Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui

We had a great time at Garrya Tongsai Bay after New Year’s. We stayed a couple of nights in a pool room up on the hill. The views were fantastic, and the walk down to the beach and up to reception was totally doable. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were super attentive. Special shoutout to the lady preparing the fresh juices, she was an absolute charm and made our mornings. The gym feels a bit dated and could use an upgrade. The room also felt slightly dated in places, but it was spacious overall, and the private pool was 100% worth it. We joined the Tuesday night beach BBQ and probably wouldn’t recommend it. There’s a lot of food, but in our opinion there are better options if you go outside the property. That said, management was present and attentive throughout. Overall, a really lovely stay and we could have easily stayed a few more days.

We had the most amazing honeymoon at Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui. The whole experience exceeded our expectations. Our pool villa was stunning, the grounds and pools were beautiful, and the buffet breakfast was the best we’ve ever had. The staff were exceptional and added so many thoughtful touches — welcome drinks, a honeymoon display on the bed, homemade Thai treats delivered daily, special surprises at breakfast, and even a lovely farewell gift featuring the hotel’s signature scent. We also highly recommend the hotel’s BBQ buffet night and Thai buffet night, both were fantastic. This is truly a must‑visit hotel if you're planning a trip to Koh Samui. We cannot recommend it highly enough!

My Wife and I recently stayed for 5 nights over Christmas at Garrya Tongsai Bay, Samui, in the Seaview Pool Villa, which I must say was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived until our final day, every detail exceeded our expectations in every possible way. The accommodations were stunning, private, peaceful, and with breathtaking ocean views that never got old. The villa was immaculate inside and out. The service and staff deserve the highest praise. Every single team member was warm, genuine, attentive, incredibly kind and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was flawless. The food was outstanding. From the daily breakfasts to the Christmas Eve beach dinner. Garrya Tongsai Bay offers a perfect balance of luxury, tranquility, and heartfelt hospitality. We would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for an unforgettable stay in Koh Samui and would gladly return without hesitation.

We enjoyed our family holiday over Christmas 2025. It is a very interesting place. It is not the most modern of resorts (it was built nearly 40 years ago, although it was renovated recently) and this gives it an exquisite charm. As many other reviewers have noted it is in a stunning, very large (just walking around is about 3 km) and private location (yet only 15 min from the airport). The resort has only about 80 rooms/villas (very spacious with large terraces) and the main attraction for us was the low key and quiet surroundings – the resort has its own beach and beautiful gardens. Had it been developed in the last 15-20 years, they would probably have constructed at least double the number of rooms, another 2-3 restaurants and bars and generally overbuilt the site. The low key also had the advantage that even at peak times we did not have a problem finding a beach bed/umbrella or a table for breakfast/dinner (although we only had dinner in twice since we like to explore). We were able to play tennis and use paddle boards (all free) at will and those few times we asked for buggies they arrived within 2-3 minutes. The staff were generally amazing – friendly, attentive, helpful, and there was always a personal touch by remembering our names. The personal touch is exemplified by the hotel manager personally taking your breakfast order at the counter and then finding you at your table! On the last day we were unable to use the beach because of heavy rain and they gave us use of a day room until we left for the airport! In summary: recommended if you want a personal charming resort to relax and unwind and we would definitively return.

Very nice hotel and enjoyed the location. Views from the top are amazing and the temperature was perfect. I like that the pool was right in front of the beach and we had a nice suite. Clean and tide rooms. Food was good, not great. Service was good but a bit off at some points, won't get into it. We walked up to the main restaurant each day but they did have a mini shuttle service in gold carts, which was cool.

Where do I begin?! This was our 13th hotel of our month-long south east Asia trip and it has been by far the best hotel of our trip so far. This is the kind of place you can truly relax and unwind. The kind of place we never wanted to leave. We’ve never experienced such personal service in any hotel we have stayed at. The hotel constantly goes above and beyond with personal touches for every guest. From the second we arrived the staff treated us like we were being welcomed home. Every morning at breakfast, the wonderful team would greet us by name, remembering our coffee order from the previous day. In the afternoons, the pool bar team would ask how our day had been and it’s these little interactions that just went such a long way. The hotel is in its own private bay, with the bluest sea, sandy beach and plenty of sun beds. There’s so much nature everywhere you look, beautiful trees and plants and you can hear the wildlife all around. Our room felt like a dream come true, so private, so clean and a place we just loved waking up in every morning. Two tiny and very easily fixable areas for improvement (which goes to show how amazing the hotel was), some towel hooks in the bathroom would be great and better shower gel / shampoo dispensers in the shower. Aside from that, everything was totally flawless. Thank you so much to all the wonderful team at Garrya Tongsai. This was a part of our honeymoon we will never forget. Anyone looking for a luxurious, tranquil & relaxing slice of paradise, this hotel is it.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and this place surpassed any and all expectations we had! The service from every single employee here was amazing and all of their generosity, kindness, hospitality and care is something we both will never forget. They accommodated for my husband’s birthday, and also took extra care for my pregnancy. The entire place is beautiful, the photos do not do it justice at all. They made our stay unforgettable. From the second we got there, to the second we left. We couldn’t recommend it enough. We will be coming here as soon as possible, and we’ll be coming with our baby on the way 🥰🙏🏼

Tranquil setting, beautiful resort. Away from the hustle and bustle. Great views and immersed in nature. You must want this type of vacation and enjoy the peace and tranquility. We felt it was a bit far out from Chaweng (vibey spots) which meant us paying a lot for transport. We were a big group so we made it enjoyable. The beach unfortunately due to the weather was not swimmable. That was a bit of a downer. The breakfasts were delicious and extensive and they had Indian options too which was great! Service was good however there were a few minor issues that one would not expect from a 5 star resort. Overall would recommend however for a 3 or 5 night stay. We stayed for 7 nights and felt that was too long.
