel Virgo

The Garni Hotel Virgo is a nice spot located about a 10 minute walk from old-town Bratislava. They have convenient parking spaces available for a nightly fee. The reception staff was helpful in noting the main attractions to visit and as it was New Years Eve, she also gave us restaurant suggestions and told us about the events going on in town. We had a room on the second/last floor of the building. It was cozy, though the slanted ceiling on the right side may make it a bit uncomfortable for some to have to bend over for passing to and from that bedside. There was a fridge, kettle, coffee, and tea available for us (which they refilled for us for the second morning), and a heating/AC wall unit. The bathroom was fine and the shower is quite spacious, but there is no light in the shower and there was some mold in the corners. It would be nice to have a light to see better in the shower. In general, the street of the hotel is very quiet and walkable. However, the sound insulation is not the best between the rooms as we could hear our neighbors talking, and you can also hear people walking in the corridor and entering their rooms. Overall: the hotel has a great location, is in a quiet area, and has decent amenities. We had a nice stay and would be pleased to come back to the hotel in the future.

A great hotel in between the main train station (hlavna stanica) and old town (stare mesto). Breakfast was fabulous. The room was comfortable and clean, the water was hot and the staff were very kind. What more can you ask for?

Hotel is just outside (a few minutes walk from) the pedestrian only Old Town, on a quiet back street. |Room was large, clean and comfortable. |The hotel has two buildings on opposite sides of the street. I was in the older building. Room had external access via a covered veranda, which is private to the rooms it accesses, with an outside table and chairs for each room. |All of the staff spoke good English and were polite and helpful. |Excellent value.

This is a self-contained property about 100m down the road from the apart-hotel Garni where the reception is situated. There are 8 rooms with a breakfast area on the ground floor. My room was a good sized twin room on the first floor (no lift). It was kept clean and tidy on a daily basis with good free wi-fi. Apart from a wardrobe there was no storage space though. There was a mini-fridge but no safe. My only criticism about the room was the bathroom arrangement. There was a huge bath and a hand held shower head. However there was no shower screen/curtain and no grab-handles. I would imagine that a person with restricted mobility/flexibility would have great difficulty using it.|The buffet breakfast was varied and plentiful and the quality was good and mention has to be made of the lady running it who was friendly and welcoming.

Rooms clean with daily housekeeping, tea/instant coffee provided along with a kettle. Five minute walk to the old city, though this involves two large staircases. No elevator at the property. Check-in area located in another hotel a short distance away which was communicated beforehand and not an issue. No shower curtain in the bathroom which was odd, though probably inconvenienced housekeeping more than me. Queen beds are just two twin beds pushed together, mattresses beyond firm, better described as near-collapsed. Better beds and it would be five stars for the price.

We really loved our stay here. Breakfast was outstanding and they really looked after my dietary needs (gluten free and vegetarian). Delicious coffee! We liked our room on the second floor with a little balcony and table from which to enjoy the evening sun and appreciate the beautiful garden. The staff were excellent: kind and friendly, especially the staff at breakfast. Wow - so lovely. Thank you ☺️ Good strong shower in the bathroom and the rooms were spacious and clean. Fantastic location! Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Excelent place for a family of 3, more than enough for a couple. Nice and clean apartment with all amenities. Walking distance to old town. Recommend it.

Perfect location! Only a few minutes walking to the old town. Rooms are really clean and spacious. We got a room not only with a shower, but with a bath! Secure parking is paid (19 euros for one day) and should be booked in advance.
