Situated around 5 minutes drive from Ivato Airport this is handy for pre and post tour nights. We had a few days pre and post tour here. It is not in town so not convenient if you wanted to have a wander around the city, however there is a nice pool area should you wish to just rest.||||Rooms were furnished well with plenty of room and seating on two additional sofa beds. There was a balcony overlooking the pool area. No tea/coffee or drinking water provided in room.||||However, there is a dog that continually barked in the evening on all 4 nights that we stayed on our second visit (3 weeks later) it was as if it was the other side of the wall, really loud. Staff were aware but didn’t seem bothered.||||Electric and therefore wifi can be erratic as there are regular power outages in the City, the advertised hours are until 10pm in the evenings.||||They do exchange money here, but we had to wait until the morning when the boss was in to do it. The rate was on par with the airport.||||They take credit cards (provided the wifi is working) – but omitted to tell us, until we were paying the bill, that there is a 4% charge added to the bill for this. As a result we paid cash but were then left short of local cash. NB this seems to be the normal procedure in the country if you are actually able to use a credit card.||||The bar staff were friendly however, when they run out of stock they leave the empty bottle on the shelf and don’t reorder or go and buy another – the gin ran out and there wasn’t a lot of choice left for 2 nights. The wine was awful. As a non beer drinker this was an issue for me.||||There was a menu in the room showing a reasonable selection of food available from the kitchen, hereby comes the problem, they refused to cook any of it for us when we ordered it in the restaurant – they would only cook what was on the daily menu board – 3 options!! So why put such a work of fiction in the rooms to upset guests when they could not order from it (we tried on 3 separate occasions on our two visits to the hotel).||||On our second day we had a tour booked leaving at 8am, we went for breakfast at 7am (the opening time) to find no staff, the cook finally wandered in at 7.25am, giving us little time to order and eat our breakfast pre the tour. No one was bothered. Basically some staff training is required here and meals should not be reliant upon one person, guests have paid for a service!||||On our post tour stay we had a complete day at the hotel due to an early morning flight, so we sat by the pool after breakfast only to be invaded by a local school which took over the pool with children splashing and shouting. There were at this time quite a few guests in a similar situation to us sat around the pool, unable to use the facilities that we had paid for!||||As commendable as it may be to let the local kids use the pool, this should be done at a time when the paying guests are not using it – ie 8am to 9am - at this point the guests would be in breakfast and not inconvenienced.
