Gasthof 1820

Stayed here for a couple nights in February. The rooms are in a seperata building from the bar/restaurant/brewery (which had good food and drinks, breakfast was also good).||The staff was nice and helpful, even though speaking English from time to time was a bit challenging..but we got along fine. ||The room itself was ok, as expected, renovated few years ago, so in a good condition. In the summertime might get hot though, there seemed to be no aircon in the room (at least not in the one we stayed in). ||Good location, nice place - not high end nonsense, but honest & convenient.

Location |+: located close to the old castle and the city’s charming old centre. |-: very quiet, shops around don’t open after working hours, and are closed on sundays. Was a problem for us because we were traveling for work and needed to get supplies like water, toiletries, etc. ||Room |+: clean, spacious and modern, Scandinavian simplicity, cosy. Had a TV with many channels. Power points conveniently located next to the beds. |-: they don’t provide toothpaste, tissues or shampoo. Provided water but without a bottle opener. ||Amenities |+: nice restaurant/pub below. Great breakfast spread. |-: no gym or laundry facilities (most hotels in this part of arnsberg are boutique hotels and won’t have those facilities either). Check in counter was hard to find because the same people who manage the restaurant manage the hotel check in too. ||Overall|One of the newer and more modern hotels in this part of arnsberg. Would recommend staying here if you’re coming for a holiday in arnsberg.

Very pleasant rooms, everything looks new, good and is well maintained. Place is easy to find, private parking in the back. Breakfast is not exceptional but good.||||Service when checking in was a bit on the fast end of a conversation, refused to speak anything but German, did not check for passports.

We had a great stay here the staff were welcoming and friendly and the breakfast was really good a huge selection the rooms were modern and comfortable so myself and my wife would recommend it .the restaurant and bar were good with an English menu at hand a good selection of local beers

Rooms are high quality. Restaurant has quite good food and beer. Parking in the nearby garage is very convenient!
