From the first moment when we checked into the Gasthof and met the receptionist Petra, my wife and I knew this was going to be a wonderful stay at the Gasthof Grüner Baum. ||As noted, Petra and all of the staff there combined the best of all professional qualities; that is, they were personable, very professional with regard to ensuring our stay was comfortable and enjoyable, always striving to go well above and beyond what a guest would seek. ||Our room on the top floor way spacious and very comfortable, incorporating a delightful eccentricity of new with old. The location extensive use of wood in the creation of a decidedly unique bathroom and bathing area separating the entrance from the sleeping portion of the room was very interesting indeed. The view of the surrounding mountains, ancient buildings, the city plaza and Gasthof cafe below were beautiful at all times of the day. ||The buffet breakfast was plentiful and delicious. My wife and I ate all three evenings at the Gasthof restaurant where the food, service and ambience were outstanding. ||May I also add my heartfelt thanks to our receptionist Petra, restaurant host Roland and especially to a wonderful lady, Liselotte, whose kindness and smile were always there and whose warmth and caring for my wife (whose macular degeneration has taken away much of her vision) were so very much appreciated. ||For their wonderful Gasthof and superb staff my wife and I send Familie Bachmayer and all at Grüner Baum our congratulations and heartfelt thanks!

From the beginning, a very warm welcoming in extremely nice well stored historic building. We had dinner inside the property with a fixed menu option. very convenient, several different dishes extremely tasteful and a great introduction to the food of the region. Nice spa complementary as a final touch

We were really impressed with Gasthof Grüner Baum. The food was excellent and the sauna area was modern and comfortable. I slept well and had an overall great experience. I even loved the view. It had everything.

The property is very nice, well located on the square, and the staff are generally pleasant. The owner, however, is completely unhelpful and arrogant. Our small group had reservation for several rooms long in advance. Unfortunately some of our group had to change their plans and the hotel was unwilling to make any changes. We paid for rooms we didn't need, I expect they resold them and got paid twice. In addition, one of our group had a bike accident and had to fly home for surgery. We vacated two rooms a day early with NO consideration from the owner, not even a shred of compassion. He was very good a repeating the cancellation policy over and over. After we got home I asked for a copy of the injured person's bill for their insurance company and was told 'She got one when she left, another one is not possible'. I've never experienced such arrogance in Italy, and cannot recommend this property.

Went there for dinner. Ordered an appetizer, a main course, and a drink. The order was very clear. The main course arrived first, then the appetizer and my drink. The food was then cold because they didn't take the initiative to make it right. I assume it was good when warm, and so was the bier if it still had some foam. The ice cream on the menu is not available if you are sitting there, you have to walk away to eat it. Given the prize, they should do so much better. Or at least apologize for it. The wifi is good tho, I am writing this using it

We stayed here for 2 nights on a cycling holiday and it really is a great place.||||Our room was spacious and comfortable and the bath was nice after a long cycle ride. The brand new and luxurious sauna, in the next door building with lockers and fluffy robes and towels for each room, was even better after tackling the Umbrail and Stelvio passes.||||We ate here both nights and had very good meals, which were adapted to be suitable and delicious for the vegetarian in our party. Breakfast is also excellent - leave room for the freshly baked croissants.||||The staff were friendly and helpful.||||I would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel very much. Very friendly and attentive staff, renovated and clean rooms and food that deserves many compliments as well (recommend diner!). On top of that it is situated in one of the most beautiful villages in the valley. You can enjoy the surroundings from the rooftop terrace. We therefore would rate this hotel to be an excellent choice.

The base of the house is from the 1500 Century, and mentioned as an inn from 1732. Everything is a mix of old and new. The rooms are modern, with a box-system, even the bathroom is a box in the room. The beds are very good, and our room was large. The hotel is right at the marketpalce, and within the city walls of Glurns/Glorenza. It has a nice restaurant, with outdoor seating as well. The check-in is just two steps away at the next hotel. One of the smallest towns in South Tirol and have a lot of history and was founded over 700 years ago. The comlete town wall dates back to 1500. Good place to stay if you want to drive alpen pass, among them Stelvio. Several sights and good restaurants in walking distance. We were offered a safe parkingsspot for our MC's.
