Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park is visually stunning. The statue is massive and awe inspiring, the grounds are beautifully maintained, and the cultural performances add a sense of meaning and history to the visit. Seeing the monument up close is worth it for the scale alone.
That said, it definitely leans into being a tourist trap. There are upsells at almost every turn, from photo spots to paid shuttle upgrades, and plenty of shops selling overpriced merchandise. You can still enjoy the park, just be prepared for the commercial side of the experience.
Overall, the views and the statue are unforgettable, but go in knowing you are paying for both the cultural moment and the tourist machine wrapped around it
