Gasthaus zum Adler beim Schwabentor

I was very pleased with the new direction this restaurant has taken. Good food, amiable service and that classic unforgettable Adler atmosphere! For a special meal, I'd definitely recommend this to locals and tourists alike. The Adler lives!

Nice place to have a meal with enjoying cozy atmosphere. Food was generally nice, a little bit salty to my taste though. Servers are well organized and gentle.

We entered the restaurant because it just smelled so good and it was a great choice. Besides staff being very friendly, helpful and accommodating, they also spoke perfect English. The food was wonderful, equally for adults and kids. We tried a few starters: snails, soups and salads, and everything was delicious. Especially snails were very good. But also soups - the pumpkin was a bowl but also edible. Beautiful to look at and wonderful to eat. For mains, we had Schnitzel, Liver, veggies and Spätzle. One Schnitzel was a bit burned on one side, but every else very good. Even kids ate everything on their plates, which never happens. We wanted to have a desert at another place, but regretted it later. Should have tried deserts here. Will be back here again, it is an amazing restaurant.

Nice restaurant in Schaffhausen's downtown. Traditional Swiss cuisine with an excellent service. Perfect choice for a family or business meal.
