In Remote Alaska, Meal Planning Is Everything | Eater
"A vast, roadless national park and preserve in the Arctic interior that relies on fly-in access and seasonal staffing; it is the workplace for rangers who live in nearby fly-in communities and the destination for backcountry visitors who use the small village as a launching point. The park’s remoteness shapes local foodways and logistics—residents base seasonal lives around supply flights, chest freezers, and communal sharing of subsistence meat—and helps explain why nearby villages become seasonal service nodes for navigation, guiding, and provisioning." - Bree Kessler

Well, what can I say? To begin getting here is definitely a challenge to behold. I went with my brother, and we flew to anatuvuk pass with Wright air. We spent the night there in the Native Corp Hotel. The flight was incredible and the views were really something special.

You need to take a plane into the gates of the arctic national park! But once you do, you can see caribou, bears and beautiful private native land, lakes, ponds, rivers, streams and lots of solitude! Some pictures from the flight we took into the park and also from the lake we spent the day at. Enjoy!

The single most amazing national park I've ever visited. It's not an easy park, but it's a can't miss if you're comfortable in the backcountry.

The mountains never get old here, it's constantly busy with animals and has challenges of many types that are worth experiencing pretty much all the time.
