"Bet it All on Boxing Day in Barbados One of the best days for horse racing in the islands is Boxing Day, or as it’s known in the States, “The Day After Christmas.” This past Boxing Day, I was lucky enough to be in Barbados, so I made a point to pay a visit to the Barbados Turf Club at the historic Garrison Savannah. Located just east of Bridgetown, this storied patch of land has been hosting horse races since 1845! To put things in perspective, Churchill Downs didn’t open its doors until thirty years later in 1875! So what can you expect from a day at the races in Barbados? Sun, rum, horses, pudding and souse eating, betting, cheering, thrills, and more! Not going to be in Barbados for Boxing Day? Don't worry. There are approximately 25 race meetings throughout the year running from January to April (Spring Season); May to September (Summer Season) and from November to December (Winter Season). So you’d be hard pressed to visit the island when there is no racing going on at all."

Nice race course. 25BD for the Grand Stand. Bar staff a bit creative with the pricing and rum punch glass sizes. Towards the end the toilets were somewhat due a clean and toilet roll replenish. Staff were friendly, the racing was good.

Lovely afternoon spent at a most historic sight. Had VIP tickets but it's really nice to go casual, drinks well priced. Atmosphere fantastic, went on guineas day. And it helps if you win!

We went to the Boxing Day meet, and what a great afternoon we had! Fantastic atmosphere, and the Bajans really know how to celebrate a public holiday. We paid to go in, but you can watch from the outside, and there's loads of food stalls and drinks available. Definitely go if you get the chance.

Brilliant family day at the races. Great atmosphere and good selection of cheap food and drink. Recommended for a day out in Barbados.

Stopped in on race day to catch a few races and decided it was nicer to watch outside the track in the breeze than in the stands and pay to sit. Lovely afternoon, plenty of places to make bets around the track and vendors selling drinks and food. A nice afternoon when in Barbados.

Nice atmosphere with the street food & drinks around & you can watch the racing for free if you don't want to go into the main grandstand. Makes it affordable to everyone, great idea unlike in the UK.

This is a historic area and a place for horse racing in Barbados. I enjoyed horse racing here and got to see family and friends after about five years not visiting my native country.
