I can confirm a lot of the positive comments made by other guests: designer (Moormann) furnishings; cooking facilities (but no kettle for hot water - we had to use a pan); pleasant staff; copious breakfast delivered to the door (enough in fact for breakfast and supper); good WiFi connection; sauna; garden; scenic area; close to Kampenwand gondola lift; good restaurants in easy reach (by foot or by car); not far from Chiemsee by bus or by car); etc.||Nevertheless there were some serious downsides to our room. (Note: each room is completely different and the problems we experienced may possibly not apply to other rooms).|| Moormann emphasises in his books (which are liberally scattered around the room and hallway) that "form follows function". In many cases, however, "function" seems to have been forgotten. Worst of all was the lighting. The "function" of light is usually to help to see things. In our room the function of the lighting seemed to be to blind and inhibit seeing (e.g. table light placed at exactly eye level and a floor lighting making reading difficult).||A second problem was the noise. The house itself is badly sound-proofed. Worse was the traffic noise, being directly on a busy street with a lot of motor cycles revving to go round and nearby bend. I believe a lot of people actually enjoy the sound of motorcycles, but for those who don't it can be a problem.||The third problem was the heat. Although, the outside temperatures never went above 22 degrees, the room was very hot, so we had the choice of keeping the windows open and "enjoying" the sound of the passing motorcycles, or keeping the windows closed and suffocating. This heat problem may not apply to the other rooms - most had shutters, but our south facing room for some reason didn't.||Other minor deficiencies: nowhere in the bathroom to place toiletries (other than in the cupboard); floor and wall heating which took several hours to cool down; although we were expected to separate at least 4 different kinds of waste, there were only two waste buckets; no banisters on the stair case (a problem carrying luggage upstairs since there is no lift); no separation of the shower from the bedroom (allowing steam and heat into the room); only one key per apartment, which was a nuisance if we wanted to go out individually.||Finally, the reception is only manned in the morning, but guests are expected to arrive in the afternoon. This meant nobody was there to answer questions. Usually, when there is no reception, there is an ABC of instructions lying somewhere, but there were none to facilitate our first moments in berge.
