Nightelier Devonport (Gateway Hotel)

The hotel offers friendly staff, good linen, and good food, which highlights my stay. However, I found the rooms somewhat dated, and the carpets had an unpleasant odour and were stained. While the bathrooms have been renovated, they still retain an older feel. Also, the commode wasn't flushed before giving the room to us. Overall, this hotel could be an adequate option if you’re simply looking for a place to sleep for the night, especially if other accommodations in the area are limited.

Perfect for an overnighter while passing through. Clean, quiet, comfy and the pub style meals from room service were delicious. We left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Staff were very kind and welcoming. Thanks for a great stay.

The room was clean and had everything we needed. The bistro was good. Quiet. Excellent casual meal menu. Good continental breakfast. Great coffee!

really liked the reception team, and the manager was very helpful with a natural sense of hospitality. The check-in was casual, just as it should be. There was a shortage at the breakfast restaurant, and the room could use a little maintenance, especially a crack around the jacuzzi frame you only can see it from the room. Overall, the reception was quick to answer calls and very helpful.

The gateway has been a fantastic place to stay while we have travel delays from Devonport. They have been very accommodating and kind to us while we sort out all the moving pieces of our travel. The friendly staff have gone above and beyond to ensure we are well taken care of during this time. Thank you gateway team

Stayed for a business trip. ||Positives:|- great central location|- nice clean room|- big shower, good pressure|- spacious|- lots of free parking|- good room service food||Negatives:|- building looks like something from the 90’s ghetto. I know that’s only an aesthetic thing but it does look mega run down. |- the back door says it’ll be locked at 11pm, but I went and checked and it was open well after midnight. (I had a midnight maccas run) pretty dodgy looking back entrance. ||Overall:|Good for a few night stay in Devonport. I’d book here again.

The top floor rooms are seem to let in all the noise from the street. Which is an issue as there is a bar/club across the road which can be quit loud. Showers in 401 are a bit dodgey.

Met a friend who was staying at the Nightelier for dinner. Nice food and reasonable price. Staff very helpful too.

There is a restaurant in this hotel called la pome. Avoid it like the plague, the food is tasteless over priced rubbish. Spend your money at Macdonalds or dominos instead. I have eaten in some poor establishments in my life but this place is hands down the bottom of the barrel.

Series of poor service and organisation. First not advised that breakfast hours had been shortened by half an hour on Easter Sunday, no breakfast. Arrive back from sightseeing looking forward to drink in hotel bar - sorry bar not opened. Among number of guests heading for dining room - sorry dining room not open. Rang up for dinner through room service, discovered menu in room out of date, completely different menu. Not impressed!
