Garth Cottage

Would highly recommend staying at Garth Cottage. My parents and my wife and I have just stayed there for a weekend and loved it. Mark and Val are amazing hosts, rooms are spotless, breakfast is fantastic and you can’t beat waking up to that view of the river each morning. Definitely staying again!!!

Garth Cottage B&B is an absolute gem! My son and I stayed for one night, whilst on a canoe trip, in a twin room (ensuite with tea/coffee) overlooking the river. The location is beautiful. The hosts are more special and we were royally looked after by Val and Mark - tea and cake when we arrived and an impressive breakfast menu the following morning. Can recommend. Thank you.

3 night stay double aspect room last week. View beautiful along river. Hosts Mark and Val couldn't do enough for us. Bara Brith and tea on arrival most welcome. Room spotless food excellent. Best quality breakfast had in a very long time. Mark cooked a lamb shank/veg for us mid week. It was excellent..wish we had eaten in all week ! Enjoyed exploring area/plenty to do. We will be back! Took my wife and her best friend to Garth cottage for a couple of nights, and just got back, we have been quite a few times now, and never been disappointed., There is nothing better than sitting on the front patio, people watching in the evening. Marks cooking is superb, (both for breakfast and if you decide to have an evening meal), and Mark and mum Val are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble, even though my wife's friend is a coeliac, they made sure they had the right stuff in for her. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, with great views across and down the river. If you want run of the mill hotels then go for the bigger hotels in the area, if you want to feel special then go visit Mark and Val.

Our second visit to Garth Cottage, and once again Val and Mark were perfect hosts, greeted with tasty cake and tea on arrival. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit here, it's a beautiful spot made all the better by such genial and knowledgeable hosts. We'll definitely be returning. Thank you to you both. Mark and Val are a couple of diamonds. They are two of life's great characters and looked after myself and my partner superbly over our weekend break. Nothing was too much trouble. Mark cooked us a bespoke dinner on one of our nights that was delicious. The cottage is ideally located and has wonderful views of the river from all bedrooms. We also wanted to kayak the river, and the cottage is a 2 minute walk from Wyedean canoe center so again ideally located if that's your thing. Would not hesitate to recommend Garth cottage to anyone looking to explore the Wye Valley.

Mark and Val welcomed us like family with delicious cake and tea. Our room was clean, bright with the most beautiful views. Val was so lovely drying our son's kit overnight and Mark set us up for the day with the most delicious breakfast. We will definitely be coming back to stay when we next visit the area. My mother and I stayed at Garth Cottage, Symonds Yat, for two nights. A very big thank you to Mark and Val for their wonderful hospitality and allowing us stay in their cottage. ||||Upon arrival, we were greeted with welcoming cup of tea and cake. Our room was very comfortable (Room 5) and overlooked the scenic River Wye view, which was beautiful. On our second night, Mark, very kindly, cooked us the most delicious risotto which was thoroughly enjoyed. The breakfast served on both mornings was superb and freshly cooked. ||||We will be back!
