My husband John and I just returned from a 2 night stay here. It was amazing value at 99 per room per night. From the moment we rang to book to check in, to drinks in the bar, there was a lovely friendly atmosphere. Our room on the third floor overlooking the square was cosy, clean and atmospheric. All of the staff from the receptionists to Christina in the bar were extremely friendly and helpful. The bar itself was a lovely olde world bar with amazing stained glass doors. We loved our freshly cooked breakfast every morning. This is an exceptionally nice small and friendly hotel and we will definitely return.

We had a tasty supper, seafood chowder and hearty bread washed down with Guinness aaa we waited for train back to Dublin. Very good. Nice ambiance, good service and clean restrooms. They had a pretty diverse menu if you want more.

Had a great dinner and drink here on a busy Saturday night. The food menu is only open until 9, so make sure to get in a little early. The prices are good for Galway, and the burger was fantastic. The service, while very friendly, was quite slow, but that was probably just my conception as an American from a fast paced city. Cheers!

We came in after a long day walking around Galway, and fell in love with this place. Can be a bit pricey but the food is fresh and worth it. Nice place to chill after visiting and walking around all day. Their seafood chowder is really good and served hot. Decent portions of food and very nice staff

Didn't stay overnight just had a few drinks which were €4cheaper than the previous pub we were in earlier. Good service great location, I believe it is now called "13 on the green"

Perfect location. Great bar. Pretty decent food. Staff at the bar were nothing but the best people ever. Would only look at this palace to stay next time in Galway. I think you guys still have my unicorn stuffed toy. I'll expect it back 🤣

First and foremost it's no longer Garvey's Inn. The new name is Thirteen on the Green. The staff are extremely friendly and the rooms were very well kept. Not 100% but I only stayed the night with my wife. Would I go back there yes. The breakfast was reasonably priced and delicious. The room we had was small but for staying the night it's perfect. The fact we got the room last minute at the price we go it I definitely say stay there.

Can only review Restaurant, 13 on the Green. Two of us went here for dinner last night and I can honestly say it was one of the worst meals I have ever been served in Ireland or anywhere else in the world. We ordered Garlic Bread and Salmon and Prawns to start with. The Garlic bread was so stale and hard it was completely inedible, the prawns were watery. We then had Bangers and Mash and 'Chicken Cordon Bleu for main course. The Sausages had obviously been cooked from frozen as they were so over cooked on the outside that they were almost black and impossible to cut through and uncooked and pink in the middle. My 'Cordon bleu'was a supreme of Chicken with a slice of ham and cheese thrown underneath it. I don't know where the Chef did his training but that's certainly nothing like a fillet of chicken stuffed with melted cheese, bechamel and ham, crumbed and fried which is what a Cordon bleu is supposedto be.. The server muttered an apology and removed the inedible items from our bill. Which still left us unfed and disappointed beyond belief. I will never return would encourage other diners to go elsewhere.

Yelp
Food is standard irish bar food. I had the full irish and it was good but not great, just about what you would expect. My girlfriend had soup and toasted special, same again, ok but nothing special and they used packaged ham which I hate but didn't bother her. Service is very friendly but a little slow, probably just because they were a bit understaffed. This wasn't a problem for our group as we were just chatting away. Didn't use there at room so no comment there. Overall ok but with the choice of great food in Galway I don't think I'll be going back. 1 thing, they advertise outside in the chalk board that they show all the games on 3 large screens and I only saw 1 tv over at the end of the bat showing anything, not sure if the football was even on. Just an observation.

Yelp
Great food great atmosphere and great service. We had the pizza and wings and it was delicious. Their Irish coffee was amazing. We had a great time.

Yelp
This was our "go to" pub while in Galway. Not as crowded as those along the main drag and offering fair prices on food and drink. GOOD food, even! Had some delicious mussels for 10 Euro. We literally wound up here at least once each of our three nights in Galway.

Yelp
Decent pub with plenty of room to roam around inside. Live music nightly was a plus. Within walking distance of other pubs in Galway.

Yelp
We liked to get a irish coffee after walking for a while on town. Unfortunatley we had to figure irish coffee a this place is not there best thing to serve. Altough the food they were serving, looked very good. But we were not hungry, so we didnt order some food. So we left again to another place to get a good irish coffee and we found one. We realy liked the pup by it self here.

Yelp
Hi all, ate here for lunch today. I got the soup and club sandwich and my friend got the chowder and chicken ciabatta. We asked for everything together however it all came out at different times she got her sandwich first then I got my soup next came her chowder and my sandwich. Soup wasn't great no flavour club sandwich was ok no egg in it. The price is very good and they do an all day breakfast for anyone after being out the night before! I wouldn't go back for food however.

Yelp
Ate here because most other places were crowded. Meal was OK. I had a burger and my friends had fish and chips and the beef stew. Service was good. Nothing to complain about but nothing to rave about.

Yelp
We got a chance to stay at the hotel and enjoy the bar. This place was great. Always a good vibe and great service. The location was convinient, just a short walk from the bus depot and they were more than happy to hold our bags until our room was ready. Once we make it out to Galway again, we'll be sure to stay here.

Yelp
Right on this square, this place did not disappoint. You can get your normal Irish staples here but they had unique dishes that are worth the try. The chicken chorizo sweet chili panini was one of the better sandwiches I've had. Top it off with tomato basil soup and you won't regret it.

Yelp
Worst experience ever, couldn't wait to leave. If you like going to hotels to be told to "Shush" before 6 p.m, go straight to bed when you arrive, don't speak, don't watch TV and not move around a lot, then this hotel is certainly for you. As a very frequent worldwide traveler, I can safely say I have never experienced this type of attitude and manner in which guests are dealt with at this so called "hotel". We had checked in no more than 20 mins and I was returning some calls to my clients when we received a call to our room and telling us to "Keep the noise down" as there was a noise complaint. This was 5.45 p.m in the afternoon!? The staff member did not ascertain if there was "noise", ask us any questions, we were just told to essentially "be quiet". We should have left there and then but as we were going out for a meal and wouldn't be spending a significant amount of time in the room, we decided to stay. We returned to the hotel late (around 3-330 am), got our key and went to our room. No sooner we were in the door, the room next door started banging our wall and shouting in to us to be quiet. As a paying hotel guest, we have every right to have a conversation with each other at any time of the day or night without having to worry about the room next door banging on our walls (i say next door but the walls were so thin, I could hear a newspaper page being turned in the next room in the morning, should have complained about the excessive noise!) .We didn't have the tv on and were talking in low voices, drinking iced water in our room which we paid for and are more than entitled to do. Next morning (9.15 am approximately),someone knocked on our room asking if we wanted it made up. Check out is 12 noon so its anyone's guess as to why the hotel thinks knocking on their guests doors at this time could ever be a good idea. We also received 2 calls to the room which hung up before we could answer around 10 am which really looked to us like the hotel staff were determined to disturb us as much as possible. When checking out, we had discussed making a complaint as to how we were treated but decided to just never come back to. Imagine our complete shock and annoyance when some girl (I'm assuming some sort of supervisor) asked if she could have a word. She then had the audacity to tell us that as there was a complaint about noise from our room to not return to the hotel or bar again (I think she actually used the words "not to set foot on the premises"). She was not on duty last night, did not ask us at any stage what our side of the story was and therefore could not possibly know that the complaint was for talking at a low level in our room (without the TV being on as a mark of respect to our fellow guests at that late hour) at 3.30 AM which supposedly could be heard in the next room through walls that are 1mm over being paper thin. A hotel room is supposed to be a home away from home and you should be able to relax and enjoy yourself but certainly not at the expense of other guests.By taking one guests word over ours and not even bothering to ask us any questions shows how utterly incompetent the staff were in dealing with a ridiculous situation that could have been addressed and resolved so so much easier by a professional approach towards it. Please note that this is my experience of the accommodation aspect of the hotel. I heard the bar was good so try it out for yourself.. but definitely don't book a room

Yelp
After wandering around shopping all day and fighting a cold at the same time, I wanted to stop and maybe have some tea and rest. I wandered in here to see what was happening and it wasn't too packed, there were places to sit, and there were lively people at the bar watching sports. So we sat. Since I wasn't feeling great I got some tea. But then I also wanted some seafood chowder so I got that too. The seafood chowder was rich and creamy and did have lots of seafood in it. They served it with bread and butter of course. I should have planned better though because with the tea and also the soup I was very hot and sweaty afterwards! So I got a diet Coke too. Yeah, us Americans with our tons of drinks. Haha. Nice service, not packed, fun local crowd watching sports....give it a try for lunch if you are out and about in Galway.

Yelp
Convenient Location! Nice bar downstairs. Short walk to the pubs.

Yelp
The only time I been in Garveys was for the Superbowl 2011 Packers vs. Steelers. The best part of the night was being locked past closing time to watch the game due to the time difference. Thus, the pub appeared closed to the Garda. Very packed, people were engaging. The staff were quick to serve the thirsty. The Irish cheered on both American teams without picking a favorite as the Americans would do. Very Memorable night! Blue Moon is on tap here , the only pub in Galway where I remember purchasing a pint. Good food too.

Yelp
Another great place to grab a pint. The prices in Whiskey's are good, well at least compared to the States. A glass of €70 a bottle Galway Bay was €7 . The pints of Guinness were €4.80 the bar was a good size.

Yelp
One of the best pubs in Galway. Always a good crowd and live music on. Possibly the best pint in town and an incredible amount of whiskey to choose from. Terry will point you in the right direction

Yelp
Great place to grab a Guinness. Wifi included. Could do without the Yank memorabilia all over the walls. But that is a nit. Fun place with a great staff. Go there while in Galway.

Yelp
During my time in Galway I went to Garvey's multiple times a day. Breakfast and a cider for €8, a couple TVs for days games. At night they have incredible live music and the bar staff was a blast to chat with. I basically spent my evenings enjoying the Galway spirit that is manifested in this location, hanging out at its old school bar before heading to the clubs across Eyre Sq. Then I'd wake up, stumble back over to Garvey's and nurse my hangover with a delicious breakfast. I didn't stay here but intend to on my next trip. Garvey's made me want to move to Galway.
