A true gasthaus experience. We were lucky enough to visit during the St. Martin's Goose week and hand an incredible goose soup. Also enjoyed a cordon bleu that was executed beautifully. Great service too!!

Great Austrian food and cosy atmosphere

Worth seeking out if you are in Krems. Delicious Austrian food and wine, especially the creamy turnip soup with the large bacon dumpling and the semolina flummery (pictured) for dessert. The staff were attentive and very pleasant.

Such a cute place! I went for a walk with my dog in the city of Krems and came by this restaurant. The menu hung outside and I decided to go in because of the food they offer. They offer traditional Austrian food on an haut-cuisine level, which has become a rare thing these days, really. I asked for a table for just me and my dog and we were more than welcome, which was nice....staff is exceptionally friendly 👍. Drawn to that sort of cuisine I ate more than I initially intended and everything was great, really fantastic 👌. I can only recommend this cute, traditional little place and I myself will return for sure! 😊

Incredible ambience especially in their outdoor area, sorrounded by historic buildings of the city Krems. The food is unique and well-balanced while still staying true to the local cusines charm.

We happened to stop in Krems on our way to a holiday in the region and as we were walking around this gorgeous old city, we spotted this place and decided to stop for lunch. It's a guesthouse and restaurant that has operated since 1895 or something like that. It's housed in a gorgeous building couple of streets over from the shopping street. If you don't detour from the Main Street in town you won't find this place. They serve traditional Austrian food and the menu is quite extensive. They also had a daily card and as it was end of Spargel season, a couple of dishes with asparagus. They also have about a dozen wines from the area by the glass besides other drink choices. We sat in the outdoor area and it's quite nice. Staff were very friendly and quick to serve us when we were seated. I had a roasted wagyu steak which was served on a bed of white and green asparagus and spinach purée and horseradish foam. It was simply delectable and the flavour was amazing. I licked my plate clean. I also had a cream slice for dessert which has been made using the same recipe for the last 60 years at this place and it was also amazing. I tasted the crumbed mushrooms and this is very unique and seasonal dish in Austria and it was excellent. Happily come here again anytime. Great food, good service and not over priced. This is good honest Austrian cooking with high quality ingredients.

Delicious!! And a very kind staff. They have an English menu for those of us who only have enough German to order wine and coffee and be polite. Also, the owner came out to wish everyone well. A good place to stop!
