Highly recommend.||Via Expedia, my amazing wife managed to get one full week in one of the 1800 sq.ft. condos on the 4th floor of Tower 5 at the Blanca Garza Preserve Resort and Spa, with the All-Inclusive package. Truly an outstanding experience...let me tell you why:||Before: Shortly after booking, a concierge from the resort (real person, real email...not an automated message) reached out to assist us with ground transportation, onsite arrangements for restaurants, and special needs. As one of our party has celiac disease, this was beyond welcome, and when shared the need for GF options across the entire stay, she said they would make a note and let us know what special arrangements they could make in a follow up message. In fact, the concierge offered to talk by phone to make all these arrangements and spent 20 minutes on the phone helping us get everything right. That's right; a real human, in real time, providing amazing customer service. Even better, she email again a few days before we were set to fly to reconfirm everything. A rare, beautiful and welcome thing!||Check-in: The arranged transportation was where he said he'd be, at the time promised, and had the AC going full blast. He provided lovely tour of downtown PV as we made our way down the coast to the property. The staff at the resort took are of our bags from there, and unbeknownst to us, our unit came with an assigned concierge, who gave us a quick orientation, double-checked our reservations, and then pulled in a few favors to get us perfect seating at a couple of the restaurants (more on that later). She was charming, helpful an low-key, and she re-appeared regularly throughout our stay to check on us.||Property: it's part of a rainforest preserve, so while it fronts the ocean with a sand beach, the towers that make up the resort are set up and essentially each scale a little higher into the rainforest...so if you are in a tower at or above the the fourth floor, you are at or above the rainforest canopy AND you can see the beach and ocean. For example, I watched a group of parrots fight with each other in trees while I drank my early AM coffee on the giant patio; another morning I watched two pods of whales slowly breach and work their way into and then back out of the bay...magical. Regularly ran into Koti's making rounds in the early evening, and there are wild and tame iguanas all around the property. ||The gardens, and the Tierra Luna Gardens next door, were everything you'd expect from a resort in the rainforest; they are on par with the Grand Hyatt in Poipu and other top end Hawaii properties - there were even pineapples growing along one of the drives up the mountain. ||As for appearance and maintenance, again, superior to almost any place we've stayed...everything was clean, updated, painted, and working just as it should. The only nit was that they are doing work to extend the beach and breakwater, which did not in any way interfere with using the beach and lagoon...just added some noise during the day, though after seeing the master plan, the noise will be worth it to future guests. ||Lastly, because the resort towers are built up the mountain, getting from building to building (beach, pools, restaurants, gyms, nightclubs, etc.) is walkable but requires a lot of steps up and down if you decide to walk. That said, the trolley shuttle bus that circles the property comes regularly, on time and moves fast. They are not air conditioned, but unless it high dinner time, they are not crowded and had no trouble managing our schedule to use them. It appeared there were more personalized options (golf carts and vans) for differently abled guests, but only saw and cannot confirm. ||Rooms: Without knowing it, we somehow ended up in one of their largest and well appointed tower condo units. 1800 sq. ft...balcony with hot tub and hammock with full 90 degree views of the rainforest, beach and ocean (and in some cases, the lights of PV in the distance). There was a separate bed/bath for our daughters, full kitchen, master bedroom with steam-shower, living room and powder room. Washer dryer too! Have to rave about housekeeping...I took care them, and they soooo took care of us. They keep the beer, water, and snacks fully stocked, and when they figured out that I was making coffee every AM, the comped me a large bag from a local roaster. AC was monstrous when we needed it to be, and the ability to open the patio door all the way across the front of the unit was magical a night, especially when thunderstorms wafted over the mountains and across the bay at night. ||Food: We've done a lot of all-inclusives (lotta' different preferences across our family), and generally we find the food OK and then a let down by day 6 or 7. Not the case here; each unique restaurant was very, very good, and had something for everyone or made special accomodations without blinking. Our favorite was Bacado's (the steakhouse), where we managed to eat dinner twice over sunset...everything was excellent and special shoutout to Esteban and Angel, the team that served us both nights...they were the best crew among many excellent crews. The Japanese place was a very close second, and the Chinese place just a notch below. Next was the Italian place. Ironically, we did not have good dinner experiences at Blanca Blue (the Mexican centerpiece in the main building); however, the breakfast buffet there was second to none, so might have just been us. ||As we were all inclusive, we ordered a lot at the pools and the beach - and even did room service twice - and both the food, service and the bartending everywhere was fast amazing. The fruit, seafood, and produce were off the charts. Even a basic cheeseburger (in paradise, right) was very good. ||Beach and Pools: The beach was adequate; as mentioned above, it's inside a lagoon. The upside is the waves are not a big deal (unless you are right in front of the opening in breakwater), so perfect for families with small kids. Sand is good and wide, and there is not a seaweed problem like Cancun or Isla Mujeres. Other upside is because the breakwater is made of boulders, the snorkeling in and around lagoon is decent...cool stuff to see, and if you have the all-inclusive, they have pretty good gear (as well as kayaks and paddleboards) for checkout at any time during the day. ||The pools are not tiny, but also not huge. A good thing is that like other places, they don't let you toss stuff on chairs before breakfast and hold the best chairs until sometime later (like after lunch...you know who you are...). 15 minutes and the very attentive pool staff set your stuff aside and help actually present guests use the chairs. The lower pools (by the beach) have a higher quotient of young kids and families, because everyone can go back and forth from beach and pool. So busier, noisier, and a little more chaotic...but even so, the music and vibe is still much lower key than most places we've been, and our girls were young once, so we were here at least different times. ||The "upper pool" has fewer kids and adults, and is even more low key, and it was a our fave. Great views, great crew, steps from our tower, and the gardens around were spectacular. Definitely our fave. ||There are two rooftop pools on the newest, fully owned towers...one operates a nightclub after 8 PM with great views (but no swimming) and live entertainment. We checked out the nightclub, and it had a good vibe...we are just not big nightclub people, so can't attest to the groove between 10 PM - 1 AM. Both rooftop pools are owners only during the day, though our concierge indicated she might be able to work something out for us...but we did not take her up on it. I do think those pools during the day would be awesome. ||Gyms: Both were good and all the equipment actually in good shape and fully operational (when is the last time you said that about a hotel gym?). Across the two, the equipment selection was pretty good, too. There were organized classes too, but not out thing. Still, the morning yoga group looked substantial and happy to be stretching to the sun when we passed by....||We didn't realize that because of our package through Expedia, they did not "require" or even bring up attending a timeshare pitch until we asked about booking an excursion, at which point the trade-off posed was 50% off of the cost of the excursion if we would attend a timeshare pitch (hey, it is what it is). As we actually really like the property (and the Villa del Palmar in Cancun that we stayed in a few years ago), we were curious and agreed to the 75 minutes. The salesperson was charming, thoughtful, and when it was clear that we were not likely to sign up on the spot, very gracious and did not try to pitch us again. Again, a better experience than any other all inclusive we've stayed at. ||Added a few pictures from sunset at the steakhouse to give you a sense of how your days end here. ||Again, highly recommend. We are not a family that ever goes back to the same place twice or would think twice about a timeshare pitch...but this place is one we WILL return to.
