Great sight to visit in Nanjing, with excellent views of the Porcelain tower light show in the evenings. The Nanjing Wall Museum across the road was a surprising highlight of the trip. Very interesting to learn about the history of the city and it's walls and included lots of information in English too

Nice historical place. Visited during opening so very few vistors yet. History of the wall and some details are displayed in both chinese and english so vistors can understand the history and function of the gate. Huge walls and offers a goood view of the city once you climbed the walls. You can walk the length of the wall if you like and exit on another point. Mini exhibits are available on some of the rooms but most display are in chinese.

East Gate city of Nanjing. Just go there and see for yourself. So many nice people. Enough places to eat and drink. Score souvenirs or have a walk into the wall. Current and ancient Nanjing in one place. Wonderful

Amazing place to visit. There is a tourists entrance were you have to pay 28 Yuan, but the Wall can be visited for free entering through the others gates. The market on the old side of the town is amazing. If you visit Nanjin, you must spend a night to enjoy food, ladies and gents in traditional costumes, and many artistic attractions.

This was a worthwhile stop, just to give some impression of what old Nanjing was like. (Not very much of that exists now). At least three segments of the old Nanjing city wall still exist, and this is one of them. This part is particularly worth visiting because of the massive gate. The wall itself is not as impressive as the city wall in Xi'an/ Beijing, but it is still large, and particularly worthwhile seeing... The various displays on what the gate looked like through the last 100 years or so were interesting. It was poignant to see the model and pictures of the massive wooden structure that use to be part of this gate. That structure lasted for several hundred years until it was destroyed in the Second World War. The views over the city and over the nearby river were worthwhile, as well. When I was there it was not very crowded beside the school children tour group... After visiting 玄武门, we enter from side "gate of china" at RMB20 n walk bout 2100m to the other of the gate, 解放门... Which ever gate u enter will need payment but if u are able to walk 2000+ m, then u may save abit... Highly recommended to visit thou....

There are few entrances of this Gate which is a miniture of the Great Wall of China. It surrounds the Xuanwu Lake, a popular tourist attraction. You can take a trolley bus to travel around the lake.

It's nice if you can go on a weekday. It gets crazy crowded on the weekend. The city walls are cool to walk around on, though you need to pay for a ticket.
