Gaststuben im Zunfthaus der Schiffleute

The retro building & setting really impressed me. Service was prompt and polite. We ordered the beef fillets in medium done. The meat was tasty & juicy, and what impressed me more was the fried onions as the beef topping, crispy & full of onion fragrance. However we mistaken the Allgau Snitzel with the Wiener Snitzel (this was want we original wanted) The Allgau Snitzel come with gravy and it has a slice of ham in between the pork and gave the extra dimension of taste. A diff way of savoring Snitzel from different. Overall very grateful to visit the restaurant on Germany Unity day. The street was less congested and shopping area was closed. A pleasant visit to Ulm.

The food was amazing! The service was also really good. They were serving quickly and managing the many tables quite well. Everyone in the group really enjoyed the food. It was a hot day and we had to adjust the umbrella ourselves but no one objected. The vegetarian options are limited but sounded good. I had the spinach spätzle. Would love to go back and try more.

I’ve eaten at Gaststuben im Zunfthaus der Schiffleute a few times now, and it never disappoints. This time, I had the Allgäuer Schnitzel — it was delicious! In the past, I’ve tried other dishes here as well, and they were just as good. The location is perfect — right in the heart of town, with so much history built into the building itself. It’s a great spot to sit down, relax, and enjoy a cold beer while exploring the area. The staff are always super friendly, which adds to the warm and welcoming vibe. Highly recommended whether you’re in for a full meal or just a drink and a break from sightseeing.

ChatGPT told me to come here if I wanted to try a traditional dish, so I came. I went with something I can’t not attempt to write, and when I saw how much food it was, I was like oh oh! And was skeptical but once I tried it, I thought it was pretty good. And believe me, I’m picky. The lentils had this sweetness to it, delicious. I couldn’t finish the sausages because I’ve never been a fan, but overall think was pretty good. Maybe less sausages and more pork belly would have been better, but overall a taste I had never experienced before! Also, they are pet friendly. Immediately brought water for my dog.

Nice surroundings, a mixed review from family of four’s meals. Daughter asked for still table water. Delivered sparking, told as we asked for table water that means sparkling, so was our fault it seemed. Sausage Salad - was Sausage and very little salad with a pool of water. Two handfuls of sliced poor quality ham. A bit like billy bear if you have eaten it. Strips of fish and salad was better, at least it had some salad. Two other meals were ok. One Waitress needs to increase awareness of surroundings. I waited at the steps in the entrance for a large family of children and elderly, the waitress pushed past me and made the family stop for her to exit. She then just stood outside.

We stumbled across this after visiting the crooked house and the river and so glad we did! What a find, Nimet greeted us warmly and helped us choose the perfect table (she was perfect for our whole visit). Berg beer was on tap and a favourite from my family who come regularly to Germany (from Australia). Food was delicious and I was offered the leftovers to take home. Can’t wait to come back.

I had dinner and ordered deer meat that was good but I expected a stronger flavor. The beer was great, and the ravioli soup was also delicious. The staff had a very pleasant and friendly attitude, which made the experience enjoyable overall.

Food is delicious, i got mine after 5minutes! When asked about amazing speed, waitress just told me- that's Germany😉 place is packed, so get reservations👍 old baen type of look style, staff is great,. Be aware-menu is in German, but i used google photo translator, so all good

We had the Leberspätzlesuppe, Maultaschensuppe, the vegetarian entree (which was great) and the mac-and-cheese. Verdict: very good authentic food, fast and friendly service, nice location and interior. They do have an English menu.
