The Gasthaus has been so accommodating! We had someone that doesn’t do stairs well, so they switched their room to the ground floor. Super prompt on answering our questions, gave fantastic recommendations, and gave us these great coupon books that gave discounts to local attractions! Will definitely be recommending this location to all my friends when they visit the area. Super clean rooms and super friendly staff. Breakfast was also above and beyond!!

Very clean b&b in a detached guest house with classic cozy decor and big rooms. Has a shared but fully equipped kitchen you can use, along with living room where you can mingle or have a drink with other guests. Delicious breakfast and ideally suited in the black forest, close to Gutach and Schiltach. There are stairs so the less mobile might have a problem. It is superb for families as there is a shaded playground on the side, so you don't need to cross the road. We arrived by car and there was plenty of parking. Highly recommended stay.

The receptionist Judith was so warm, friendly and helpful. We experienced true hospitality with her. The breakfast table was also set for our family group. The rooms were clean. The smell of the surrounding farms was a little overwhelming in the morning. Taking a short walk in the forest was such a refreshing experience in the morning. The Rodelbahn is also nearby. There was ample parking space on the premises and the Supermarkets Lidl and Aldi are also in the vicinity. Would definitely recommend staying here.

The only negatives were, yes, it is right on the busy B33 and despite my B.Com reservation saying the room was available from 3:30 pm on arrival a sign on the door said open at 5:30, the rest is all so positive. The Gasthaus was a 20 min walk from the Vogtsbauernhof open air museum on a well signposted route. On our arrival back at the Gasthaus it was soon realised by the staff that we were waiting and were shown to reception. The receptionist spoke good English, apologised for our wait and gave 2 sets of room keys to choose a room in the annexe about 30 metres away from the main house and main road. The downstairs room chosen was a good functional room. There was a patio outside with chairs/cushions and also roll up/down shutters on the door and window. Dinner was taken outside at the main building. The menu was not too diverse but the service was good and the food was well presented and of a good quality. It appeared popular with local residents. Breakfast was taken inside the main building and was a good buffet. The inside was well furnished and appeared recently refurbished. Credit cards accepted.

We stayed here for one night and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is confidently located between Triberg and Schiltach and has old school german charm. Check in process was very smooth and the dinner looked and smelled delicious but we had already eaten. Bed was comfortable and the room quite, they had a pack n play crib for our one year old. Breakfast in the morning is one of the best we’ve had at a german bed and breakfast. Wonderful bread basket and made to order eggs. For the price this place cannot be beat and they were friendly and patient with our little guy.

Very good, warm, spacious, comfortable and calm room. We had a small patio where we sat in the cool and calm of night, after the daily activities, enjoying a beer or two. Slept very well.|Our host was delightful, professional, efficient, friendly, ready to listen and realise our requests. (English and German spoken).|We received a passport for the region with discounts-50% or plus- to enter many activities in the vicinity ;minigolf, visit glass blow museum, open air museum etc. It also included free bus and train rides to discover the villages around. |Excellent breakfast. Lots of fruit, cheeses, sausages, smoked herring and salmon, flakes, muesli, croissants and jams. All of these were of best quality ingredients. We also got soft boiled and scrambled eggs made on the spot with excellent tasty Capucino coffee. Great bread buns. Very tasty. |We had dinner a few times in the restaurant since we were there for a few days.|I must confess, every dinner was a new highlight, a culinary experience. |Very refreshing and original hi cuisine, made with the best quality ingredients you can think of.|Main dishes of meat, fish, duck, all very tasty and generous portions. A very rich menu every night.|We recommend some we had the privilege to eat;|* Roasted fillet of Gilthead with ratatouille and potato-lemon purée. |* Roasted duck breast with vegtables and croquettes.|* Trout (fried whole) with almond, butter, parsley and potatoes.|The deserts are also a dream. We greatly enjoyed|* Chocolate cake with mango and vanilla ice cream.|* Vanilla parfait with rhubarb- strawberry ragoût |In short, a great place to be to enjoy a great vacation together with a gourmet experience.|We will be back.||

This is your typical German/Austrian guest house style hotel/pension. The receptionist and staff both spoke English and German which was useful and were very hospital. Upon arrival there were several rooms available and we were allowed to pick the room ourselves; simply great. Rooms were spacious, had their own balcony and had comfortable beds. Located next to the nature, so ideal for people going on an active vacation. Food in the restaurant was nice; there was enough choice out of wild meat dishes.

We stayed one night here on our way through the Black Forest, with the intent of visiting Triberg just down the road. It was very quiet on Monday night and the hotel restaurant wasn't open, which was kind of a bummer as it looked very quaint. We were shown to our rooms in the attached annex, which were large and clean. We saw that our group of 4 adults and 3 children would fit into two rooms instead of three, so asked if that might be possible and save some money, which they graciously allowed us to do. We used the hotel as a base to explore the beautiful waterfall and cuckoo clock shops in Triberg, about a 15 minute drive away. The hostess spoke English and they accepted credit cards, which was nice. The breakfast was very good and even offered us made to order eggs, which we found was not very common in our other hotel stays on the trip.
