Beautiful historical light house and beaches! 6$ toll to drive down, $3 parking, and 10$ to walk up the lighthouse if you catch a day they are offering it (currently Fridays from 10-3).

Beautiful beach. Beautiful lighthouse. Worth the 6 bucks to go across the bridge. But beware parking is limited to state parks or it's a $500 fine for parking without a permit.

My favorite beach in the lighthouse is just gorgeous.White sands but doing busy season because they have put up parking signs everywhere. You better get there early or you're gonna spend six dollars to get over that bridge and then no place to park. Very sad how the elite and the billionaires on the island pushed to put out parking signs 3 hour parking and you can't park on the side streets anymore.Very sad, hopefully this comes to an end.Because this beach is one of our very favorites. Very small parking at the lighthouse. When you pay by phones , three dollars

Beautiful place, with absolutely nice beach! Nice and clean place. Small parking. Great place to walk around and have a great time with friends and family. The beach is great. Nice and clean. Nice Shore for kids. Sand is nice and white. You might see a dolphins swimming here closer to sunset. Beautiful views for sunset 🌇.

Wonderful hidden gem trails around the lighthouse. The lighthouse was under construction when we went.So we did not get to go in the museum portion.

What a surprise. We drove down from Venice for the day and we're about 3 of 25 on the beach. So peaceful and we're there from 8:30 to 3:00, but I think I could have stayed all day if others in the party weren't ready to go.

Worth the trip if you are on the island. The lighthouse was under construction in Dec 2025.

A most beautiful island that everyone should visit at least once in a lifetime!

Yelp
I love lighthouses and I have visited quite a number of them over the years, yet each one still sparks my sense of curiosity and my admiration. This lighthouse was moved to it current local in 1927 and stands 105 feet tall with 134 spiral steps to the top, it was restored to its original glory in 2017 at a cost of 1.3 million dollars and today stands proud for all to see, but this is not where the story began. It was originally built in 1881 by the Phoenix Iron Company of Trenton, N.J. It began service just north of Lewes, Delaware as the Delaware Breakwater Rear Range Light, known locally as the Green Hill Lighthouse. In 1927, the lighthouse was reassembled and installed on Gasparilla Island just south of the town of Boca Grande by the U.S. Lighthouse Service. The tower was painted white and a 4th order Fresnel lens was installed and lit on January 1, 1932. Unfortunately I was not able to climb it today being it was closed but just walking around it was a joy. Some say it's not worth going out of you're way to see it or pay the $6.00 to cross onto the causeway I say it's a must see if you're anywhere in the area and have a few minutes to spare. As an added bonus visiting this lighthouse is in close proximity to a beautiful beach which offers a great shelling opportunity...
