Gasthaus Schlosshalde

We stayed at this guesthouse as we we wanted to be near Zurich but in the countryside. The hotel lived up to all our expectations, located just outside Winterthur, with wonderful views, quiet surroundings and friendly staff. Our room was large and comfortable, the only downside being that we had to share a bathroom with our friends in the adjoining room. They did mention this on the booking confirmation, but we missed it as it was not specified in the internet deal. Apart from this, the small restaurant served good food, and the breakfast was very good. The house is an old mansion, but has been tastefully modernised, and very secluded. Being Switzerland, it is not cheap, but probably reasonable value for money compared to other Swiss hotels.

A marvellous place to stay and very nice beds. Quiet rooms and a wonderful breakfast. We will come back later. Nice forest for jogging. Haven on earth. This can be recommended to all travellers. Perfect hotel for families.

A pleasant little restaurant in a side building of the Castle Mörsburg. Wonderful shady terrace with a sweeping view of the valley. Excellent food, moderately priced. Very friendly service.

On a beautiful summer evening we sat outside on the terrasse. The food was amazing, so defenetly worth it for a great meal.

On Thursday they have meat from the smoker. I had spear rips with a excellent marinade. Can recommend.
