We spent 2 Nights in the « tiny room ». Great value. Comfortable bed. Out of the room there a sitting options. And I love the picture of animals (you get free cards of them).|Breakfast has all you need with tasty bread.|Restaurant was fast and good. |Hands up for the very friendly staff!

We came to Appenzell for the first time to visit the Brewery and decided to defer lunch until we arrived. The service here is fabulous, and the food delicious and very competitively priced, which is always a nice surprise with the pound as it is 😁 I highly recommend if you're in town and passing by. The food here was very good and typical “traditional” Swiss. Schnitzel, Rosti, spaetzle, etc. if you are craving Swiss comfort food this is a decent choice. They aren’t breaking any gastronomic new ground, but it’s solid cuisine with excellent service. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

The staff at this hotel are the friendliest and most obliging we have ever experienced. They waited for us for a late arrival due to plane delays, prepared us delicious sandwiches and drinks, all without any stress. The breakfasts are wonderful, the rooms very comfortable and clean. Our evening meal was delicious and served quickly in spite of the fact the restaurant was full. We cannot fault this hotel and its staff. We will be back.

I have been visiting Hof since I was 13 years old, and it has been a significant part of my teenage years and beyond. Your establishment has truly become like a second home to me. Rosemary, the team, and Johan when he was still there, are among the most hospitable people I have ever met in Appenzell. The food is excellent, the service is impeccable, and the entire experience is second to none and so authentically enriching. Thank you for creating such a wonderful and welcoming atmosphere. I look forward to many more visits in the future.

What a wonderful stay at Gasthaus Hoff. Joseph and his family were so kind and they take such pride in their hospitality. It shows. A very authentic Alpenzell experience perfectly located in the middle of town. And the restaurant downstairs is fantastic for breakfast, lunch or dinner!

This was a welcoming hotel, well located and with a good restaurant. It's not fancy, but it's charming and clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend.||I don't believe they have an elevator but the staff helped with our bags so that wasn't a problem for us.

We loved our stay here! The room was so sweet and comfy. The breakfast was excellent and you can’t beat the location. Best value!

I had a very positive experience. We sat outside on a beautiful 71 degree sunny day. I had a local Appenzeller beer, and my wife had a glass of wine. The two of had a very flavorful Herb fondue with wild onion and Appenzeller cheese. The waitress checked in with us many times and asked if we wanted more bread or cheese. For dessert, we split a half order of cinnamon ice cream, with Alpenbitter liquor herbal cream, and meringue. Yum.

The ambiance so so. The food ok but nothing special. The interior is very rustic. I had the fondue with was ok my wife had the schnitzel wich was a solid version
